334090 tn?1203804738 My son had eczema all over his face and I used vaseline every day, I would caution against anything with cortisone at that young age, long term use does have side effects.

Avatar n tn I have dermatitis and eczema on my face and arms, so could it have been transferred through scratching to my lips? Also nothing is working (steroids, e45, aqueous cream, vaseline, chapsticks etc.) so any advice there?
Avatar m tn Go to an eczema web site. Steroids are the absolute last resort. Vaseline will do the trick. Just like robz said. I have the same problem. Steroids are horrible and should be banned.
Avatar f tn Hey same thing happened to me. It'll go away and come back. It's Eczema and unfortunately there's no cure. Since it's on your face/eye you won't be able to use normal Eczema medication. Instead use vaseline on the area every night and during the day use a heavy cream like Cetaphil (it's less greasy than vaseline) make sure you use the one with the screw top, the other isn't strong enough. For the itching use hydrocordazone.

284738 tn?1283106819 my mom said it could be from her teething but shes only 3 months old... she does have baby eczema but her cheeks look different from the other parts where she has eczema.. do you think I should be concerned?
Avatar n tn i've been experiencing a crazy itch around my lips. It's so bad that i once bled all around. i honestly do not know what it is. It's been like this for three months, basically the whole winter, and i thought that was the problem but if it was then i'm sure my lips would of healed by now. I HAVE used vaseline. I've used everything... blistex, vaseline, cortisone, burts bees, everything you name it. i am not sexually active.. i look like a clown. do i have herpes or something?
Avatar f tn Hi I have the exact same thing, havent found anything myself yet that has helped it but one thing i did find was to stop using vaseline as vaseline blocks skin pores and with eczema your skin has to breathe, it made my skin feel very sensitive and sore...so i'm using a natural cocoa butter dry skin stick, it helps soothe my red irritated skin and helps get rid of my dry skin quicker, just make sure it doesnt have vaseline in.
Avatar m tn I had a follow up question to eyelid eczema. In between flare ups of baby's eczema, is it safe to put vaseline or aquaphor on the lid a few times a day or would you recommend something else? He rubs his eyes a lot, so anything I put on the lid tends to get in them. Thank you!!
Avatar m tn I have experienced a mild form of eczema on my lips for some time now. I was treating it with Protopic ointment. It seemed to work for a while, as long as I was using it every day. However my question involves the inner part of my bottom and upper lip. It forms a rough whitish skin that compels me to bite at it or pick at it. Is this rough white skin (that appears to be dead skin by the way) part of the eczema that is affecting the part of my lips on the inside of my mouth?
Avatar f tn So I have had eczema pretty much my whole life, and I finally got a Dr that gave me the right creme to get rid of it, but now that I am pregnant, my ob says that any ointment I use should be over the counter, well I have tried just about everything, and nothing is working, in fact it seems to be getting worse. I now have very little use of my hands since that is where my eczema is attacking. I have to have someone else wash my hair, and I can't even clean my own house.
1192793 tn?1264788550 Hello, From the symptoms it sounds like eczema. Since you have a history of eczema, so definitely this needs evaluation. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps. For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used (e.g.
Avatar f tn Is Vaseline okay to put on the area?
Avatar n tn Could it be smegma? https://www.webmd.com/sex/what-is-smegma Smegma is under the foreskin, not on it, but it's worth mentioning. It could be a fungal infection, like yeast, or something like eczema. The only way to know is to get it checked out.
Avatar f tn I have inherited a very dry skin. had ashtma and eczema bad as a child but good now. I have developed very dry and thin skin on arms and lower legs - have been usin aqueous cream/30%glycerol for some time.paricularly on these areas. Could this have contributed? Would collage/keratin supplements be able to reverse any of this?
Avatar n tn ve had this red rash on my scrotum and shaft of my penis and I tried Vaseline, various Hydrocortisone Creams, various moisturizing creams and nothing seems to help. Can anybody recommend something else? Thank you.
Avatar m tn ve tried treating it with prescription medication for eczema but it had no impact. The same medicine helps eczema that I have on my foot (which I started getting just about a year ago. I've tried applying Vaseline then wearing gloves. The only thing that sometimes helps is covering it non-stop with band aids so it doesn't get any air, but the band aids are rough on my skin. I've also tried giving up gluten. I'm only 3 weeks into that but it's just spreading more.
Avatar f tn My doctors who are 3 surgeons I see each one separately, tell me not to worry about it, and keep applying vaseline on it so it will not make crust. The vaseline did help stop the build of the crust that was going on, yet the nipple is scaly (but has not ever gone worse), as well it is somehow puffy, not like the other one. I haven't been complaining of anything apart from what I mentioned earlier, I did two biopsies and other tests such as U/S and mamo which all came clean.
Avatar m tn Aveno is what worked for us, and "all free and clear" laundry soap
