Common Questions and Answers about Eczema zinc

eczema

Avatar m tn I have eczema in my eyebrow/upper cheek on the left side of my face. I used to have dandruff, but it has essentially cleared after using zinc shampoo a few times a week. But the skin is still greasy under my brow and on my eyelid, which results in hairs being weak and falling out. Any suggestions to clear up the greasy skin? I've tried hydrocortisone cream, but to little avail. Also, the condition seems to worsen after a night of drinking alcohol - is that part of the problem?
Avatar m tn One team of Hungarian researchers found that zinc supplementation reduced the severity of eczema symptoms in children (Orv Hetil, 1989; 130: 2465-9). Suggested dosage: 15 mg/day of zinc with 2 mg of copper (as zinc is known to deplete the body’s copper reserves). Combining this with Energy Medicine, should help treat your eczema successfully.

Avatar f tn t remember the name, but their is a cream in the adult section of the pharmacy that has zinc in it. Zinc has antibacterial and healing properties and it worked wonders when my son was younger and his arms got infected.
438513 tn?1215703374 Has anyone noticed a connection between taking Synthroid and developing eczema? My ezcema hasn't bothered me in 10-15 years, but in the three weeks since I've been on generic synthroid, it's been getting worse and worse.

Avatar n tn I was wondering if it is possible to have eczema without the affected area getting red? I have had patches of dry flaky skin on my eyelids (upper and lower) for about a month now and I've been trying moisturizers and allergy medication with little help. First, could this truely be eczema and second how should it be treated when it occurs around the eyes.

Avatar m tn Hello mepaule, There are several causes of your symptons. Infections, eczema, psoriasis, etc. The best option is to go to a dermatologist. They will look to the harden flakes and exam your scalp and will prescribe something to heal.
Avatar f tn This summer I had a lot of ice cream and I didn't know that triggered eczema until I researched more about eczema because my hands really flared up...So, I got a allergy test and I am allergic to cats, milk, dust mites, wheat, and eggs. I stopped eating all of those things, cleaned my room, stopped touching my cat. Also, before I got a allergy test my doctor gave me a cream and it really thinned out my skin really bad and made the eczema worse...
Avatar m tn Heredity conditions are other conditions leading to dents. Alopecia areata, eczema and reactive arthritis are few other conditions which may cause the appearance of dents in nails. For exact cause seeking the opinion of a dermatologist will be helpful. Best wishes and regards!
Avatar m tn I have got some fungal infection on my penis, which has been there for several months, itchy at times, not always, seems to be either ringworm or eczema, but not at all sure what it is. The skin is very dry on that part of the shaft, if I don't use any creamy or oily thing, the area gets broken at different places and those broken places get wet. What exactlt it is? Would you please suggest me any ointment/medicine?
Avatar f tn Hello, The commonest causes of vesicles in these areas would be atopic eczema followed by contact eczema. Other than that, it could be due to a viral infection. You need to get it examined from a dermatologist to confirm the diagnosis. Treatment is diagnosis specific. You should also maintain hygiene and try to keep the area clean and dry, wear loose-fitting cotton clothing. Also use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Avoid deodorant / cosmetics.
Avatar f tn I was using the cream for a patch of eczema by my mouth, so when the rash appeared I thought it was the eczema and continued to apply the cream to the spreading rash. I continued to use the cream daily for 5 months because it was the only thing that kept what I thought to be eczema at bay. After realizing what I was doing to my skin I stopped using the steroid cream and I am not using make up or face wash, just warm water. I was wondering if I can use a moisterizer or not?
Avatar f tn I swear by zinc lozenges on the first onset of a sore throat. I'm only 5 Weeks pregnant and wouldn't you know it, I have the start of a sore throat. anyone know if it's ok to take the lozenges? I know, I know, I need to ask my OB but I don't even have one in place yet since I'm so early on.
Avatar f tn Hello, Although it sounds like eczema but eczema presents with dry itchy skin. There is no itchiness in your case. So firstly seborrheic dermatitis has to be ruled out. I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how your son is doing or if you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
Avatar f tn But NEVER itchy. The dermatologist says it is eczema and we went along with that. He has gone through tons of ointments. For the last few months it has just been a minor but consistent few small areas. Never goes away, has not flared up. We continue to use the latest lotion but the doctor warned us to not use it frequently because it could thin his skin? Yet we end up using it every night because the rash is always there.
Avatar f tn It started after he had diarrhea and has been itchy and red. He has tried eczema cream and nappy rash cream but to no avail. We are now trying Antiseptic cream but it is still itchy and is now spreading to his ball sacks. We cannot afford the doctor at present and would like to know if anyone has any ideas?
