effexor and vision

I read on a Neurology website that 150mg was very effective as a migraine preventative, so I started taking that amount a week ago and so far I have been migraine free! I took Celexa before trying Effexor and that gave me major sugar cravings and I gained 5 lbs in a week! Plus, I was getting horrible migraines just about everyday with it. Effexor XR has not given me any munchies. So, this is just something to think about as another option if you need one later.

I was recently started on Effexor 75MG about a month ago and last week up to 150mg and know was told to go up to 225 this week. They also have my on Remeron at nite 7.5mg in addition to Campral - (I am an alcoholic who is trying to stay sober) I was recently divorced after 20 years and miss my family terribly. Trying Prayer. Anyway, I am a member here - any suggestions or words of encouragement would most appreciated.

I have been on 225 mg of Effexor for a few years now, varying my dose now and then. I quit Effexor cold turkey on Sunday, it's day 6 and I am experiencing diarrhea after every meal and I am having vision problems. Is it safe for me to have a glass of wine? Is there a risk of death or any major risk from going cold turkey. I am having trouble focussing and am so tired, sleeping more than average. Where do I go from here?

I experienced horrible withdrawal and two years later still have debilitating vertigo and balance issues as well as ringing in the ears and vision issues. I realize sometime people need antidepressants but if it all possible I would encourage people to forgo the. At least research them before you take them please.

Effexor and Effexor SR are approved to treat depression, social anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and generalized anxiety disorder.

still trying to get a concensus on effeoxor - started on 75mg 4weeks/now150mg 3weeks - still have panic attacks - sweating - in early recovery (AA) - i have heard good and bad about this drug - i think xanweaner talked about blurry vision which i have experienced - your thoughts are welcome -thanks, bob185

you may do great with effexor, some people do. i took it for 5 years and it made me even more tired and i had alot of side effects from it. everyone is different though. you'll probably get more comments from people who have taken effexor. take care.

Just started Effexor yesterday and of course haven't noticed any positive effects yet, but driving to work this morning, all the stop lights were blurry and it seemed hard to focus on things far away Is this a short term side effect, something that will go away? Or will it persist while I'm taking it and I need to try something else? Not something I feel safe living (&driving!

i had to get off effexor i was getting dizzy spells and my vision was getting real blurred now i have hard cramps and hot and cold sweats i am getting better, the dr put me on fluorextine 20mg

Hi there, My mother is tested regularly for glaucoma, as her eye pressure is "borderline". She was taking anti-depressants which were really helping her and providing her some much needed relief. However, she heard that people who have glaucoma should not take anti-depressants. Is this true? She was taking a mild dosage of Effexor. I would really appreciate some advice, we are hoping she can go back on the medication but are concerned with any potential damage to her vision.

Naseau, Brain Zaps,, High Blood Pressure, Sand Shakes? and blurred vision are common in the 248 posts I read on Web Md. Not to mention the awful withdrawl symptoms associated with this drug. There has to be better options out there so I am wondering why anyone would take this medication? Questions: 1) Would anyone who has ever taken this medication please tell me about their own experience on Pristiq? What do you feel like? Can you describe how you feel?

There are a great many postings about withdrawing from Effexor. There is one that asks, as you have, "How Long Does It Take" and there are 930 answers, and you will see that it varies from person to person. We cannot tell you how long it will take you to get over these withdrawal symptoms. Hi, i am 21 years old and was on a effexor for a about a year (75mg) and do to serious weight loss,(My hair was also getting thin) I had to stop taking effexor, i weaned my self off by taking 37,5 for two weeks...for the first 14 days i had brain zaps, after that i started having a serious issue with anxiety and had really bad nightmares.....its been a month, the worst is over but i still have blured vision, a bit of fatigue and a bit of dizziness....

I have been on effexor rx 75 for ten or so years. In '97, when I moved home to care for aged parents, I was on Paxil, but my parents thought it made me too talkative and I got off it. Cold Turkey (the doctor didn't know about slowly changing dosage) - talk about emotional WRECK . . . I was angry/nervous/crying/and felt on edge and zappy.

would not take lexapro and effexor together. for effexor withdrawal i take omega3 fish oil caps twice a day//benadryl as needed for dizzyness\\ b12 sublingualtwice a day\\st. johns wort twice a day// vitamin d3 twice a day ---ibuprofen(motrin) as needed for muscle pain. as far as i am concerned, i will never take a prescription rx. for anxiety and depression again. i also have ptsd. i am sticking to st. johns wort and omega 3 fish oil caps. both will treat depression.

I switched from effexor to wellbutrin. I had to be on both medications at the same time for a long time because of the effexor withdrawal... it was so hard to come off the effexor, I was at the lowest dose for a very long time, 25mg, because I couldn't get off of it the withdrawal symptoms were too bad for me.
