I have been tapering off from Effexor since late May. I am now on 37.5, which I take every other day. Felt great, energetic. So much more positive simply using mega doses of D3 that my naturopath recommended and Omega-3 to calm the brain zaps. Out of the clear blue, I started feeling itchy four days ago. The redness and bumps were everywhere. I could not figure out why I would have the hives because I have not changed my diet, meds (other than reducing Effexor from 150 mg to 18.
Personally, I wouldn't try this particular supplement. However, there is much research and traditional usage of natural medicine that might help you. It won't be as fast as medication, though. The reason I wouldn't use this supplement is the same one I wouldn't use anything sold on the internet only -- there's nobody to randomly check shelves in a good health foods store to see if the ingredients are what the company says it is.
It does not give me the rash. She added Effexor recently and my rash returned. She wants me to see a psychiatrist for medication help but so far none I have contacted have any appointments available. My question is, is there anyone out there that has had this reaction to SSRI's or SNRI's and what did your doctor do? Or can you tell me who I should ask?
ive been on effexor now for two days now, and for some strange reason now i feel lioke **** dayin and dayout i know the only time i felt a bit better was only one half hour i took my second dose , ifeel jittery anxious i ve had diarea all morning after the second dose.I dont want to take my third dose after dinner tonight because i feel worse than before i started taking effoxor.Its a beautiful day outside for once and im stuck on the couch only to be five steps from the washroom .

There were times prednizone didnt help and I was a mess. I did allergy testing with no findings and journaled and there was no consistancy. Finally about 4 years ago(after a divorce) , a civilian doctor tested me for Hashimotos and it came back positive. My doctor put me on Allegra TWICE a day and it was working so well I was able to go down to once a day about 6 months ago. A few weeks ago I began having hives from head to toe again, and went back to twice a day with no results.
My doctor has consulted with a psychiatrist and wants that I begin with 150 mg Wellbutrin in addition to my current dose of 150 mg of Efexor. I have in that context some questions for you
1) According to interaksjoner.no (interaction.no) wellbutrin increases the concentration of Efexor 3 times when combined with Wellbutrin. It will therefore give an increase of 3 times the concentration of Efexor in the blood if I start directly on 150 mg Wellbutrin. This will give the insane sideeffects.
That can cause a withdrawal problem, as Effexor is one of the most difficult meds to stop taking and has to be done carefully. Hives, though, aren't a withdrawal symptom, and the mg difference might not be as great as it sounds -- extended release pills often mean expensive toilet water, though that's less common with pharmaceuticals than with vitamins or supplements.
I,ve been taking Effexor XR now for about 4 years. I've asked my Doctor over the years a few times how to get off the medication with no answer. I've been taking a all natural drink now for about a year and feel great. Here comes the problem I took myself off the Effexor and I'm getting dizzing, have trouble foucusing on things to the point I shouldn't drive.
Yes you can and that is is more proof that you have tried and tried and it just does not work out. Find a lawyer under dissability law in the yellow pages. You will pay your lawyer out of the initial payment that you get. He/she will get a percentage of your payment. We are not talking big money but you can get section 8 housing where you pay rent according to the SSI you bring in. You should be able to get Medicare and Medicaid.
would not take lexapro and effexor together. for effexor withdrawal i take omega3 fish oil caps twice a day//benadryl as needed for dizzyness\\ b12 sublingualtwice a day\\st. johns wort twice a day// vitamin d3 twice a day ---ibuprofen(motrin) as needed for muscle pain. as far as i am concerned, i will never take a prescription rx. for anxiety and depression again. i also have ptsd. i am sticking to st. johns wort and omega 3 fish oil caps. both will treat depression.
I switched from effexor to wellbutrin. I had to be on both medications at the same time for a long time because of the effexor withdrawal... it was so hard to come off the effexor, I was at the lowest dose for a very long time, 25mg, because I couldn't get off of it the withdrawal symptoms were too bad for me.
I take Effexor for depression and forgot to bring it with me on a 3 day getaway with my 2 young boys. My girlfriend who was also there offered me a Xanax for the 8 hr. drive home just in case I lose it (my mind that is). I only took half and it seemed to work great. The drive was a breeze.
Today however, I took my usual dosage of Effexor and now I'm feeling extremely detached. Like I just don't care about anything that is happening - good or bad.
My doctor has suggested that I come off effexor (which i have been on for over 2 years) and start taking Wellbutrin XL. I was to take both of them for 1 week and then stop the effexor and take Wellbutrin only. I have not been feeling very good very tense, anxious, lightheaded and chest pains. I spoke to a pharmasist who suggested stopping the effexor straight away and continuing with the Wellbutrin.

wants me to take Effexor 37.5mg twice daily to help with the hot flashes and mood swings. My concern is that I was previously on Zoloft 50mg. and it gave me real bad headaches raised my blood pressure and sent me on a emergent run to the hsp. emergency room,,I am concerned about starting this medicience that it will cause the same problems or worse. My O.B. says they are different and that I should try the effexor. What does everyone else think?
My allergist has not prescibed cortisone because it is only a short term solution and the hives usually come back with a vengence. I am presently controlling my Hives with 10 mg of Zyrtec and then 50 mg of Benadryl, both taken at night. Here is a list of potenial hive aggravating foods and medications: beer, berries, chocolate, citrus, nuts, shellfish, tomatoes, wine. Medications: Aspirin, Non-steroidal/ antiinflammatory drugs (such as Alleve, Advil, etc), and codeine preparations.
