Since that time, he is receiving HAART with lamivudine-zidovudine-efavirenz twice daily, but he told me that there are some days ( at maximun 3) that he does not take the pills, but most days of the month he is adhering to the treatment. His current viral load is 39,000 copies/ml.

That was a 12 week study but did not include hard to treat such as null responders, cirrhotics and HIV. These new drugs are changing the way Hep C is treated---rapidly. The future looks bright for all of us. Still have a way to go, but I am optimistic about my trial and others.
