eczema

Near the skin folds the bumps/dots are closer together, while they are farther apart in other areas (it reminds me of larger razor burn bumps). It started about a month ago and was persistent around his groin area, thighs (inner, outer, front and back), lower abdomen and lower buttocks. He also found 3 larger red spots on his penis that did not itch as much and have since scabbed over. At first I thought it was jock itch, but it was unresponsive to creams.

Hello, From the symptoms and pictures it sounds like contact dermatitis or eczema. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps. For mild-moderate symptoms a weak steroid may be used (e.g.
Hello, I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be eczema or ringworm groin. Eczema is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. It does not look like any STD. I would suggest you to get it evaluated from a dermatologist as treatment for both is entirely different. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Dear Doc, I am a 22 year old male. About 3 weeks ago I developed rashes on my groin ( specifically the area where the thigh and pelvic join). I went to the doc he saw it said it was a heat rash and told me to put some antibiotic cream on it (the rashes were pretty deep and had developed into scars). Anyway the scar type leisions have healed but I have developed really dry skin around that area which is peeling. The area is not red but very dry and sometimes itchy.
I developed intense itchiness on the left side of my groin. The first time it appeared was four months ago. It went away for a while then came back early this month. The intense itchiness in the groin continued and now it's on both sides of my groin. Initially it started as a raised wrinkled bump. It is the same color as the skin around it. There are no blisters or open sores. The area becomes inflamed and thick when scratched. In addition I get inner thigh muscle soreness and pain at times.
You probably saw the pictures and they're where the thigh meets the groin. In the pubic hair area, I have a few too, and below the scrotum. I also have a few bumps around the anus. They itch pretty bad sometimes, but most of the time, I don't even realize they're there. But the responses here seem to indicate that it appears to be non serious and fungal since no other options were given...
2) I know that I am more susceptible to infection by the virus, but am I also more sensitive to outbreaks? 3) Eczema-specific IgG's are produced for eczema; would this be likely to trigger an IgG response to HSV, too? 4) Would that mean they would've likely already shown up on my test? My guess has been that I would have seen blisters, etc. by now if I was infected, but I just don't know for sure.
I got pictures I took and posted on my photobucket. Can anyone refer me to a forum where I can post these pics? This thing is crazy. I would like to post it and I would even donate this for other medical sites to use. I took some good pictures. Can someone help me suggest a site? I was going to post it here but realized I am not allowed to.
The spot didn't look anything like the pictures one sees of herpes blisters. Since I suffer from eczema and thought perhaps the eczema had found a new place to torture me, I used Elidel in the area and that brought relief from the itching and got the whole area feeling and looking better. The spot didn't turn into a blister/ulcer, but the area where the spot formed was slightly discolored once it healed.
hello just wondering if anyone could help me identify what skin conditions i have, i will post pics, one is on my hands, one on my penis, and the other in my groin, i know i should go see my gp just wondering whether you could tell me what it could be first?
I have it on my underarms, although they look slightly different for both underarms. The left side looks like typical eczema. Red, scaly, patchy, and very itchy. My right side is a little harder to describe. When I first started getting it I thought it was ringworm. But the doctor's biopsy found no fungus. It never responded to any fungal medications anyway. It usually starts out as a single red dot, and it eventually turns into multiple dots covering my armpit.
Hi, Differentials for this will be a fungal infection, a nummular eczema, lichen planus , inverse psoriasis and allergic reactions. These are just differentials. They present with a rash which may be roundish in nummular eczematous skin conditions and they may also present with itchiness. Inverse psoriasis is "flexural psoriasis and they appear as smooth inflamed patches of skin.

