Avatar f tn s what I thought, plus the affects of smoking while pregnant seem to be way worse than the withdrawals to me..
Avatar f tn What are the side effects of smoking when pregnant? Did any of u girls smoke when u were pregnant? I'm 16 weeks and trying to quit but it a lot harder than I thought .
Avatar n tn One of the side effects of smoking is small birth weight and I smoked til 4 months pregnant with my youngest and she was nearly 10lbs so that's not true but I don't like the idea of my flump absorbing all toxins x
Avatar n tn Also I had an information leaflet that told me how not smoking for whatever amount of hours /days /weeks etc affected mine and my babys health. I also watched the effects of smoking had on an unborn baby on YouTube and that was really eye opening. And people saying that it is more harm to the baby quitting cold turkey is absolute rubbish!!
Avatar f tn So truth is I used to be a pack a day smoker. Once I found out I was pregnant I quit smoking immediatly. i'm 15w3d and past the everything makes me sick so i'm starting to crave a cigarette and finding it harder and harder to resist when I do crave one. I had stopped smoking by the pack and got an ecigarette which is just water vapor and nicotine. I'm trying terribly not to use it or smoke a real cigarette but i'm failing.
Avatar f tn Google how smoking effects your baby. One was it increases the risk of sids (sudden infant death syndrome). That alone should be enough for someone to quit but a lot of moms turn a blind eye to the negative side effects. Best of luck quitting! !!
Avatar n tn Hi I'm currently 24/3 & used to smoke 1.5- 2packs a day. well now I'm down to 4 cigarettes a day but can't find the courage to quit completely have any of you guys smoked while pregnant and had a completely healthy baby? someone please ease my mind!!
Avatar f tn Lower the amount of oxygen and nutrient available your growing baby. Increase your baby's heart rate. Increase the chances of miscarriage and stillbirth. Increase the risk that your baby is born prematurely and/or born with low birth weight. Increase your baby's risk of developing respiratory (lung) problems. The more cigarettes you smoke per day, the greater your baby's chances of developing these and other health problems.
Avatar f tn reading that rude young ladies posts she has made herself she sounds like the one who needs help. I know quitting is hard, I was smoking for a few weeks after finding out I was pregnant because I was so stressed and couldn't eat (I was smoking pot) and I just felt terrible knowing I have a life inside of me so I quit cold turkey. it's easier when u have people supporting u and gave things to distract u. good luck mommy!

Second hand smoke has been shown to be just as harmful.
Avatar f tn Im 5 weeks pregnant now.. & I'm having a hard time quiting smoking cigarettes. What's every ones opinion on smoking while pregnant? Smoking 1-2 cigarettes per day!!
Avatar f tn That post was for cigarettes only.
Avatar f tn I believe that the effects of Chantix on a pregnant woman or on the embryo are unknown as it has not been tested on pregnant women. Basically, this means it is not safe to take while pregnant (since the adverse affects are unknown). Regarding the patch vs. cigarettes, they both deliver nicotine, which is dangerous when pregnant and can cause miscarriage. The difference is that the patch doesn't have all the tar and other cr ap that enters your lungs.
Avatar f tn we are completely healthy and the best advice I have is stay away from smokers as much as possible, keep a tally of every day you go without a cigarette (or get a handy app that keeps track for you) and every time you want one, look up the benefits of quitting smoking, and the detrinent smoking cigarettes while pregnant is! (: good luck ma'am!
Avatar f tn I was wondering if smoking weed while pregnant could have any effect on the baby? & what kind of effects if there are any. I myself am not pregnant, but one of my best friend's is and she is saying that there would be no harm done to the baby.
Avatar n tn My doctor even said the amount of exhaust coming out the back of vehicles, breathing that in is equivalent to smoking a couple cigarettes. He's not worried about it? I'm not either. I was in the beginning, but he reassured me everything's fine. Don't stress out too much! If you quit cold turkey, can result in a miscarriage or even premature labor! You'll be fine.
Avatar f tn You must already know the right answer. No smoking at all, not even a couple a day. And you should'nt be around other people that are smoking.
Avatar f tn After you finish one beer an hour later you are safe to breastfeed. And as for cigarettes I think by this time everyone is aware of what cigarette smoking does to you. I have been a smoker for half of my life and quit not long ago hardest thing to do and no I dont want to smoke after the baby is born but I am pretty sure that I will have at least a couple cigarettes and no it will not be in the house around the baby.
Avatar f tn I will say this cigarettes are a lot worse than weed during pregnancies do your research on weed while pregnant and cigarettes while pregnant let us know y'all come up with..I was just at the doctors and this lady had a cigarette in her mouth 8 months pregnant but if it was a joint the police would have been called moms should get arrested for cigarettes just like weed...cigarettes kills adults so what do u think it does to a baby? what does weed do to adults?exactly!!!!
Avatar n tn I smoked for about 2 years and when I found out I was pregnant, I finished my pack of cigarettes and haven't picked one up since. But with morning sickness and a heightened sense of smell I found it hard to even make myself smoke. I quit for a few months before I got pregnant. I picked up another habit, running. I would run 2-3miles a day or every other day after work and when I was finished I just didn't want to smoke.
Avatar f tn Same with cigarettes. While it’s not super deadly there is a chance of complications so I should avoid it for at least nine month!!!” You just gotta find something that will encourage you, what ever it may be!!! Knowing that I have a little baby on a way is the biggest encouragement I could possible have!!!
Avatar f tn Try reading Allan Carr's quit smoking book, you can smoke while your reading but by the end of the book you have to have your last one. It teaches you to be conscious of every single puff & the taste etc.. Things smokers know deep down but are all too stubborn to admit. But at the end of the day you have to want to quit :-) Good luck & just remember every one you don't have is a WIN even if you fall off the wagon, just keep trying!!
7484450 tn?1391237527 Just for my on conscience I WOULD NOT do it. Because we don't know the side effects of smoking weed!!! I would not jeopardize my baby's life or the possibility of having my baby taken away. Because what if the temptation goes stronger after that one and u can't ignore it. So please for the health and well being of your baby, plz refrain from this. And if you continue after you and baby are home plz don't smoke around the baby. Hoping baby is well and no side effects, good luck!!!
