Avatar n tn I am hoping that my side effcts are actually symptoms of sleep apnea.
Avatar n tn It has not been mentioned but could your lack of sleep be due to the stress of the surgery and the one coming up? Maybe your afraid of not having sufficient anesthesia and fear it may not work well enough and that is interfering with your sleep. Just a thought, if you feel uncomfortable about this surgery discuss it thoroughly with your surgeon.
326352 tn?1310994295 Golly gee... such a ray of sunshine. Glad to help you, though!!! :) Naw, love my kids, but this sleep thing can (somedays, as yesterday was) be an issue big time. Of course you understand that lack of sleep wrecks havoc on the body, the diet, and the ATTITUDE towards others. Yesterday was NOT pretty. And now that I'm not taking Effexor anymore, I'm having to reign in on temper, moodiness, and tears.

Avatar f tn You sound to me like you are suffering the effects of sleep deprivation. Is there any way you could get yourself into a more regular schedule by any chance. If not, then you will just have to do what helps you the most. But I would talk tot he doctor about the Adderol. Are you officially diagnosed as ADHD or do you think you are ADHD b/c you cannot focus well? I need more clarification.

Avatar f tn As a teenager I went through a year of sleep deprivation. I got about six hours of sleep a night. I felt very sleepy every day and even had feelings of confusion and derealization. Did I cause any permanent damage to my brain? In addition, has damage caused by oxidative stress and free radicals irreversibly increased my cancer risk?

Avatar m tn Then an extended family member was killed in the military and I had to plan the local service while the parents were out of state at the memorials on the base. And I was the point person for coordinating media communications. I was unable to grieve as I had too much to do. Then the agency I worked for took on the task of helping a family whose children had been removed from the home due to living conditions.
620048 tn?1358018235 The sleep deprivation is a killer. I struggle with it always. I've been on ambien for a long time and it only works intermittently only. The med that worked best for me was temazapam (generic for Restirol) but I ended up getting allergic after 5 months. I could not believe how I felt in the morning when taking that - it was wonderful and I was glad to know what a nights sleep was worth the next day. No sleep leaves you functionless and like a zombie in every way - mentally, physically.

Avatar f tn For me, the physical side of the w/d's were a cake walk compared to the mental side. All of it was hell, don't get me wrong but tomorrow will be day 30 for me and I'm still battling anxiety and depression. Not as bad as the first 2 weeks but still bad enough to know that I don't like it. You can do this. I have never been one to follow through w/ anything in my life so if I can do this, anyone can! Best of luck to you.

Avatar m tn For about a whole week I would down 3-5 (give or take) cans of soda and hardly any food with it, and about 10-13 cans on the day of my party. So my current concern is this; on the 6th, late at night, I noticed that I began to feel really weak and shakey (like how you feel when you haven't eaten). I hadn't eaten anything but 2 pieces of cake and ice cream that whole day and had been physically exhausted, so I thought "I just need some food and I'll be okay.
Avatar f tn Some discuss sleep primarily as a means to end a migraine attack, and think of sleep deprivation as a triggering factor. While others have emphasized excessive sleep itself as triggering factors. Patients with chronic recurrent headaches sometimes experience a worsening of headaches at certain times of life. Once you are in a bad headache cycle such as you describe, any sensory input may aggravate headaches, especially certain types of lighting.

519592 tn?1211919961 It seems you are now under lot of stress causing you the sleep deprivation. You might be suffering from obstructive sleep apnea and associated rhythmic movement disorder, which you need to get evaluated by a sleep doctor and also get a sleep test done. How about your blood pressure? Stress can trigger your migraine headache, which in turn worsens the sleep deprivation. It is better to consult a neurologist and a sleep specialist and discuss your plan of care.
Avatar m tn First off - deep breaths. You said yourself that more than likely what you're feeling is linked to sleep deprivation. I'd suggest you actually let your body rest. You might also want to stay away from caffeine for a bit considering that makes the heart race. If you feel as though there's more to this, I suggest speaking to a cardiologist.
