Now I'm taking a 50mg dose of tramadol for dental problems. And occaisenly a m357 vicodin. Also a bunch of b vitamins and c vitamins. I also drink a lot. And really with what dental work I've had done this past week hardly ate anything in a week. Anyone have any commits on this? Just checking out other thoughts. Thanks.

Avatar n tn Sounds like a plan. You and your doctor may have to work on finding the best balance of medication. Try to be patient, but don't hesitate to let your doctor know if you have any concerns.
Avatar m tn I was taking Bupropion and Lamictal, and switched to Effexor. I have been on Effxor for three weeks. I have had the worst fatigue I have ever felt. So now I am unsure if it was coming off the Lamictal or if it was the Effexor. I am going to stop the Effexor, but I don't know if I should go back on just the Lamictal, The lamictal When I first started taking it, up to 200 mg worked fairly well. I guess my question is, is , has this kind of fatigue been know to be a side effect with Effexor?
Avatar m tn I has been diagnosed by a psychiatrist as severe anxiety, depression, insominia, and paranoid schizophrenia. The medications I am on is Effexor Xr 225mg, Neurontin 100mg tid, Thorazine 200mg at night, and stop taking Zyprexa 5mg. Avatar f tn all that I am a 29 yr old NICU RN that was diagnosed with Adult ADD, Not ADHD, @10 yrs ago. I had been trying to study for nursing school needing 6-8 espresso shots a day so I got on Adderall. I've tried other things over the years, but always came back to it. I've always been a situational depressive person so through a hard time, worst time of my life, my de put me on TWO antidepressants.... Maxes out on Effexor XR and Lexapro. Honestly, I did need it at the time.
Avatar n tn All meds come with side effects. It's wonderful that we have them to help us but we could sure do with those side effects. Wellbutrin is different from Effexor, it's a stimulating med. I took Effexor myself and was sleeping way too much just like you. I think that's why your Dr prescribed the Wellbutrin, to give you more energy. Are you only taking the Ativan once a day? If your still feeling agitated and irritable at this dose don't be afraid to tell your Dr.
Avatar f tn My 10 year old son has ADHD inattentive type and anxiety. We are just starting to treat the anxiety now. He took celexa and I didn't see a difference in his anxiety. We weaned him off of it and took a 2 week hiatus from antidepressants and just gave him his focalin. We now switched him to concerta (lasts longer than focalin)...and added Prozac. Teacher really likes the results at school. However...evenings are hectic. He becomes very silly and immature.
12043143 tn?1423151465 30 years ago I was DX with depression, then I started feeling like I was ADD a few years thereafter. 15 years ago was given script for Prozac which worked okay and not fabulously, but that was then. 4 years ago was given Pristiq for depression and loved, loved, loved that until I lost my medical insurance for two years. 9 months ago was being treated for ADHD - Predominantly ADD and given a script for Adderall which didn't help and 225 mg/day of Effexor.
Avatar f tn Ya Jen, you really do need a new doctor. Finding one could be interesting because it sounds like you are in a small town. What you can find is information! I recently recommended these sites because they have more of an adult orientation. Take a look at them and see if that answers some of your questions. If you still feel like ADD is something you might have, its possible that you may have to travel a bit to find a doctor that will treat you.
673186 tn?1225983925 so Effexor is kind of like a mild stimulant like Wellbutrin cause I was kinda thinking about try that.
Avatar n tn You may need to have the dose changed up or down (with your doctor of course) Your doctor could add another anti-anxiety agent TO your Effexor. I have been on Effexor 13 years and my doctor added BuSpar to it-I have no anxiety unless I'm REALLY stressed out & that's more circumstantial. There is a list of many drugs used for anxiety on WebMd or Drugs.com.
540310 tn?1343624120 I was prescribed Dexamphetamine(dexies) For the adhd, Effexor for the depression and currently trying to find a mood stabelizer tried tegretol years ago didn't work just tried lithium and it made me really ill and now i am about to start taking Lamictal. i was told by my doc to try taking the half of lithium but it still continued to make me sick so I stopped Although the lithium was working really well it helped alot with the adhd.
