Avatar m tn I have 20 years and I have HIV positive person. I drink medicines already 4 months. I use drugs Truvada and Efavirenz Teva. Please tell me how to code your disease treated? Whether you are at injection instead of pills?
Avatar n tn Are there still any evidence of efavirenz teratogenicity in human studies especially on the neuro tube defect
Avatar f tn 1 hours ago I had protected sex with a sex worker which ended with a failed condom(punched) and then hour later i went to consult doctor and he prescribed EFAVIRENZ and LAMZID.AM I STIL SAFE?
Avatar m tn Since that time, he is receiving HAART with lamivudine-zidovudine-efavirenz twice daily, but he told me that there are some days ( at maximun 3) that he does not take the pills, but most days of the month he is adhering to the treatment. His current viral load is 39,000 copies/ml. When I realized of him diagnosis, I went to a doctor who gave me profilaxis about 18 hours post-exposure with lamivudine-zidovudine.
Avatar m tn Can cocaine metabolites bind to sperm and be carried to the female egg causing damage? Are cocaine metabolites toxic? Does the female body reject sperm with foreign matter on them during sperm capacitation or other stages? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Avatar n tn i was urine tested several weeks ago and passed then they came back and said i had eddp-ms in my urine which is methadone metabolites but i havent taken metadone i am however on several medications for bi-polar dissorder and was wondering what if anything would cause me to test positive for the metabolites but not the methadone
Avatar n tn I am an HIV + male. 43 on truvada/ efavirenz for 2 year with a count of minus 20(undetectable). I was penetrated twice last week where the condom broke and was NOT replaced. The "top" partner is aware of my hiv status. What are the chances of infection for him and apart from testing what should be done? I am otherwise very healthy, no cuts, blood or aparent bruising was detected. I am freaking out for him.
Avatar f tn Vitamin D metabolites as clinical markers in autoimmune and chronic disease. Journal: Ann N Y Acad Sci. 2009 Sep;1173:384-90. Authors: Blaney GP, Albert PJ, Proal AD. Affiliation: Stillpoint Centre, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. This was e-mailed to me through co-cure, an organization that keeps physicians, researchers and patients in on the latest research for (mostly) Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and fibromyalgia. Avatar f tn My doctor recently put me on a combination of drugs for PEP, the drugs are lamzid and efavirenz and have very serious side effects. My exposure was licking/sucking a nipple of a non-pregnant HIV positive person. No milk came or blood came out but just had an after taste in my mouth. The act was for 2-3 seconds. What are my chances of getting HIV and are the reported cases of infection in adults, cause I know with babies you can.
Avatar n tn For ease of use, the detection times of metabolites have been incorporated into each parent drug. For example, heroin and cocaine can only be detected for a few hours after use, but their metabolites can be detected for several days in urine. In this type of situation, we will report the (longer) detection times of the metabolites. NOTE 1: Oral fluid or saliva testing results for the most part mimic that of blood. The only exceptions are THC and benzodiazepines.
Avatar m tn Using a targeted cholesterol metabolomic platform we evaluated paired HCV G2 and G3 patient sera for changes in in vivo HCV sterol pathway metabolites. We compared HCV genotypic differences in baseline metabolites and following antiviral treatment to assess whether sterol perturbation resolved after HCV eradication. We linked these metabolites to IR and urine oxidative stress markers.

Avatar f tn ) or elimination may be expected to influence the degree and extent of accumulation of the active metabolites of bupropion. The elimination of the major metabolites of bupropion may be affected by reduced renal or hepatic function because they are moderately polar compounds and are likely to undergo further metabolism or conjugation in the liver prior to urinary excretion.
Avatar m tn Welcome to the forum. Thanks for your question. Since you are under care with PEP drugs, that doctor or clinic really ought to be the primary source of information about your risk, follow-up plans, etc. Therefore, my comments are brief. Based on HIV infected persons' sexual histories of when and how they were infected, a CDC study calculated a risk of 1 HIV infection for every 10,000 episodes or performing fellatio on infected partners.
Avatar f tn Never have done methadone but says I failed for it but their isn't any metabolites detected how is this possible It states Methadone metabolite (EDDP). Negative Methadone metabolite (EDDP) level Not detected Methadone Positive Methadone level.
181575 tn?1250198786 Someone asked me about Atripla today. I figure I put my comments here. Atripla is a drug used to treat HIV. It actually consists of 3 drugs, emtricitabine and tenofovir (which also works against HBV) and efavirenz (doesn't work against HBV). Combination treatment is common practice for HIV so they combine multiple drugs into 1 pill. Of course Atripla is NOT an FDA approved therapy for HBV.
Avatar m tn m now under retro-viral treatment (Abacavir, 3TC Lamiduvina, and Efavirenz TM as known in my country), healthy, fit, high CD4 count, undetectable viral load. Recently, I met a person, we kissed and we practiced oral sex on each other. Eventhough I know my condition, and have always tried to avoid people practice fellation on me, he insisted and at the end I agreed. Now, I am really concerned about him. Could he have been infected? Should I tell him to test for HIV?
863555 tn?1239133228 Before, instead of lopinarvir/retonavir I used efavirenz, which made me high. Nice for party or sex, but otherwise pretty annoying. It turned out my HIV is resistant to efavirenz.
Avatar f tn Hi all, I have been on a combination of PEP drugs for the past week, the drugs are lamzid and efavirenz. 2 days after taking the drugs I started growing ulcers on my mouth (which has happened before) and I think one in my anus. Could this mean that I am HIV positive? I am very scared. My exposure was sucking a nipple of a woman for less than 2 seconds.
Avatar m tn On AUGUST 19TH and AUGUST 20TH, I started taking ARVs which doctor prescribed. (Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate 300mg, Lamivudine USP 600mg, Efavirenz USP 200mg). ARVs made me dizzy, so I stoppped on AUGUST 21ST and AUGUST 22ND. After the viral load result, I started ARVs again. One pill everyday regularly. 4. On AUGUST 29th, I gave blood sample for PCR-HIV QUALITATIVE: (Performed using the Roche COBAS Ampliprep/COBAS Taqman HIV-1 Qualitative Version 2.0 assay.) It turned out negative.
Avatar f tn When testing for compliance or other substances- different opiates break down into specific metabolites in your body- the testing measures those metabolites to ensure you are taking medications exactly as prescribed. Typically if there is a questionable result- the sample is retested using gas chromatography and mass. Spectrometry to confirm the result. Metabolites are only present for a set time frame- which would explain why you were negative later.
Avatar m tn I do know the literate states Oxycodone is detected for 24-48 hours following the last medication. I also know that metabolites may stay around longer. The safe answer is probably closer to 21-30 days. I hope that helps. Please share with us why you are asking. We're not here to judge. We can to help.
Avatar f tn Hi Swish, Welcome to MedHelp's Pain Management Forum. I'm glad you found us and posted your question here. As usual our Remar has offered some good information. UDT (urinary Drug Test) is a chemical science - either well or poorly understood by PMP. Chemistry was never my strong suit - and that's what UDTs are all about. It depends on the type of UDT your PMP utilized.
