eczema on calves

My 95 year old mother has had a rash with occasional open sores on her ankles and lower calves. It seems to be climbing up the calf on both legs. Her feet get small red bumps, but her ankle takes the brunt of the rash. She is not diabetic, is not bedridden, has had an ankle brachial test that came out fine. She's had 9 other blood tests that also came out fine. She's had a carotid artery test which also came out ok for a 95 year old.

They itch, and some have white scales on them. Many of the ones on his calves and forearms have developed scabs from his scratching. They aren't contagious; we're together constantly and I have had none of these lesions. At first his doctor called it ringworm, but when antifungal cream and oral medication had no effect he suggested it could be psoriasis or eczema. We've tried coal tar ointment, salicylic acid shampoo, even things like tea tree oil, vinegar, bleach and bloodroot!

I've had a rash appear over night initially on my thighs and on my elbows and then the next day spread to my arms, hands, and armpits as well. I have no clue to the cause of this rash. The rash appears red and blotchy with a constant itch that is lessened by taking an allergy medication.

You could have eczema. Do you have a rash or anything on your legs you could describe? My eczema has been acting up due to dry hot weather. Scratching makes it worse or even if it is a rash or bite it makes those worse too. What does it look like? If it is eczema or a rash you may be allergic to your detergent or something else. Try using fragrance and dye free detergents and other items on your skin. Also, Eucerin , Restoraderm works well to calm down itching.

I'm having mine checked at my next appointment, I told my doctor at my last one but he just said it was dry skin due to the weather, but it hasn't gone away and more its on my butt, calves, thighs and elbows. My bf said it is like eczema (which I've never had but he has) do I'm taking oatmeal baths and they help.

I have had a rash on my sides and calves and a few on my arms been to dr they have gave me prednisone something for fungal they have gave me permethrin for scabies and redbugs I've used over counter cream for eczema stuff starts too help then comes back it itches but the itch isn't too bad a friend of mine who is a nurse thinks I'm allergic to something that I've changed but I don't have insurance to go to a dermatologist so can anyone help me any suggestions

I have them on the same part of the body. Meaning I have some on the inside of my left and right calves for example. Same on the outside of my left and right thighs. After a hot bath they weep. I have been given antihistamine (fexofenadine) to no avail and creams are a temporary relief. I had a blood test to check the thyroid and the liver and the results did not show anything bad. I don't eat wheat or gluten.

Then recently a few bumps appeared on my lower legs (calves) and im quite confused! I thought it was mosquito bites but it does not look like that! i also have dogs that sleep in my bed but i'm pretty sure flea bites don't look like that! I'm thinking about going to a deteramotologist to figure out whats wrong. None of the bumps have gone away and at times they can be veryy itchy! Any help?

My 9 month old grand daughter has a rash on her cheeks. She first had several small round circles of bumps on her arms, thighs, calves, and ankles. She didn't get them on her tummy, chest or back. She will still get these and they are always iseem to be in a circle. In the last 3 months she has had a raised ugly rash on her cheeks. It looks so painful. It almost looks like she has been burned. Her pediatrician has given her a prescription for Nystatin. It didn't help. The dr.

At least its only acne on your calves. My 1st born gave me stretch marks on ONE of my calves. That never goes away lol. And yeah my acne is top of my boob and in the middle of them.

I wanted to know if there was a way to get rid of the all the muscle. I have no fat on my calves, just on my stomach. But I feel like pop-eye because my calves are muscular, kind of like a mans calves, so I just want the muscle to be gone. If my calves were just fat, I'd be happier because I could lose the fat on them and tone them up, but now, I just have solid muscle and everyone stares.

We have ruled out that it is not contact dermatitis eczema since it occurs all over his body - typical areas include on the back, on the groin, on his butt, thighs, upper arms and calves. Since his eczema started on his late twenties, I know that the chances are that he will have to deal with this for the rest of his life. We have done everything we could.

Try doing some of the same dances you used to do, more times/week. Or look into some yoga. Yoga is excellent for toning/firming the entire body.

Also, this is limited to my shins- I am worried as it seems weird to be isolated like that; however it did look like some of the pics of eczema, although I am going to the dr soon.

Do you also have swelling in one of your calves or any tightness?

hello guys! 2 questions! 1. The other day I got some semen on my hands which have eczema. My eczema do itch and I do scratch them very often. But eczema don't itch all the time. when the semen got on it ,it was not bleeding, it looked like intact skin with very red rash on it. So,my question is, is this kind of no-bleeding eczema showing only severe rashes the same as intact skin?

I have severe itch on my penis. I have tried a lot of medicines. but none resulted good. I have a lady friend who is a dermatologist. but can i show this to her. or do they only treat females?

I've been diagnosed with eczema on the underside of my penis. 1% hydrocortisone seems to make it worse. What would be an alternative, milder treatment?

However, this is such a sensitive part of his body I have been very nervous about what I am doing. Any suggestions on treating eczema on this part of the body? Thanks.

I was using Nystatin and it seemed to get better, then it returned even worse. The cream seems to do little for it now. I got eczema on my knuckle last year and it finally cleared up. I assume this is the same thing. It is red and raised. It almost looks as if the hair follicles are what is red and raised. The only reason this concerns me is because I was burned badly in this area in 2002. I never went to the Dr. for the burn although I was told it was a severe 2nd degree.

Am I over reacting, is it safe for them to use chapstick on eczema, or is it further hurting the condition? Please help me so I can pass correct information on to my parents, since they choose not to listen to me! Thanks!

about 2yrs ago I developed a rash on my one foot.I want to the Dr and he said is was a rash and gave me an antihistmine tablet and some cream.The second time I went to the Dr he said it was eczema and gave me more cream. Both my feet is now covered in scab and I'm to embarresed to go and see a Dr .It itches a lot ,especially at night,and sometimes I stratch it until it bleeds. I'm am extremely anxoius with summer coming up as the mark on my feet draws a lot of negative attention.
