smoking

Avatar f tn //pregnancy.doctissimo.com/pregnancy-health/pregnancy-cigarettes-and-alcohol/tobacco-pregnancy-a-high-risk-combination.html) :( Do you have any advice to help me quit smoking (while my husband is a smoker!) Thank you very much everyone !
Avatar f tn No your baby is fine I had smoked sometimes during my pregnancy and though it is wrong an half a cig wont harm the baby it is the consistency of smoking cigarettes that can..
Avatar f tn If you are pregnant it is good that you stopped smoking weed. Not only is the action of smoking itself is detrimental to the health of the baby, but we do not know how cannabis intake can affect the developing brain. If you were using it for nausea, you may have hyperemesis gravidarum, a condition that causes excessive nausea and vomiting during early stages of pregnancy.
Avatar f tn I still continued to smoke for a couple of days, but only a couple of puffs from my husbands cigarette 2-3 times a day, then I looked online about the effects off smoking whilst pregnant and quit straight away! There are times when I would like a cigarette but I care for my unborn baby a million times more than a dirty fag! Honestly the best thing you can do is quit, every time you smoke your babies tiny heartbeat has to beat extremely fast as it struggles for oxygen!
Avatar f tn A lot of people smoke cigarettes and drink booze before they find out they are pregnant, quit, and then go on to have healthy normal pregnancies.
Avatar f tn I have a close friend who has been addicted to marijuana for a long time, she also smoked during her pregnancy and no they did not test her for it when she gave birth. I don't know much on the effects of marijuana use during pregnancy but I strongly suggest that you look into that for the benefit of the baby. I know that she breastfed for quite a while, continuing to pass the drug onto her child. Our sons are the same age and have been friends since infancy.
Avatar f tn t smoked for a couple of weeks. Important only 11was pregnant so am really happy. The stop smoking headlines and groups are really good too and you can get info and help from your midwife.
Avatar f tn I have taken these few days to do some searching through the medical literature and while there are many worrisome reports cropping up about the effects on the adult users, there is precious little on the effects in pregnancy, and nothing at all on the long term effects on children who have been effected. Spice is as relatively new "stuff" on the market, but what is know about it is very alarming. Professor John W.
Avatar f tn Google how smoking effects your baby. One was it increases the risk of sids (sudden infant death syndrome). That alone should be enough for someone to quit but a lot of moms turn a blind eye to the negative side effects. Best of luck quitting! !!
Avatar n tn no the size of a penis has nothing to do with getting pregnant. i heard a woman and man should stop smoking, she should take prenatal vitamins.
7933716 tn?1396130374 do any moms smoke cigetettes with there pregnancy because I was smoking before I was pregnant and now im trying really hard not to any more but it is sooooooo hard not especially when im in stressful situations
Avatar f tn This is my first pregnancy and I just recently found out that I will be 5 weeks on feb 24, I am a cigarette smoker as well but I quit as a result of pregnancy. Is my baby in any danger from smoking in the four weeks that I didn't know I was pregnant?? Please answer !
Avatar f tn Idk if any of these things are solely a result of smoking weed during pregnancy but i do think that smoking weed does effect the baby. Especially during early pregnancy when the babys brain is developing. Smoking weed is no better than smoking cigarettes because when smoking both you're inhaling smoke and like my doctor tells me whatever i experience the baby experience.
Avatar f tn What are the side effects of smoking when pregnant? Did any of u girls smoke when u were pregnant? I'm 16 weeks and trying to quit but it a lot harder than I thought .
Avatar f tn That is a fact, its not like that happens to only some babies, its every baby every pregnancy with anyone who smokes. So that is what made my mother strong enough to quit smoking with 3 pregnancies, she stopped a couple months before she fell pregnant because they were TTC. It's what COULD happen that matters, not what didn't happen to a friends pregnancy and baby. Stay strong all you mommies who are quitting!
Avatar f tn There are no definitive side effects from weed that we know of BUT I have a few close friends who have smoked their whole pregnancy and multiple pregnancies and their children have birth defects born early and low birth weight so I mean if you wanna chance it then I guess that's up to you but honestly I wouldn't....just because we don't know for sure what kind of effects it has in babies yet doesn't mean there isn't proof around us..
Avatar n tn HEY THERE MY DARLING IM 12 WEEKS PREGNANT NOW AND TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH IF I WAS YOU START BY SLOWING DOWN BECAUSE IF YOU ARE GOING TO START FEELING DEPRESSED ITS NOT GOING TO HELP YOUR BABY, ALSO TRY NOT TO THINK OF MIS MY SISTER SMOKED THROUGH HER PREGNANCY, ME I AM SMOKING AND I AM TRYING TO CUT DOWN BUT AT THE END OF THE DAY IM NOT GOING TO STRESS MY SELF OVER, IF PEOPLE ARE TELLING YOU HOW HARMFULL AND ALL THIS STUFF IGNORE IT.
Avatar f tn Low birth weight, increased risk of miscarriage to name just two. If you measure babies heart beat before and after smoking you can see that it raises their heart rate. Same as it does the adult who is smoking. Imagine holding a cigarette to a brand new baby's mouth, would you do it? ...... no.
Avatar f tn i smoked alot of pot , i did slow down for awhile though, during the duration of my pregnancy before i knew , ive heard both sides in saying if i stop smoking completly ill put the baby in withdrawl or if i keep smoking ill cause lung defects , i havent smoked because i dont want to risk it , im just wondering which one it is , keep smoking or stop ?
Avatar f tn Ive been smoking for over 15 years...this is my 1st pregnancy, and honestly, just the thought of my baby not being able to get enough oxygen or blood flow from me is enough to have me quit. I quit cold turkey. This child should not suffer because of my selfish digusting habit. Thats what worked for me. Good luck to ya!
Avatar f tn So I know this woman who is about as far along as I am (34weeks), and she smokes at least a cigarette everyday, and has been throughout her entire pregnancy. She told me it was because her doctor said that of she "quit cold turkey" that it could have negative effects on the baby because of with drawels, though she had plenty of time to quit by now. Is this true?? What do you guys think??
1536705 tn?1324329047 As far as I know there have not been any actual effects found for smoking weed. The literature says the only known effects are the same of that found for smoking cigarettes. Although it just cant be good for mum or baby. She needs to ensure that she is taking in the correct vitamins etc and I dont know how smoking weed effects these thing in your body. Have a chat with her.
