Avatar f tn Any good treatment for eczema? 20wks today. Really suffering a lot. Tried Alpha Keri and QV intensive care but its not working. Help please....
Avatar n tn Hello, In most cases of eczema no one treatment will be effective. Medical research shows that the most effective treatment plan for eczema involves using a combination of therapies to treat the skin and making lifestyle changes(prevention of triggers and application of lots of moisturizers) to control flare-ups. For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid which are available by prescription.
Avatar f tn Im 9 weeks and ive got eczema on my face ive always had great skin this is my first pregnancy. Ive used fatty cream but it stings my skin, doctors wont prescribe anything to me does anyone else have any ideas on how to help me.

768015 tn?1333652075 I have Eczema so i know how annoying it is! Lotion wise Eucerin is the best for the that other than that you have to go the dr and get some hydrocortizone cream! Being PG im would definetly ask your DR what would be best and safe to put on it! The cream i have they said is pretty strong!! oh and soap wise make sure you get dove or caress that really moisturize your skin these are the only 2 that i buy!!
9041091 tn?1410417329 To help with eczema get some Cortizone Eczema Lotion. Its betweeen $8-$10 a bottle.I ewas instructed not to put ANYTHINGthat has a scent to it on my sons skin becabecause it makes it worse and sunscreen has a scent and I've never heard of that helping either.
1885735 tn?1322375616 Still waiting to get my pregnancy confirmed or denied but I developed the WORST eczema on my legs in the past month. I itch non stop. What I started doing was taking lukewarm showers instead of hot, using Eucerin calming shower oil and then immediately after the shower lathering on tons and tons of Eucerin calming cream and letting it soak in for 5 minutes before rubbing it in.
Avatar n tn My fourteen month old toddler has mild eczema and allergy to tree nuts + dairy; that has mainly manifested itself on his face in the form of small red patches. However, (not sure if the following is related at all) just a few months ago when the weather started getting colder and we turned the heat on, he started getting a dry rash-like patches on both his legs. Sometimes some patches would last just a day, other times they stick around for a while.
Avatar m tn Oatmeal bath aveeda for babies, the aveeda eczema wash, and at Walmart in the baby care section the eczema cream!!!
Avatar n tn It could be a fungus or maybe eczema. Try Lamisil cream first and see if it goes away after a few days. Don't scratch and wash your hands well after applying the cream. If it doesn't work within a week (with no scratching). You may want to see a doctor about it if that doesn't work. Eczema is very itchy and usually isn't on the bottom of the feet but it could be. If so, then don't scratch and keep it well moisturized.
8739291 tn?1403198176 My eczema is starting to flare with the hot weather coming, any tips?
Avatar f tn I got eczema with this pregnancy (ftm). My doctor told me to use Eucerin. I love it. I have to apply it at least daily.
Avatar n tn You could have eczema. Do you have a rash or anything on your legs you could describe? My eczema has been acting up due to dry hot weather. Scratching makes it worse or even if it is a rash or bite it makes those worse too. What does it look like? If it is eczema or a rash you may be allergic to your detergent or something else. Try using fragrance and dye free detergents and other items on your skin. Also, Eucerin , Restoraderm works well to calm down itching.
Avatar f tn Someone posted a while back about having problems with the skin cracking around their eyes as if their tears were burning the skin - but I can't remember who that was. I'm posting this in case the following information might help that person or others who are having similar issues.
Avatar f tn If I remember correctly, they were contained in a pink patch, almost like an eczema patch. I didn’t think much of it, and it seemed to flare in the heat and be fine otherwise. The bumps were even a little hard to see. That was in August. Our pediatrician said it looked like eczema but it didn’t really look like his other patches of eczema which were always rough and flaky.
720656 tn?1311040235 t clear up - I myself developed autoimmune eczema towards the end of treatment - thought it was the same old ribarash until I had practically ripped the skin off my face, hands and over my ankles. I tried everything. Finally I was so desperate I went to the doctors and he went "holy God what the hell happened to you??!
Avatar n tn Me too!! I've been using Eucerin eczema and that's worked A LOT! It seems to sooth my itching which is mostly my legs and face.
Avatar n tn I have been diagnosed with mild eczema on the base of my penis shaft. I have 3 or 4 red area's that I just cannot get to go away, it feels dry and is almost painful. I have been trying to not use the steroid cream too much but it seems like the only thing that really makes it feel better. Should I try not using anything? Would using the steroid cream too much keep the area red overall? Would anyone have any suggestions on the best moisturizer to use in that area for eczema?
Avatar f tn The facial eczema was less severe this time and I was able to treat it myself with Eucerin. Thank you for any advice. What it looks like: clusters of small, flat topped skin colored bumps. Some are so closely clustered they almost form plaques, others are more spread out and look like folliculitis almost. The rash is on the underside of my forearms, the tops of my hands, my elbows (inside and out), the backs of my knees, and most of my upper arms.
Avatar m tn Steroids is one of the best treatment for eczema but it should be used only under medical supervision as it can cause skin thinning and atrophy. For the itching you can take antihistaminics like Benadryl or levocetrizine. Follow these treatment options till you get an examination done from a dermatologist: 1) Avoid using soaps and harsh detergents which can dry the skin and deprive the skin of natural oils. Instead use a mild soap like Dove or colloidal oatmeal baths.
Avatar n tn i would highly recommend eucerin calming cream. It's thick and fragrance free and lasts for a full 24 hours. I have eczema which can be both painful and very very itchy and this is what works for me! I think its worth a try!
371848 tn?1206207834 Sorry Your rash actually does sound like eczema. I believe it's called discoid eczema. Round coin sized red rashes that may or may not itch. definitely not cancer. Did he give you a prescription for cortisone. He should have also told you to get short cool showers and use body wash not soap. Then moisturize!!
Avatar n tn Many treatment options are there like Clotrimazole 1%, Miconazole nitrate 2%, Tolnaftate 1% and Butenafine hydrochloride 1%. Many OTC products containing these salts are available, your pharmacist can help. Try a combination of two and apply until the round marks you see disappear. Continue application for 2 weeks after the marks disappear. The cause for persistence is that the treatment is often left in between.
Avatar f tn I'm in wi and with and after my first I got eczema. And that was six yrs ago but I still get flair ups.
Avatar n tn This sounds to me like eczema. I have had eczema for years but only recently has it been on my hands. It is an allergic reaction. Sometimes mine heal and sometimes the skin on my fingers peels making them very sensitive. For this, my doctor recommended a steroidal cream. While it isn't dry skin, one of the keys to eczema is moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! Although I caution you in doing that because it might be the lotion that you are allergic to (as I am...).
