Avatar m tn m lying in bed on my computer or playing guitar (not sure if Palmar Erythema is constant or not, please clarify!) and I am just curious as to what this weird bump on my hand near my thumb is too when I stretch out my thumb, anyways here is a link to pics of my hands any help would be greatly appreciated thank you. http://s1189.photobucket.
Avatar f tn I sometimes get these 3 to 5 tiny yellow bubbles only around my index fingertip and under my nail. My finger isn't bumpy it's just flat and it doesn't look as gross as eczema( it still has this yellow fluid inside the bubbles)so I don't think it's eczema. You would not notice anything one foot away. They aren't painful but they are itchy when i press on it. They look and feel something like fire ant bites but like 50x tinier and flatter.
Avatar n tn Any type of trauma to the fingers, such as playing the guitar, can cause fingertips to peel. Peeling fingertips can also be associated with certain infections, reactions to medications and, rarely, potentially serious medical conditions. A few simple measures can often stop the peeling, or at least slow it down: Wash your hands with an unscented soap. Use an unscented moisturizer after drying your hands. Avoid trauma to your fingertips. Wear gloves when washing dishes.
Avatar n tn skin peeling only on first 3 findertips, over a year, no real pain unless peeled too far, small non hard dead skin patches form a small circle to the layer of skin underneath, then all around can easily be peeled off, water makes it very visibly worse, also never goes below first joint, have tried steriod ointment, creams and my fingers are not in contact with anything new or out of the ordinary, very healthy, is there a cure or treatment to make it dissapear?
Avatar m tn In most cases of eczema no one treatment will be effective. Medical research shows that the most effective treatment plan for eczema involves using a combination of therapies to treat the skin and making lifestyle changes(prevention of triggers and application of lots of moisturizers) to control flare-ups. If the eczema is more severe, phototherapy (a type of treatment that uses light therapy) or systemic (circulates throughout the body) medication like oral steroids may be prescribed.

455167 tn?1259257871 hi all. i was just given a probable diagnosis of dupuytrens contracture, as a guitar player i am incredibly concerned now that i have researched it some. i went to unc orthopaedics in chapel hill to address a node on my left index finger (see photo) today, and they tried to aspirate it with a syringe with no success. then they shot cortisone into it. now it hurts so bad that i can't play the guitar at all now.

For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid which are available by prescription.

Avatar m tn Hello, Eczema is characterised by red, dry patches which are itchy. If the rash is non itchy then it can be pityriasis alba. Pityriasis alba is a common skin condition mostly occurring in children and usually seen as dry, fine-scaled, pale patches on the face. No treatment is required and the patches in time will settle in due course of time. The redness, scale and itch if present may be managed with simple emollients and sometimes hydrocortisone, a weak steroid, is also used.

4100205 tn?1349787589 May be you are growing an early callus possibly relating to your guitar. Alternate diagnosis would be pompholyx relating to fungus elsewhere.ok?
Avatar m tn When I've played my guitar for a while, my arm and hand become temporary paralyzed. My fingers on my left hand retract into a claw position and pain radiates in the center of my arm. I can't move my hand, fingers, or arm for a few minutes. This has been happening frequently for the last 2-3 years. I've played guitar most of my life so I'm a bit baffled as to why this is occurring. Anyone know what this is?
