ANYWAY....does being on antidepressants cause infertility???? Could this be my problem??? I would love any insight that anyone has on this....thank you for your time....
Does, effexor have an effect on male fertility? Does it create foetal disorders? And what about sipralexa and sulpiride?
I was looking over the tricare web page and it looks like your insurance is pretty much the same as mine for infertility treatment. Even tho the IUI or IVF isn't covered all the evaluations and treatments are. If you have been trying for over a year and only have one ovary, I really think you should see a specialist. The number where I go is 405-271-9200. They can tell you for sure what your insurance will cover. Best of luck to you.

I have posted about this on effexor, but I was on Zoloft for 3 or 4 months (first half 50mg, second half 100mg) before I started effexor, and was on effexor for 4-6 weeks (lowest dosage). It's been 5-6 months since I have been completely off effexor and my weight will not budge. I assure you, this is not because I'm eating too much. Prior to my anxiety problems, I lost over 112 lbs doing it natural and hard work, no drugs of any kind, supplements, etc.
My husband is Air Force and infertility is not exactly first on their list of things to help people with. When we finally saw an endocrinoligist, he took one look at me and put me on metformin. My husband had infertility problems on his side too and they told us we would have a 5% chance of getting pregnant without using Invitro. I was on Metformin for about 3 months and lost 15 lb. I also found out I was pregnant (naturally) within 6 months.
My husband is a pharmacist, and my sister had to take effexor and I do know that it takes a while to get into your system, if indeed you really even need this medicine. But it does sound like you need a new doc. Has your husband been tested too? If not, I would look into that. That was our problem with getting pg. I agree with Nikki, you need a better quality of life. Good luck to you!
They only last a few seconds. The build and peak like labor pains. Say I'm in the kitchen and I'll feel it coming on so I have time to brace myself. I'll set down whatever it is i'm holding and get ready. I have to cross my legs, bend my knees, hold on to something, clench my body tight, and try to breathe. Thank God it only lasts a few seconds. My 14 yr. old son witnessed it yesterday and tried to call 911. I kept signaling him not to. I knew it wouldn't last long. My gyno.
Studies have found that the long-term use of seizure medications in women with seizure disorders is associated with menstrual and infertility problems. However, your dose of tegretol may be low enough to cause significant menstrual and infertility abnormalities. Hope this helps.
Hepatitis was negative. I do not drink. My cholesterol was 240 and has been in that range for a long time. I was on effexor (for anxiety) since November. I no longer take it. The only other medication I take is a prenatal vitamin. (I had a baby in May 2003 after 2 years of Invitro Trials). Two years ago before I started my infertility treatments I had my Gall Bladder removed. (was not giving me a problem, but did not want to take a chance of having a problem if I got pregnant).
He has stopped taking all meds other than the ones listed above and 175mg of effexor a day. He was taking 200mg of Librium, 50mg Tegratol, 50mg Metrotoprol, and Lorazepam as needed. Please forgive the spelling. He has horrible burning sensations all over his body. His skin is HOT to the touch except for his face. This is just all too crazy. How can all these things happen at once and not have some underlying cause.

He prescribed me Zoloft 50mg once a day and Buspar 10mg two times a day and to discontinue my effexor. So my first doses I took at bedtime. it was a good thing I did because I slept for 12 hours straight after taking the med's. The next day I was overly sleepy and groggy and STILL anxious. So my second dose I cut my Zoloft in half.. the next day I wasn't as sleepy but still had the anxiety. I have also been getting dizzy spells and headaches. I'm afraid even in my own home ..
I know when I was having issues, I tried a few different meds and med combos and found that effexor xr worked really well for me....but it took 1 1/2 years to get there!
Jess, I too am a 31 year old female and (if I'm understanding your question correctly) am experiencing a similar problem. Am I correct in deducing that your Upper GI with small bowel follow through was complete in 20 minutes? Mine lasted between 25 and 30 minutes and everyone was shocked. Previous to a bout of terrible diarrhea in October, my metabolism was extremely slow. Now, everything is going right through me. My doctors are stumped and I'm being checked for parasites one more time.
