Common Questions and Answers about Eczema natural detergent

eczema

Avatar n tn Scratching makes it worse or even if it is a rash or bite it makes those worse too. What does it look like? If it is eczema or a rash you may be allergic to your detergent or something else. Try using fragrance and dye free detergents and other items on your skin. Also, Eucerin , Restoraderm works well to calm down itching. I use a topical steroid for my legs and hands. You have to get this from your doctor. If you get a topical steroid don't get it in your eyes or face.
Avatar n tn This sounds like eczema. Which is very dry itchy skin. Do you have it anywhere else? Try changing your soap to an all natural oil based soap. Also use a mild moisturizer like cetaphil. Don't wash the area to much. Also check your detergent. You might want to change to an allergy free laundry detergent.
Avatar n tn Well its been a week and the scaley and flakyness has gone down but the color has not improved, is that normal?
Avatar f tn Do you have to wash baby clothes with a baby detergent? Is it that big of a deal? Will something happen using regular detergent or will it hurt the baby?
1337810 tn?1333807530 m not an expert but my 2yr old son has eczema. he had it as an infant so I changed our clothes detergent to a hypo-allergenic or sensitive one as well as his nappy wipes. when he was 1 I gradually introduced normal soaps & detergents. he was fine for a few mths but then it came back worse. I now only use hypo-allergenic detergent & use skin cream during summer as it flares up during the hotter period.
Avatar f tn My son had eczema. I used eczema lotion I think it was aveno along with eczema otemeal baths. It's a powder that comes in little packets you put in the bath water. I also used dreft baby detergent and organic sent free soap for the bath. Also don't bathe baby too often that will dry the skin out even more.
Avatar f tn Have you tried the avveno eczema soaps?! My daughter has eczema and thats all I can use on her without her breaking out.
443968 tn?1288612689 I just got back from James pediatrician and he has about 5-6 small bumps on his skin, back chest , arms and buttocks, they are red and the pediatrician thinks he has dry skin/eczema, anyone else having this problem. She suggested bathing every other day and using aveeno and aquaphor. Any ideas?
Avatar n tn I am using fragrance free detergent, soap/washes, and deodorant. I have used various Eczema fragrance free moisturizers with no noticeable results. (Currently on Aveno eczema moisturizer). Appreciate the help.
Avatar n tn After a year of suffering and using Fluocinonide prescribed by doctor, I went over my credit card records and found that my eczema started soon after I switched to a new laundromat that was using a detergent called ALL. I switched back to my old one, and within a few weeks, the eczema was gone! strangely enough, ALL claims they have special additives in their detergents for eczema sensitive people. maybe it had opposite effect on me.
Avatar f tn We have been making our own powder detergent for awhile now. The ingredients are: ivory unscented soap, naptha (a bar of stain removal soap), borax, and baking soda wash. Are any of these considered unsafe to use on newborn clothes?
Avatar n tn s probably not psoriasis, which is chronic and can only be controlled by tamping down stress on your immune system, as this is the body attacking itself. Eczema can usually be at least moderated with natural lotions that keep you well moisturized. I get rashes from walking long periods of time outdoors in the winter because the skin gets dry in the winter and rubs against the long pants I have to wear that time of year.
Avatar f tn Eczema is a wide term which encompasses a wide variety of conditions like atopic dermatitis (runs in families), contact dermatitis (reaction to something one comes in contact with like a soap, lotion, cloth, detergent etc), xerotic eczema (due to very dry skin), discoid eczema (worse in winters), dyshidrosis (worse in summers), venous eczema etc. For successful treatment the identification of cause is a must.

1155599 tn?1321890934 Sorry this may be a stupid question, but just wanted some opinions on baby laundry detergent vs regular laundry detergent. Which did you use? I'm not sure if you have to use the detergent that's for babies or any one free of dyes/perfumes will work? Or just use what the rest of us use? Wait and see what the baby's skin will tolerate? Any comments are appreciated, I'm lost when it comes to this!
Avatar n tn I recently had a serious eczema flare up and it was also on my inner elbows. The redness has gone away but it is very dry and the creases on my inner elbows are dark in colour. This is on both of my elbows. I moisturize the skin 3 times a day (with aveeno dermexa moisturizing cream) but it is still very dry.
Avatar f tn i have never had any eczema or anything like this before but i googled and saw something about pregnancy eczema...is anybody familiar about this and any treatments??
Avatar f tn I use the same detergent that I use with my clothes.
Avatar m tn m not sure, but it sounds like eczema. Did you know that eczema is exasperated by both what you eat and what you expose your skin to? I used to get giant blisters about an inch in diameter myself. It was a combination of two things affecting the eczema: gluten intolerance that might or might not be Celiac. I was also reacting to the kind of dish detergent I was using. I stopped gluten and switched to Seventh Generation fragrance free dish liquid.
1415174 tn?1453243103 Hi I wanted to give an overall introduction and ask a question regarding eczema. I have several problems migraine variant, controlled by Klonopin. I have an abnormal EEG that shows a migraine or seizure pattern and it started in my 20's and took about 8 years to diagnose. I have throwing up and abdominal pain and no headache and it occurred only when I tried to go to sleep at night.
Avatar n tn Could your child be allergic to the detergent you use for your sheets and their pajamas or a lotion or soap, etc. (contact dermatitis rash)? Could it be eczema or hives? See private message & if you cannot pinpoint the cause, I hope you can get a quick appointment with the child's pediatrician!
Avatar f tn Hm, I 'd have asked that first. If you had used a new soap or detergent as that does sound a bit like allergic dermatitis. A lot of the time, itching behind the knees and hips could be because of atopic dermatitis. Otherwise known as ezcema. Your itching the area causes the skin to be funky after. Do your best not to itch. I use a balm bought on amazon but also sold in drug stores for itchy ezcema skin. Aveeno Itching releif balm. Works great. This is info on ezcema. https://www.
