Avatar f tn And congratulations on wanting to get your life back and to the new life you have in you. Lots of great people will give you mor advice and are more experienced/knowledgeable. From other posts I have read I would say see your dr and be honest with him. He can help you with what you are going threw. There are others how have gone threw this pregnant and can tell you there stories. I read others say that the withdrawals you feel your baby can feel also.
Avatar m tn Since Lupron acts to decrease testosterone levels in order to control the prostate cancer, this will really result in some degree of impotence. If you have trouble getting an erection, maybe you can explore other ways of expressing your sexuality with your partner without resorting to the usual genital intercourse. Remember that the genitals are not the only erogenous zones in a person's body. You and your partner can focus on stimulating these other areas.
Avatar f tn m not a doctor but I know my wife was given percocet for a kidney stone during her pregnancy and the doctors were not concerned about harmfull effects from proper short term use.
Avatar f tn For two years roughly i have been prescribed Percocet 10/325 to be taken 3-4 times daily for a fracture in my lower back cause from a diving accident. I am currently 38 and 1/2 weeks pregnant and beginning to feel the onset of labor any day now. My main concern at this point is based upon the fact i have not received a solid answer from my doctor regarding whether or not she beleives my baby will have withdrawals.

Avatar f tn Pregnancy Category C Animal reproductive studies have not been conducted with PERCOCET. It is also not known whether PERCOCET can cause fetal harm when administered to a pregnant woman or can affect reproductive capacity. PERCOCET should not be given to a pregnant woman unless in the judgment of the physician, the potential benefits outweigh the possible hazards. 176495 tn?1301280412 My wife takes 5mg percocet (as prescribed) for chronic pain daily...she has noticed a marked decrease in her vision since doing so and I'd like to know if any users have had similar reactions..she only has vision in one eye anyway and doesn't need to jeopordize that. Of course her doctor told her "no" and also haze her taking Ibuprofin...she was talking to the pharmacist earlier today who told her DON'T DO THAT...

600857 tn?1230057770 Thanks for the support. I will try to ask for a little back, but honestly, it's so hard for me. My husband works a very demanding job 12-14hrs 6 days a week plus a 2nd job on weekends. Sometimes it's hard for him to see me in pain and in need of help. When he was ill earlier this year, I was at his side 24/7. Now with all my ailments, I find him wanting to work more and more. I guess thats his way of dealing with things.
Avatar f tn from the effects of the narcotic. Do you crave the next percocet? Two to three per day is not a significant amount. Most ppl that become addicted or are addicted take many more than 2 or 3 a day. If you are having withdrawal (and I doubt it) a NSAID will not help much, if at all with it. However they won't hurt either as long as you watch the amount of acetaminophen(tylenol) you are taking on a daily basis. Do not exceed the recommended dosage.
Avatar f tn Well what comes to mind is Percocet is a compound drug that has tylenol and oxycodone in it. One of the side effects listed in my PDR is hearing loss. Maybe she is having some ringing in her ears and thats what the 'machines' sound like to her? she may need to go see a hearing specialist. Instead of a pediatrician, I'd skip that step and go straight to an ENT doctor.
Avatar f tn I'm wondering if anyone has taken narcotics early in pregnancy.. Ie.Percocet/dilaudid. Long story stort, I was diagnosed with kidney stones septemper 18th and found out I was pregnant a week later. The baby was planned but the stones were not, haha. Anyway, after finding out I was pregnant I attempted to stop using the Percocets, but the kidney stone pain was too severe to be controlled by Tylenol Alone and I resorted back to taking Percocet for pain maganement.
893913 tn?1245510893 I have a lot of elements testing me, pressuring me to get back on the percocet so I can have some kind of perk in my life. But I'm sticking to the suboxone and hoping for a bit of relief in those moments of sadness and anxiety and body hot flashes. Just sitting around. No energy, and when I move, I start sweating. Tough times right now.
Avatar f tn s relatively safe in pregnancy except that your baby may be born addicted to it (if you have to take it for the length of your pregnancy) in which case the baby may be more fussy than others and they need to wean the baby off of it. I once had a severe migraine while I was TTC and ended up in emerg. They administered morphine rather than other migraine drugs because it was safest to use in pregnancy.
Avatar m tn I have a family member who swears up and down she only took the small amount that was prescribed to her for back pain in the last few weeks of her pregnancy. There has been a lot of suspicion about what was really going on with her throughout the pregnancy and she was known to take opiods before getting pregnant. Now the baby has been born and is experiencing withdrawals.
Avatar m tn Examples of these would be heroine, opium, morphine and codeine. An opioid is a synthetic drug made to mimic the effects of an opiate. These would be Percocet, Fentanyl, Methadone, Oxy, Demerol, etc. Opiates are said to be more addictive. As far as your question about receptors....yes there are differences. I used to say opiate and opioids not knowing the difference until I googled "Opiate vs Opioid" a couple years ago.
Avatar f tn Im taking one percocet 10-325 wih three 300mg of gabapentin every 6hrs.Its not helping with chronic arthritis that has taken over my body, sciatica, carpal tunnel on both hands(had surgery on one already) restless leg syndrome. Also, had knee replacement on one leg(2 yrs ago) and have to get one on the other. What can i use instead? .. I've taken the highest mgs. of percocet and vicodin switching between both and weaning between both. And done that, did that on the cortisone shots.
Avatar f tn Thanks, everyone. I was on oxycontin 40 mg. 3 x day before the patch. The breakthrough med was the same. I don't seem to feel the hot flash unless I take the BT med. (Of course, I keep thinking maybe it's just hot flashes from perimenopause; I'm at that age. Though I hadn't had them before.) I am really unfamiliar with a lot of the BT meds. I sort of thought the options were Percocet/oxycodone, Vicodin/hydrocodone, or morphine.
Avatar n tn I have 3 children and we are considering a fourth in the next year and a half. With each pregnancy, my abdomen has become more stretched and I'm left with an "overhang" or an "apron" of tissue no matter how many toning exercises I do. My first question, and I'm pretty sure I know what the answer will be, do insurance companies generally pay anything for the procedure and if not, what is the average cost?
