Medical research shows that the most effective treatment plan for eczema involves using a combination of therapies to treat the skin and making lifestyle changes(prevention of triggers and application of lots of moisturizers) to control flare-ups. Doing so tends to increase effectiveness and reduce side effects from medications.
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed by a dermatologist with eczema / dermatitis of my penis glans. I've been treating with prescribed TCI (Protopic) for approx. 10 months, twice daily. I was not making very good progress over this time. Upon visiting my doctor a week ago he suggested that I switch to a combination of Hydrocortisone 1% & Protopic. I would apply Hydrocortisone in the morning and Protopic in the evening. I did this for one week and made pretty decent progress.

While it is topical steroids and antihistaminics like Benadryl for eczema and contact dermatitis, it is topical and oral antifungals for fungal infection. I suggest you to get an evaluation done from a dermatologist.