I'm wondering if what you have is eczema. If so, look up omega 3's and evening primrose oil supplements and eczema and see if you'd like to give that a try. Food elimination that helps a lot of people is gluten. Look up a gluten free diet and see if you'd like to give that a try. I'm doing my best to save you from embarassment! I'm earning my angel wings!!!!!
It confirmed some information that I've been telling people that for some of us, it definitely matters what we consume. For many with eczema this is not the case, but the subtype of eczema I'm talking about is definitely affected. Yeah, it definitely will have the red ring you're talking about. I've had flare-ups with this form of eczema in this manner you described. It can get a whole lot worse than the pictures on the website I discovered.
The pictures look like it might be eczema. Does it also itch and then burn after you scratch. If it also flakes I would be willing to bet that is what the problem is. Please let me know.
they have a central red dot surrounded by hyperpigmented skin which is extremely disfiguring, as a result, I've not been able to go out without full body covering. And for others, it just becomes a brownish patch (refer to pictures) In addition, I've noticed these small pale papular lesions on my arms which appear spontaneously. I had 3 or 4 of them when I was 14years old and now there are close to 50 on my both arms, forearms and hands.
Hi, These can often be due to eczema, allergic reactions, dermatitis, erythrasma or intertrigo. Sorry i was unable to see the pictures. Jock itch, known scientifically as tinea cruris is a fungal infection that affects the skin folds in the groin or pubic region. It is uncomfortable, can be itchy, and usually presents as a red rash. It is more likely to occur in men , and is usually the result of exposure to and growth of the fungus Trichophyton rubrum.
I have had them for years, however more seem to appear as I get older. It looks just like pictures on the internet of Tinea Cruris and my dermatologist agrees. I have been an avid weight trainer for many years and probably got it on a dirty bench. Anyway, I have tried everything. Over the counter Lamsil, Lamisil AT, spray and cream, I am paid a precription of Lamasil pills which did nothing. Basically have tried everything to get rid of these spots that keep popping up.
something is going on with my penis and every time i go to the doctor he tells me it is eczema. he prescribes me hydrocortizone and tells mei'm fine and its gonna take a while. wtf? i have be told that i have hpv and have had a small out break of warts but that got taken care of. the doctor say that this is unrelated to this rash or something.
For about a week after, it felt really uncomfortable - a little burning, itching, and some sharp pains in my groin. I saw my PMD, who thought it might be fungal and gave me some Lotrisone. I used it for 10 days with mild improvement. So now it's been a month since the first time I noticed something weird. The area looks okay and overall things are better, but it still...hurts kinda'. It feels sore occasionally and a burns a bit(only on the skin).
These spots are not blisters, and they do not look anything like scabies. Possibilities include hives, fungus, or eczema (though these spots aren't typical of any of these.) Recommendation: Get some clotrimazole 1% cream (over-the-counter) and apply it twice a day. Make an appointment for a doctor to see it. Best. Dr.
I don't know very much about herpes but I get a bump like you are talking about periodically and I think it is irritation from shaving or an ingrown hair. The pictures of genital herpes I have seen before were a group of little bumps instead of one.
My daughter, age 7, had a rash that began in her groin area 4 weeks ago. The rash consisted of lots of tiny bumps and was very itchy. She also had some round spots on her hips. After a DR. visit, we were refered to a dermatologists. Our visit was 2 weeks after the initial rash started. By this time she had started peeling on her hands and feet. She also had some small rough patches of skin on her inner thighs and her shoulder. The dermatologist diagnosed pityrias rosea.
Hi doctor, Two weeks ago, I was diagnosed with ringworms near my groin area and on my penis. I've been taking Terbinafine tablets and applying terbinafine cream, and it's been slowly improving. But I think the rash has spread to my fingers. The area between my fingers and near my nails is very dry and crusty, sometimes giving off a transparent liquid. There are small bumps on my fingers as well, and there's a constant urge to itch. Its been there for the past 3 days.
The next day, he tells me that he noticed a swollen lymph node in his groin and this began to concern me. I looked down there with a mirror to examine myself. I noticed a wound on my lower labia, it isn't painful or itchy and it does not bleed, and I also noticed that there are tiny cuts by my vaginal opening. I have accepted the fact that it could be herpes. But could it possibly be a sore from continuous, daily rough sex? He was pretty rough & I was pretty dry.
I initially thought it was jock itch until i looked at pictures online and read that jock itch comes with a scaley rash. There is no rash anywhere, and my testicles and everything in the area looks completely normal, and it looks completely fine. The only problem is I'm itching. Can anybody tell me anything?
Doesn't itch, get scaly or dry and doesn't fit any definition of eczema or psoriasis? No prescription does anything to relieve the discomfort and it gets cold when it burns? A condition that tortures you every waking second and no doctor cares? I have the same thing. Maybe we need to march on Washington.
It looks like a case of food allergy and the rash on penis can be due to eczema. Eczema is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and also apply steroid cream on the rash.
