326590 tn?1296062449 I'm 25 wks now and I was having a mild headache yesterday, so I took a tylenol PM last night before bed. I rested well and the headache is gone today, but I have felt the baby move very little today. I know what we take can pass through the placenta. Is it possible that I put her to sleep? Every now and then I feel a flutter, but no strong taps like usual and not often. Maybe like 3 times all day.
Avatar f tn Has anyone taken Tylenol pm during pregnancy? Or acetaminophen/ diphenhydramine. My doc said its ok but im just so nervous i haven't taken any medicine while pregnant and don't like to but i just can't sleep at all and im misserable.
624083 tn?1369314263 Yup it is perfectly safe, tylenol PM is just tylenol and benedryl, both are safe during pregnancy. Make sure you are only taking it if you absolutely need it though. Try taking a relaxing bath and drinking some sleepy time tea, that might help or at least it is worth a try.
Avatar f tn Tylenol is safe to take , my dr said if necessary to take medicine then take tylenol . But dont do it often.
387294 tn?1207620185 The active ingredients in Tylenol PM are acetaminophen and diphenhydramine; the diphenhydramine is an antihistamine and can be purchased separately (and generically) as a sleep aid from Wal-mart or Walgreen’s very inexpensively; ask the pharmacist to find it for you in the OTC section. Best of luck to you as you finish up your treatment, and stop in and let us know how things went.
Avatar n tn It was in my system for maybe an hour and I ate a full meal but then I got upset and took a lot of tylenol pm...not sure how many but I think five to twenty with juice. I realized after what I had done and threw up as many as I could...about five. I drank water and went to sleep. I slept most of the next day but ate and today I went to school..I was drowsy and had stomach pain but it went away and all afternoon and evening I've been fine...
362119 tn?1223137936 i was told that regular tylenol was okay, but i don't know about tylenol pm. oh, how i miss tylenol pm!!! it would provide me with some of my best nights sleep!! i can't believe you are almost there girl!! 38 weeks!! sorry you're not sleeping. is it comfort issues or being unable to turn your brain off?
391232 tn?1255026870 In my first trimester I was having a hard time sleeping and I asked what I can take...She told me Benedryl or Tylenol PM...I went with Benedryl b/c the tylenol makes me feel groggy when I get up in the morning...
Avatar f tn That's a really low dose and you should be fine. As Eyeofhorus mentions, there may be a bit of a placebo effect working for you so don't freak out if you have trouble falling asleep a few nights. The "PM" part of Tylenol PM is diphenhydramine, better known as Benadryl. You might experience a runny nose and sinus congestion as your body adjusts to not having that antihistamine available on a daily basis.
3158998 tn?1358542044 I have been advice by my obgyn that is ok to take tylenol, what about tylenol pm??? i know it contains some type of medicine to help you relax and go to sleep...
Avatar n tn the drowsy substance in tylenol pm is benadryl, which is pregnancy safe. you can call the doctor to re-assure yourself but they will tell you it is fine to take. i even think it is on my lsit of OK meds for pregnancy that i got from my prenatal nurse. i hope you are able to get some rest soon.
Avatar n tn was in your Tylenol PM as that is the only part that makes you sleepy anyway and if it is possible, buy a pure benadryl product in that same dosage if a doctor or a pharmacist were to say that was okay as well. Mind you, it has also been shown that most people become sort of immune to the sleepy effects of the benadryl after 3 days...
Avatar f tn Tylenol and tylenol pm are both safe.
1337483 tn?1383544183 To answer your second question if you keep taking them you can go into liver failure our kidney failure.. that is a lot of Tylenol and your liver can not process it. If you continue to have problems I would speak with your Dr. He has heard this before so you do not have to be embarrassed.. a few sleepless nights would be worth freeing you of this.. You also might ask for a blood panel drawn to check the health of your liver. I wish you well..
Avatar f tn I've been taking 2 Tylenol PMs nightly for the last week, I'm 14 weeks and having such trouble falling asleep at night. Should I try something else? I'm worried about the effects on the baby if any.
Avatar f tn Am really sick with a cold and was wondering if tylenol pm is safe to take just for tonight so i can get some relief.
Avatar f tn One of my doctors told me it was okay to take tylenol pm BC I've had trouble sleeping has anyone else been told this??
Avatar f tn No Tylenol PM. Just regular Tylenol.
Avatar f tn I have had two separate ablation therapy on my heart now and due to have another in October this year. I occasionally take tylenol pm for poor sleep and backache when I wake. Someone mentioned to me that the antihistamine in these tablets may cause some of the problem?
Avatar f tn What dosage of Effexor were you on, and what dosage of Cymbalta did you start with? My doctor said that he was going to put me on Cymbalta also. I'm on 150mg of Effexor and it just don't seem to help anymore. I wondered if I would go to the same dosage of Cymbalta.
Avatar m tn But why bother with the Tylenol/acetaminophen? Long term use affects the liver. The ingredient in tylenol PM that makes you drowsy is Diphenhydramine or benadryl. I would just get that, 25-50 mg per night.
Avatar f tn Tylenol pm is safe. So is benadryl to help you sleep. My midwife told me that so I would go ahead and get the walgreens brand it is the same as the Tylenol brand.
Avatar f tn I take benadryl to help me sleep but unisom is safe as long as you take it as intended and by the directions.
4528412 tn?1357069833 Actually, you're the one who has only 10 days left?? My pharmacist said no Benadryl in the last 2 weeks of pregnancy so no Tylenol pm either. And doctors don't want you taking ibuprofen so I wouldn't. Your best bet is regular Tylenol and unisom I think.
Avatar f tn Not sure about but it's perfectly okay to take extra strength