Avatar f tn first let me ask what is your diagnois? i am taking 2 types of meds for adhd and depression (these are needed) but i am trying to find an alternative meds (homepathic root)or something more natural. not easy to do. but 8 kinds wow!! always be aware and research your meds before the dr puts you on something. drs are happy go lucky with meds when all you can do is either take them or research them.
Avatar m tn I've been on Effexor for 18 months and was on 150mg, I dropped to 75mg around 5 months ago and have felt very bad since. Ongoing sinus problems, Blocked nose, headaches etc. 8 Weeks ago I dropped to 37.5mg a day, then after 4 weeks started breaking the pills in half. As I have Fybromyalgia I was advised to switch to Duloxetine as it would help the pain from Fybromyalgia as well as having Anti Anxiety / Depression benefits.
5757880 tn?1395578022 But, I think, from all I have read that ADHD is the biggest cause as the person tries to cope with the ADHD. And frankly, if you were a part of it or not, doesn't matter. What does matter is that you are a part of helping him deal with it. In terms of your anxiety question. My go-to-guy for this is Dr. Charles Parker at Corepsyc. I had to go back over a lot of stuff to find specific answers.
Avatar n tn I'm only 19 with ADHD, depression/anxiety issues. I had been on Effexor XR 75 mg for 6 years and Paxil 20 mg for 4 years. My liver enzymes (ALT 120) were elevated and both psychiatrist and primary doctor agreed to discontinue these drugs. I was tapered off each drug one at a time over a 6 week period plus my Straterra 60mg for ADHD. It has now been 3 weeks since no further meds. I experienced severe withdrawals including: vomiting (first 3 days), nausea (for abt.
Avatar f tn I had the same experience with SSRIs in the beginning. I started taking Lamictal and ramped it up to 200mg along with Effexor and Abilify. That's my list for now with no complaints. I still feel myself cycle up and down but the highs and lows are much less. I'm definitely more balanced and much much less depressed. Finding what works for you is the hard part. Just don't get frustrated and give up looking for relief.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with ADHD, depression, and anxiety (not sure if generalized or social). I have been taking Celexa 40mg for 8 months and Adderall 20mg XR for 2 months. Celexa initially worked well—felt genuinely happy and anxiety mostly disappeared.
Avatar n tn I am a 58 yr. old who was recently dx. with ADHD. It should be noted here that I have a hx. of anxiety problems and depression. I have been on 75 mg. effexor for sometime now, and Ativan PRN for anxiety. I also have mild mitral valve prolapse which was dx. prob. 25 years ago, not taking anything for that but go yearly for echo, and have occasional stress tests. For the ADHD I have been prescribed Adderall XR 15 mg. once daily thus far.
1178787 tn?1265166908 I was diagnosed depression, anxiety disorder and ADHD about 3 years ago. My mother committed suicide 3 years ago and suffered from manic depression and anxiety disorder. I think my depression is getting much worse.I am on all three medications right now and ...
Avatar m tn Since I knew someone with ADHD I knew a little bit about what it was, but not a lot. The doc prescribed me Adderall 20mg XR. One per day. At first my life simply put, turned around overnight. I just had a bad break-up with my long-term girlfriend but instead of sitting at home watching ESPN; I was out and about! Exercising, lifting weights, making new friends, reading a lot more (mostly self-help books) and overall feeling like this life of mine is now mine to live for the first time!
Avatar m tn Of course, not positive on that - but anxiety is a very strong co-disorder of adhd. And, I feel it is even stronger in adult undiagnosed adhd. So if you are now treating the possible cause of your anxiety - then that is good. And, I have seen this reported many times with adults. And yes, if you do not have adhd, amphetamines should scare you. But, there is a lot of bad press as they don't seem to understand the difference between the brain differences (and thus the need) for them.
Avatar n tn it should be noted I have mitral valve prolapse and am on Effexor 75 mg for depression and take Ativan PRN for axiety. Anyway, problem is that everyday since I started taking the Adderall when it kicks in I experience chest tightness and it seems to extend to my back and down my arms. It's weird, it's almost the same symptoms I use to experience when I was extremely stressed and would get anxiety symtoms in my chest. Just wondered what your thoughts are about this.
