Avatar n tn I've had this red ring on my neck for a few weeks now, it doesn't hurt or itch. I feel healthy otherwise. The skin feels normal and isn't rough or painful. It sort of looks like a hickey. http://imgur.com/rEDIF.jpg http://imgur.com/qp5Za.
Avatar n tn Hello, In most cases of eczema no one treatment will be effective. Medical research shows that the most effective treatment plan for eczema involves using a combination of therapies to treat the skin and making lifestyle changes(prevention of triggers and application of lots of moisturizers) to control flare-ups. For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid which are available by prescription.
Avatar m tn a couple of days ago, i found little bubbly and itchy rashes on my neck. The next day there was more on the side of my neck. Those type of irritated rashes have also appeared on my penis, around the scrotum, and under the testes. Several rashes are also on my stomach, and on the underside of my arms. I don't know what it is, but it has a really annoying itch. I am not sure how to handle this. Do I need treatment, or does this naturally go away? Thanks a ton!
495402 tn?1220617403 Looks like I've got eczema on the back of my head and my upper neck, my doctor told me yesterday that it's most likely a side effect from the Hep C medication, which is all well and good but how to I get rid of it. Where it's on my scalp, under my hair, I can't put any type of ointment on it. Last night my boyfriend put some of his eczema salve on my neck and it did seem to stop the itching for a little while.
Avatar m tn But if it is chronic skin condition then it may take some time for treatment. Eczema is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. The type of medication prescribed will depend on many factors, including the type of eczema, past treatment, and the patient’s preference. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.

Medical research shows that the most effective treatment plan for eczema — regardless of type — involves using a combination of therapies to treat the skin and making lifestyle changes(prevention of triggers and application of lots of moisturizers) to control flare-ups. I suggest you to apply some moisturizers and apply topical steroids only after consulting a dermatologist.
Avatar m tn t eczema in the neck (anymore), and told me to stop the seroid cream. The spot on her chest was eczema she said, but no longer in an active phase (no redness anymore, skin is a bit 'wrinkled'). She said I could also stop the seroid cream there. She thought it was atopic dermatitis in a very light form, which may not even appear again (but could also come back later).
583092 tn?1218128207 My skin has become really dry in those places that were itchy, so I wanted to know if it was eczema or not and if the acne treatment could be the cause.
1014914 tn?1251084646 In addition to the steroid treatments, use good quality moisturizers to prevent moisture loss from the skin. In most cases of eczema no one treatment will be effective. A combination of therapies to treat the skin and making lifestyle changes(prevention of triggers and application of lots of moisturizers) to control flare-ups is helpful in long cases. I hope it helps.Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
Avatar m tn Grace thanks a lot for your answer.. Can I ask something related to other STD's? In case you might know is there any STD that is related to eczema (penis skin is dry, redish and pealing)? Its very weird cause I have had eczema in the past but after I got the following treatment I was fine in 7 days: 1) "ketrozol 200" tablets and 2) combination of Mycoril Cream 1% in the evening and Nystalocal cream in the morning.
Avatar m tn friend has itching, scaling, crusting rash on posterior neck, and now on sides of neck some ring formation-red rash. She went to Dermatologist who never mentioned ring worm and prescribed and antifungal cream. To me it sounds like, looks like and feels like ringworm. She needs a better treatment and to protect her from spreading it further to herself and others. What should she do?
Avatar m tn Hello, It can be due to eczema. Topical steroids is the mainstay of treatment of eczema. For mild-moderate symptoms a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone as dermacort), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide). But they are available under prescription and should be taken only after consulting a dermatologist. Symptoms can be exacerbated by dryness of the skin.

Medical research shows that the most effective treatment plan for eczema involves using a combination of therapies to treat the skin and making lifestyle changes(prevention of triggers and application of lots of moisturizers) to control flare-ups. Along with the medicines( steroids and antihistaminics) you need to apply plenty of emollients or mositurisers.
Avatar f tn Lichen Simplex Chronicus is seen in people with eczema. It is non contagious. It is treated like chronic eczema by decreasing water and soap contact, and applying emollients. Topical steroids are almost always needed to control the symptoms. You can use mild steroid cream like Dermacort and if the symptoms persist then high potency steroids and oral steroids may be needed. My sincere advice would be to consult a dermatologist to get the diagnosis confirmed.
Avatar n tn Hi, It could be an eczema present in the buttocks. The term eczema is broadly applied to a range of persistent skin conditions. These include dryness and recurring skin rashes which are characterized by one or more of these symptoms: redness, skin edema (swelling), itching and dryness, crusting, flaking, blistering, cracking, oozing, or bleeding. Atopic eczema is believed to have a hereditary component, and often runs in families whose members also have hay fever and asthma.
Avatar f tn Now the thing is, the lymph nodes in my neck have been swollen for over a month, and the last time I visited my doctor, he said it was probably because of that eczema-like thing on my neck. But, can that possibly have something to do with staphylococcus aureus too or it's just a normal eczema? http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/1499/dsc07357x.jpg Tomorrow, I'll be visinting the doctor again.

Avatar f tn Hi When topical corticosteroids do not provide relief, sometimes more the doctor may consider prescribing some more potent corticosteroids for some period, in adults with may be needed for adults with eczema on the scalp, limbs, and trunk or those with chronic/ lichenified eczema. Newer two topical eczema drugs like pimecrolimus (Elidel Cream) and tacrolimus (Protopic Ointment) are reserved only for cases where corticosteroids have not been effective.

Avatar n tn I have been to the dermatologist 6 or 7 times. I have a skin problem on my neck where I shave and also below where I shave. It itches and gets red on and off. I have been on a number of different antibiotics. I have tried antifungals, tea tree oils, and taking vitamins. It has gotten better but it has made a crease in my neck and never goes away completely. I have taken the antibiotics which treat staph, strep, and other antibiotics such as minocycline and doxycycline.
