hi,My DR,switched me from ativan to xanax on this past Thurs,I feel kinda more depressed and nausted,He also gave me Effexor 75 mg to take i took it on Friday and i dont know if it was the mixture of meds but my blood pressure dropped as well as my heart rate dropped,usually when i was on ativan heart ratewas in 90s it is in the 60s now,Im so afraid i havent taking another effexor,,,,i take the xanax because my anxiety is bad but i feel so emotionless has anyone taking the combination and how di
My doc said to drink ice water and walk to bring my blood pressure up and rest will usually help you if its high. Good luck and stay calm and breathe in through your nose and exhale through your mouth, it will help your crying and anger to calm. Talk to your Doc ASAP about your blood pressure though.
Pulse is normally low in the 50s but does manage to get into the low 60s with training. Blood pressure remains unchanged. No arm or jaw pain, but I really feel like I can not catch enough oxygen and I may pass out. I try to train in the evening when it is cooler and the sun is not as strong. I am beginning to think I have a heart problem.
My physician does not think so but am going for a cadiac workup anyway. Has anyone experienced anything like this?
t know if this is related or not, but my blood pressure has been strangely low. I even fainted a few times. When I looked up side effects of Pristiq, I saw high blood pressure was a possible problem. I do agree that our Doctors don't know enough about this drug. Most of my doctors never even heard of it....even asked me how to spell it for my charts. I had to tell them it is the "new effexor", or the patent extender!
Since then I went from having low blood pressure to high. About three days ago I stopped taking it because of this. My blood pressure is back to normal but for last two days, am having terrible withdrawl symptoms. Should I start taking it again until I can get to see my doctor? Or how long will this last?
My concern is that I was previously on Zoloft 50mg. and it gave me real bad headaches raised my blood pressure and sent me on a emergent run to the hsp. emergency room,,I am concerned about starting this medicience that it will cause the same problems or worse. My O.B. says they are different and that I should try the effexor. What does everyone else think?
I think I will ask my Doctor to try me on some of the meds to see if I can see a difference but am afraid because i have high blood pressure. Has there been any cases of misdiagnosis of depression and it be ADD instead? When I try to do any task it overwhelms me to the point of quitting, I am always tired , can't sleep, cry alot, low self esteem, emotionally eat etc. I certainly haven't been myself in years. Depression meds stop the emotional part but do not help with anything else.
Just be aware that if and when you decide to stop taking Effexor XR, you should taper gradually. Elevated blood pressure can occur, but you can check that every month at the pharmacy and when you go in for doctor's appointments. Other than that, enjoy the benefit of being able to better deal with problems.
I WANT to get back on the drug, my depression is back, my anxiety, problems with not being able to loose weight, I want to get back on it, my dr put me back on at 150mg but it elevated my blood pressure so badly that i had to stop taking it, I was getting chest pains, problems breathing and a rapid heart beat....
I take Toprol for high blood pressure and I checked some drug interaction websites and they advise that Paxil and Toprol can have some kind of interaction with your heart so I'm thinking I have to use a different anxiety/anti-depressant medication or else switch my high blood pressure medication. You should try to ask a doctor why he thinks your blood pressure is so low. Ask about your thyroid. Hypothyroid can cause low blood pressure among other things. Weight loss could cause your pressure to lower. Get yourself a home monitoring pressure device and take it daily in the morning and evening and adjust your diet accordingly. It sure has helped me.
