eczema

Avatar f tn Whether or not it is eczema, see the dermatologist to find out what it is. I don't think it came from the vinegar.
495402 tn?1220617403 Looks like I've got eczema on the back of my head and my upper neck, my doctor told me yesterday that it's most likely a side effect from the Hep C medication, which is all well and good but how to I get rid of it. Where it's on my scalp, under my hair, I can't put any type of ointment on it. Last night my boyfriend put some of his eczema salve on my neck and it did seem to stop the itching for a little while.
Avatar f tn Hi You might be suffering from scalp (seborrheic) dermatitis or scalp eczema or scalp psoriasis. The exact diagnosis depends on clinical examination. Seborrheic dermatitis presents as dry skin on the scalp, which flakes off (dandruff). The skin on the face, behind the ears, eyelids, nose and chest may also be affected. Symptoms of scalp eczema may include greasy yellowish scales that may turn flake off along intensely itchy and inflamed red scalp.
Avatar n tn Hello, From the symptoms that you have mentioned, one possibility that can correlate with your symptoms and history is eczema skin. Usually the symptoms are dry, itchy skin but sometimes, eczema may lead to blisters and oozing lesions also. Eczema is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema.
Avatar f tn Recently i have started obbsessively picking at my scalp until it bleeds. I then proceed to pick again once a scab has formed. Its very painful for me, especially when brushing and washing my hair and the scabs are starting to show on my scalp too. Does anybody have this or no how i can stop please?
Avatar f tn I have scratched and picked my scalp for about fifteen years. It started with a spot on my scalp that may have been normal dandruff, or it may have been fungal. Who knows, but it's been a long road since. It has always flaked and when I would scratch, tons of dandruff came off. Over the years, the size of the spot has gotten bigger and bigger and obsessive scratching has taken over my life. To me, I've always scratched until dandruff stopped falling.
Avatar m tn my scalp burns and hurts it flakes and somestimes the flakes harden to my scalp my hair stopped growing and has been falling out over the last year
Avatar m tn could be contact dermatitis, or an allergen your breating in at your home, did you ever get allergy tests.
3093770 tn?1389739126 I've had a number of bouts with eczema over the years, with my scalp being frequently affected. My dermatologist once told me I had the worst case she had ever seen! Her Rx for me was fluocinonide topical solution, 0.05%. I was instructed to wash my hair every day with a mild hypoallergenic shampoo and only slightly warm water, then apply a little bit of solution carefully, so as to treat all affected areas of the scalp without wasting it on the hair. This method works well for me.
Avatar m tn So I saw the doctor today, not a dermatologist just my primary care doctor and said it looks like I have eczema and he gave me Clobetasol Propionate Shampoo for my scalp which seems to be working and Hyrdrocortisone and told me to use both about twice aday.
Avatar f tn I put my hair half up half down (mine is long) so I get it on my lower scalp (above my neck, on scalp behind my ears etc) and crown/top of my head. You really dont need it on your hair, just scalp so splitting my hair works best. Only wash it every two days. Dr can prescribe clobetasol for itchy spots if it gets worse. Water, sunshine and keeping stress low also helps a lot:) I hardly have issues anymore.
Avatar f tn Since that time I have confirmed Eczema in my ears and on my scalp. Although the ears and scalp are annoying the spots on my face are really bothering me. I work in a professional environment and even with makeup they do not look very attractive. Prior to this rash/spots on my face showing up, I was vacationing in the Caribbean and they have not gone away. Is there anything I can do? They are dry like Eczema but very red in colour and hard to keep hidden. Any suggestions???
Avatar f tn I use Aveeno eczema baby lotion. Smooth it on scalp after washing with aveeno eczema baby wash. Its got good stuff in it like oatmeal and very gentle. It has no smell but works! It soothes and loosens it up very well. Got rid of my sons in 2 weeks. Good luck with whatever u choose.
Avatar m tn I will get small patches (on my forearms, chin, behind an earlobe, and some other places) which generally disappear with 1-2 applications of clobetasol cream. This is why my doctor thinks my scalp problems are likely eczema related although he admits the possibility of psoriasis and/or dry scalp.
Avatar n tn 22yo male with history of eczema since infancy (also asthma/allergies). Historically treated with hydroxyzine and topical steroid cream. One year ago, skin condition worsened. Experienced "sunburn" like appearance to face with severe itching to scalp and face. the usual bleeding and large, painful lymph nodes to scalp and neck. Treated with several rounds of oral steroids and antibiotics. No relief presently with maximum dose of hydroxyzine.
Avatar f tn Does untreated scalp psoriasis on 8 year old can causes elevated white blood cell count or any other health complications?
Avatar n tn Hyperhydrosis may be primary (without known cause and usually starts during childhood or adolescence and persists all life) or secondary (as part of an underlying condition like Hyperthyroidism or similar endocrine diseases and dermatological conditions like eczema, psoriasis).Smelling scalp can be due to stress or hormonal changes which may lead to excess oil produced by the oil glands in your scalp.
Avatar f tn Been to several dermatologist and they are all saying it’s in my head or it follilucus went to hair club they said something is going on they see white spots on my scalp they never encountered in there whole time of doing this it feels like a web or something I’d covering my scalp face etc and it itches like crazy at night time
Avatar m tn Is this skin condition eczema or psoriasis and should I keep using medication? Is there a natural therapy for this condition like lemon juice or coconut oil or anything similar? Tea Tree has failed to work. Here is a picture of the condition on my chin after I shaved. It doesn't look this bad again if I keep my chin hairs short. This was immediately after a hair trim/shave. http://toddwaldorf.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/IMG_2204.
681148 tn?1437661591 I have tried everything I can think of. My scalp is dry and itchy. It sometimes has eczema or dermatitits in addition to this problem. I've added healthy oils to my hair and scalp and left them in. In a short time, my hair is back to its dry, dull and frizzy self. I'm at my wits end with this. I have loads of allergies, so I'm careful as far as that goes. I don't wash more than once every week or every other week.
Avatar n tn Hi there, The common causes of scalp sores are dandruff, seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis, acne and eczema. Since scalp sores are caused by numerous conditions it is difficult to determine the correct treatment without a complete clinical examination. Low Levels of Zinc in the scalp, clogged and bacteria filled hair follicles, very low circulation levels, too high pH level in the delicate scalp skin are few predisposing factors for scalp sores.
Avatar f tn I also have itchy scalp, but no dandruff. recently while scratching my head i noticed little scabs on my scalp from scratching. A freind told me recently that he thought it may be a nerve rash. can anyone help me?
Avatar n tn I in treatment now undergoing chemo, and have an itchy rash on my scalp. Is this from the chemo or possibly the Morphine I'm taking. I don't have the rash anywhere else.
