eczema

Avatar f tn From the experience of our UK members we know that it is far more difficult to get proper testing and treatment there. First, TSH is a pituitary hormone that is totally inadequate as the sole diagnostic for thyroid issues. At best it is only an indicator, to be considered along with more important indicators such as symptoms and also levels of the biologically active thyroid hormones, Free T3 and Free T4 (not the same as Total T3 and T4).
Avatar f tn What is the best treatment for vaginal Eczema. I have this for years now, it comes and goes. I use Calendula gel when I have symptoms, it seems to help but not completely. Is there something that I can use that is more effective. It is very uncomfortable. Burning sensation, etc. I had a biopsy done a few years ago and results came back (SPONGIOTIC DERMATITIS) which I been told is like ECZEMA. Can you please help or have any comments regarding this condition.
Avatar m tn Hello. I have suffered from dyshidrotic eczema for over 6 years. It was on my hands and constantly itching forming blisters and it was just terrible. However I was prescribed a steroid cream and it works great. However it seems like I have patches of eczema on my elbows and one under my arm. They itch very bad, get inflammed and weep and scab over. Is this also dyshidrotic eczema? Or another type of eczema or possibly psoriasis?
2040835 tn?1329869995 Can anyone help? I was born with eczema but slowly grew out of it (I'm 32 now). I would get some mild eczema when on holidays by the sea along with my skin allergies, hayfever and asthma. This would normally bother me for up to 5 days an then would clear. I moved from Europe (UK) to Australia where I was hoping all my skin conditions would disappear forever, well at least my dermatologist back home was a strong believer of that.
Avatar m tn Does anyone have any advice on treatments in the UK for this? My doctor said I will have to just wait for it to subside, but it has been costant for months and is a dent to my confidence/well being as I dont want my ear to leak every day! Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Any tablets/sprays one can recommend?
Avatar m tn In most cases of eczema no one treatment will be effective. Medical research shows that the most effective treatment plan for eczema involves using a combination of therapies to treat the skin and making lifestyle changes(prevention of triggers and application of lots of moisturizers) to control flare-ups. If the eczema is more severe, phototherapy (a type of treatment that uses light therapy) or systemic (circulates throughout the body) medication like oral steroids may be prescribed.

Avatar m tn Hello, Eczema is characterised by red, dry patches which are itchy. If the rash is non itchy then it can be pityriasis alba. Pityriasis alba is a common skin condition mostly occurring in children and usually seen as dry, fine-scaled, pale patches on the face. No treatment is required and the patches in time will settle in due course of time. The redness, scale and itch if present may be managed with simple emollients and sometimes hydrocortisone, a weak steroid, is also used.
