smoking

Avatar f tn What are the side effects of smoking when pregnant? Did any of u girls smoke when u were pregnant? I'm 16 weeks and trying to quit but it a lot harder than I thought .
Avatar n tn If/when you try Flec, just be aware of the symptom list, trying not to let the list suggest side-effects, and if any of the bad ones start consider going to ER. I have a colleague who is now in his early 70s and he has been on Flec for at least 10 years to stop atrial fibrillation or flutter, and it works for him. He is still working and doing world-wide travel, so whatever side-effects he feels don't seem to slow him down.
Avatar n tn his hacking defintely could be cigarettes, marijuana, or smoking heroin(its called chasing the dragon), snorting really doesnt cause that, ive tried it all and i hack up alot because of smoking weed and cigarettes now and then..best of luck with you and your son..stay strong..if you have any other questions about treament or anything drug related feel free to write to me anytime...
Avatar m tn Marijuana can cause panic attacks in some people. Mainly in people who have been smoking for a long time, however, I suffered panic attacks after only 4 months of smoking. Marijuana stimulates the pleasure cells in your brain. If you wan't a scientific answer do a web search. Personally, marijuana affects on me were : increased taste, increased hunger, increased sense of hearing, increased sexual pleasure, increased interest in simple or mundane activities, increased paranoia, and sedation.
Avatar n tn Dizziness, lightheadedness, drowsiness, tiredness, constipation, diarrhea, stomach upset/gas, nausea, trouble sleeping or unusual dreams may occur as your body adjusts to the medication. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly. Remember that your doctor has prescribed this medication because he or she has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. Many people using this medication do not have serious side effects.
Avatar m tn Not all centers consider marijuana an automatic disqualification - about 70% do. How the other 30% factor pot use into liver transplant eligibility probably varies somewhat from center to center. When I was transplanted in June 2000 I asked about pot smoking and the transplant surgeon told me that they had never denied a liver because of pot. Perhaps my center has changed its policy but I wouldn't be surprised if it hasn't.
Avatar f tn Why cannot so many anti-smoking professional see, that at that point of time, it is impossible to introduce total abstinence and yet there is a system on the market, that could help achieve the very thing these people want, which is to stop others smoking and nicotine can be used in a safer delivery system? https://www.thunderclap.
Avatar f tn There is an addiction tracker you can use to track your consumption of smoking. If you've already quit, just indicate the last day you smoked and the associated ticker will count how many days you've been clean. Give it a try: http://www.medhelp.
Avatar n tn i also have alot of random thoughts and alot of things remind me of people usual they just pop into my head. im trying to figure out whats going on and if it will just go away?
Avatar m tn You are not going to do permanent damage to your brain from a couple nights of drinking and smoking pot. I don't mean to encourage doing things that have some risk of creating dependency, but the actions of cannabis are temporary-- as are most of the effects of alcohol-- provided you aren't drinking to the point of alcohol toxicity (for example, drinking so much that you pass out, repeatedly).
Avatar n tn The severity of the difference would also be dependant on the length of your Herceptin treatment. Oncologists monitor these side effects very closely and I'm sure your Onc. will take this into consideration and discuss the risks of continuing your treatment. The longer the treatment the less the incidence of heart damage but each case is different. Regards ....
Avatar f tn I only chose cough because I had to choose something so take no notice of that one. Ok so I'll get my diagnosed illnesses out the way first.... Asthmatic. 42 year old ex smoker. Several stone overweight. Recently been diagnosed with emphysema. Had recent heart echo - no abnormalities found My symptoms from the head down. All have only appeared since stopping smoking 2.5 years ago Stupidly greasy hair, dont even get 24 hours before its greasy again.
Avatar m tn An x-ray cannot detect smoke, especially to a light smoker like you. However, the effects of smoking are diagnosed via x-ray, including emphysema and lung cancer. But there is a different case for heavy smokers, as the x ray result shows changes in the interstitial markings referred to as dirty lungs.
Avatar n tn There is not much standardized research done on this due to the illegal nature of marijuana. You can find MANY websites on the effects of cannibis and blood sugar, though and I am surprised you are on this one asking questions. Do you really think someone is gonna get on this site and admit to breaking the law????? Please!
Avatar m tn keith richards should be on this list also... but, i think he is one of the lucky ones, cleared on his own i think he prob just has the antibodies... both his ex's have it anita pallenburg and marianne faithful... im wondering about these people, all musicians, all used to shoot up: Eric Clapton Bobby Keys Charlie Watts Ozzie Osborne and every member of guns & roses and motley crue and anyone still alive from the punk explosion of the late '70's...
Avatar f tn I have a close friend who has been addicted to marijuana for a long time, she also smoked during her pregnancy and no they did not test her for it when she gave birth. I don't know much on the effects of marijuana use during pregnancy but I strongly suggest that you look into that for the benefit of the baby. I know that she breastfed for quite a while, continuing to pass the drug onto her child. Our sons are the same age and have been friends since infancy.
Avatar f tn I still continued to smoke for a couple of days, but only a couple of puffs from my husbands cigarette 2-3 times a day, then I looked online about the effects off smoking whilst pregnant and quit straight away! There are times when I would like a cigarette but I care for my unborn baby a million times more than a dirty fag! Honestly the best thing you can do is quit, every time you smoke your babies tiny heartbeat has to beat extremely fast as it struggles for oxygen!
Avatar f tn Choosing to smoke because of your personal habit puts your child at risk, even if its a small risk, it is still a risk. For preterm labor, low birth weight, asthma, and a list of other issues. Its not worth it and part of being a mother is sacrificing drugs in order to have a healthy baby. Some women dont care, and arent educated and will tell u "its ok", but no one can stop u. Its your choice. It isnt worth it in my opinion.

Avatar f tn Perhaps. It's not been studied enough to make it to the list of potential side effects (either common or rare) at this point. But I don't doubt what you've posted.
Avatar f tn One of the things I did was make a list of all the reasons I was quitting and carried it with me. Having a baby was top of that list. After I became pregnant, I carried around his first ultrasound picture with me to remind me. Research the possible negative effects smoking can have on your unborn child...low birthweight, asthma and other illness, etc. etc. I can guarantee that will also help. Quit before you get pregnant.
Avatar f tn If you stop smoking, that's the best thing you can do. You are young, you've only smoked a couple of cigarettes and you can reverse the effects if you quit. Good for you for being concerned about it! Be tough and stop smoking now!
Avatar f tn Look up some articles if you want to know the effects of smoking. You don't want to put anything into your body tat isn't good for either of you while you are pregnant. I don't know of any doctors who would encouraged you to continue smoking unless you are stressing out more from not smoking.
