eczema

495402 tn?1220617403 Looks like I've got eczema on the back of my head and my upper neck, my doctor told me yesterday that it's most likely a side effect from the Hep C medication, which is all well and good but how to I get rid of it. Where it's on my scalp, under my hair, I can't put any type of ointment on it. Last night my boyfriend put some of his eczema salve on my neck and it did seem to stop the itching for a little while.
Avatar n tn thanks for the info. i googled the dyshydrotic eczema that jagesh50 mentioned and the stuff i have on my fingers look exactly the same, but as i said it doesn't itch or hurt i don't think its chronic though.... here a picture of what mine looks like exactly (its not mine, i just found it) http://fromyourdoctor.com/ext/atopic_dermatitis_hands.jpg https://online.epocrates.com/data_dx/reg/91/img/91-1-hlight.
Avatar n tn Anti-itch drugs, often antihistamine, may reduce the itch during a flare up of eczema, and the reduced scratching in turn reduces damage and irritation to the skin. For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone or desonide), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide). Eczema can be exacerbated by dryness of the skin. Moisturizing is one of the most important self-care treatments for sufferers of eczema.
Avatar m tn My Dermatologist says not insect bites, but I do have clear Eczema in some areas so he thinks that is causing these bumps to come and go. I just started treatment for Eczema today, but I feel like that doesn't explain these bumps, the flaky skin that is Eczema really doesn't bother me, but is it possible it can cause these other reactions? They are completely different symptoms, and if not what else could it be? Everything I have looked up does not seem like a fit.
Avatar m tn I have tried topical anti-fungal ointments (Lamisil), as well as Miconazole spray a week prior, and did the full 4 week treatment as well as the full 2 week treatment orally for ringworm, and I am guessing by the looks of the rash on my arm being bigger now than it was before treatment that it was most likely not ringworm.

608553 tn?1389502811 ve heard eczema or poison ivy, but no cortisone, oat, or antibacterial will cure. Typically, it comes and goes but now I have it on my knuckles and cracks and bumps on both hands. WHAT IS THIS??
Avatar m tn Can it be a case I can send you some pictures and you can tell me the cure , which I can get from India.
Avatar n tn Is it possible that these original warts were molluscum contagiosum but misdiagnosed? there was however no reservoir, and i pinched one off and it bled slightly and there was no pain (stupid idea but i had no idea what it was at first).
Avatar f tn Hello, I'm a seventeen-year-old female, very prone to atopical dermatitis, and I've had problems with what I assume is perioral dermatitis for almost two years. One doctor told me that it MIGHT be perioral because then it seemed mild, though he never prescribed me antibiotics just gave me one cream that didn't really help.
Avatar m tn For either of these conditions for therapy the best way is to prevent attacks by identify those substances which you are allergic to and avoid them. So, Allergy testing would be worth looking into. And treatment is with cortisone based creams, which need to be very potent and of increased strength to heal the lesions. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn A common type of hand eczema, called dyshidrotic eczema which occurs only on palms, soles, and sides of fingers and toes. Tiny opaque bumps called vesicles, thickening, and cracks are accompanied by itching. This itching gets worse at night and in warm weather. The pus filled lesions could be due to staphylococcus aureus, which is responsible for most skin infections. Eczema, basically, is a form of dermatitis, or inflammation of the upper layers of the skin.
Avatar f tn My husband is a senior and has a skin condition that acts up only in the winter at night, not in the day time. They are like eruptions that have intense burning like a cigarette being held against his arm. When they erupt, they itch intensely and he gets no relief until he gets them bleeding to get the yellowish liquid out. Then he ices to stop the itching.
Avatar m tn Dear doctor, My little girl has two spots of what is supposedly eczema in her neck and one on her chest. My family doctor prescribed 1% hydrocortisone cream, which I applied. After 3 days it was almost gone, but she told me to continue until it was fully gone. I noticed that with further application the two spots in the neck increased in redness, especially right after application. A few hours later the redness fades gain.
Avatar f tn The doctors ruled out ring worm, and say it is a form of eczema. But the cream and ointment they gave me for this eczema has never worked for her. It also seems when these bumps appear, she gets tiny red bumps near her eyes and gets a runny nose too. I've attached some photos of her legs when her outbreaks occur. Please help! I'm sick of hearing the same old song and dance from the doctor we use.
Avatar m tn org/posts/show/424354), I have been able to take some closeup clear pictures since then and would like you to take another look if you would be so kind. I have left the original photos up as well as adding four new ones. I am awaiting a visit with a Dermatologist but the time between now and then is still a big stretch (public heath care has it's great points and it's bad points). http://picasaweb.google.com/northernrob1/RashBumps?
Avatar f tn i saw a pharmacist that said that the peels in my skin are too soft to be a Psoriasis and diagnose my condition as an Eczema and gave me a Mometasone (furoate): Ointment/Cream 1mg/g (0.1%). this didn't help either please help me..
Avatar m tn Also apply liberal amounts of moisturizers.Other treatment options include topical steroids, oral steroids and PUVA therapy.I think you should consult a dermatologist and discuss these options with him. Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted if you have any additional doubts.
Avatar m tn I was looking at some pictures of scabies cases and noticed the nodules associated with scabies looked similar to the ones I have. Also the rash I have had resembles pimples or bug bites.
Avatar m tn She has prescribed me with ketoconazole shampoo 2% and has instructed me to use it in my daily shower for 5 days, leaving it on my skin for 5 minutes at a time. I started treatment yesterday and have noticed a difference in the colour and texture of the rash so it seems to be having an effect. My doctor says the yeast bacteria that causes it should be killed off in 5 days but it could take a month or two for my skin pigmentation to return to normal.
Avatar m tn Hi, I just noticed these bumps really maybe about a week ago, but I do think that I've had this condition before while growing up, but just never took notice to it. Does anyone have any idea what this is? I thought it might be eczema or psoriasis but in the pictures I've found of those the skin tends to be dry while my skin is still soft.
Avatar f tn Does it get worse when washing dishes or hands in warm/hot water? Hand eczema is a common disorder that can be treated with steroid based creams...research pictures of it on the web. I have had that for 5 years now, and my hands itch every day, so bad that the skin will get cracked and bleed, if I don't use the medication every day. It's unknown what the specific cause is, but many times it's related to an allergen. Good luck!
