This was because of the vast variety of uses that came from this plant; clothing, medicine, food, etc. Hemp can replace cotton, and that is another reason the government was pushed against it's growth/use. Cotton uses ALOT of pesticides (which are obviously bad for the earth) it also makes the land of which cotton is grown on UNUSABLE afterwards. Hemp/Marijuana needs NO PESTICIDES!
And of course, smoking industrial hemp, which most hemp is made of, would just give you a raging headache. Wasn't really suggesting anyone smoke hemp. But traditional medicine would have made a tincture out of the whole plant, and it probably wouldn't have been very potent and probably wouldn't have worked.
I used to smoke but had to quit in order to get the pain meds that I need very much to help control chronic pain from RSD. The only bad side-effect from smoking weed is jail time.... & the fact that you can't get the medicines you need if you smoke!! It's a God given plant, made on the 6th day of Creation, I believe. God looked at ALL He had made & deemed it ALL good!!!
Right before he began to lobby for the ban on marijuana and all hemp made products in the USA, he had purchased many paper mills. Ones that cut down TREES to make paper instead of using hemp. Hemp is a renewable source of paper making. But he didn't invest into hemp farms. He was investing into saw mills and that cut trees and made paper from them.

I'm a little confused -- you say you want more protein. Is this a body building thing, because there are a lot of vegetarian foods high in protein. Brown rice powder isn't one of them -- brown rice protein is, but that's protein isolated from brown rice, whereas hemp powder is just powdered hemp, which as a seed will have some protein but is mostly nutritious for its omega 3 fatty acids. I sell skincare and body care products. Hemp lotion does wonders! I live in the Canadian prairies and our winters are very brutal. Hemp lotion is my best selling item all year round. Hemp has healing properties and is natural so it shouldn't sting. I'm not sure if you live somewhere that has the body shop but they have the best hemp products by far. Maybe try putting a thick layer of lotion on your feet and put on cotton socks over night. Hopefully it works out for you.
Marijuana can cause panic attacks in some people. Mainly in people who have been smoking for a long time, however, I suffered panic attacks after only 4 months of smoking. Marijuana stimulates the pleasure cells in your brain. If you wan't a scientific answer do a web search. Personally, marijuana affects on me were : increased taste, increased hunger, increased sense of hearing, increased sexual pleasure, increased interest in simple or mundane activities, increased paranoia, and sedation.

ok i have had the same experience with the hemp lotion to except i have broke out in little small rashes that are blotchy and extremely itchy!& the more i itch them the more it spreads!

You are not going to do permanent damage to your brain from a couple nights of drinking and smoking pot. I don't mean to encourage doing things that have some risk of creating dependency, but the actions of cannabis are temporary-- as are most of the effects of alcohol-- provided you aren't drinking to the point of alcohol toxicity (for example, drinking so much that you pass out, repeatedly).