But I am not extremely overweight to begin with, I could certainly use to lose 15-20 lbs that I have gained since taking SSRI's (Zoloft, effexor, Cymbalta, Lexapro, Prozac and Paxil). After only two days, soda tasted flat and gross. I do find myself thirsty and drinking lots of flavored water. My heels are tingly and I actually have insomnia (and I take the pill at bedtime). Today I feel like a walking zombie.
Im really worried about the possibility of graves disease because it can lead to infertility and mental illnesses such as psychosis, and delirium.. and I feel it getting worse.
Hello ladies. It's about 5 in the am here. I have been up all night. Nightmare and stuff. I REALLY wish my computer would work right! I am having one of my bout's. I don't really ever post about them, cause I don't want ya'll to think I'm a nut or something. Well, .......I am. I get these bout's a few times a month. The doc has given me many med.'s for it, but I won't take it. I try to handle my problems the hard way ,I guess. I figure the good Lord won't give me more than I can handle.
thinks that is due to my prescription I take, I have also gained weight suddenly I look bloated to people they say. I crave sweets uncontroloby. I have severe depression and anxiety I take a prescription for but none of my prescriptions cause loss of periods. So given that I am 23 years old and married this is pretty weird all pregnancy tests negative. I have taken those tests on-line for hormone deficency and it says severe hormone deficency.
Coffee puts me to sleep - Ritalin makes me eat everything in the house and makes me pass out - Valiums make me grumpy - Serotonin Reuptakes make me Yawn and have Tremors - Xanax just calms me down and Lorazepam lets me sleep - I'm wide awake on Ambien - Ambien CR however makes me sleep for 2 days - Percocets, Darvon and Vicodin while they take away pain do not do the things that my friends talk about (like make them feel floaty or happy or anything... to me they are like heavy duty Advil...
You would think that was a red flag, but NO they just act pissed because you waste their time. I had secondary infertility and had a laparoscopy and Hsg, with many adhesions scar tissue and blocked tubes. Suspected Endometriosis. I was treated with Lupron this past year and only lasted three months because the pain got worse and I started bleeding for 33+days. I have an enlarged right kidney but am told it's normal because I have a dual system kidney on that side.
Sorry I cannot post much tonight. Husband had Kidney stone surgery today and is in pain and so I need and want to be available for him. I did post some stuff recently on hormones (it is a jungle out there)....something to Mammarabbit, Tybear, and...oh...New Life Gal. Check posts from late last week and then over the weekend. Sunday morning, I think...(like you will know it is a morning post!). Look for info on Bioidentical hormones. Check Dr.
I started miscarrying Sunday night at 5 weeks. HCG was dropping per labs and i bled fairly heavy with some bigger episodes until yesterday and it just stopped completely. Is this normal? I still have a slight pain on my right side still. I got blood drawn yesterday but don't know how low my hcg was yet..I just didn't think i'd only bleed for three days?? can anyone please tell me if this happened to them?
I'm 41 and I had a hysterectomy last year. My breasts are extremely sore and driving me crazy. I take effexor & Metformin. If it's hormones, what do you do for that?
I've been to vascular surgeons, cardiologists. hand surgeons and regular md's and no one can help me. This just happened again to my thumb after 10 years and my cardiologist prescribed high blood pressure meds...and I DON'T have high blood pressure, I've been running for 25 years! If anyone has a diagnosis please share...I know your frustration.
I got my IUD out on Aug 5th and am ttc. I have had lots of spotting and maybe a period but nothing regular. I called my doc and they said that it takes 3 months before the hormones are out of your system. The mirena website makes it sound as though you can get pregnant anytime after removal. Any advice/stories would be appreciated. Thanks.
Unfortunately, that did not last. I started having the same signs again, and when I tested it was positive again. And ever since I can't get it to be negative again, meaning the candida if that is what I have has become resistant to the supplements that I was using. As I started a new treatment, I will take the test this week-end to see if there is any progress.
