Common Questions and Answers about Eczema location

eczema

Avatar m tn Hello, From the symptoms the possibility of allergies, hives, eczema and atopic dermatitis needs to be ruled out. Eczema is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. Allergic reaction can occur to strong soaps, Solvents, chemicals, certain foods, food additives, plants, metals, cosmetics, even urine and faeces of some animals (dust mites). Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites.
Avatar m tn ve seen reports of both being infected with HSV-1 gives you total immunity or it gives a much higher chance of being resilient to a secondary infection in a different location. This is very important since she suffers from fairly bad eczema, which if HSV-1 can cause a secondary infection in a different location, even if she has already gotten HSV-1, it could cause issues. Finally, in a related note to my diagnosis with HSV-1, with modern testing what is the probability of error?
Avatar f tn ve tried using triple antibiotic ointment, cetaphil, and hydrocortisone cream but the affected areas havent gone away. The location of the red areas is on both ears, in front of each side burn area, the middle of my right cheek, and on my left jaw line. The rash tends to get really red and slightly itchy right after a hot shower or when I am hot. About once a week the skin becomes super dry and starts to slightly peal but a couple days later it's red again.
Avatar n tn She got the eczema after childbirth and it is mainly centered on her hands... although she does a have few small patches on her legs. As far as the "type" of eczema we are not sure... she does have to be extremely careful with cleaning chemicals, and certain shampoos, etc with frangrances etc as these really will inflame her hands.... She typical wears non latex gloves when cleaning etc...
Avatar n tn Well recently, i have had trouble with skin issues. I suffer from Eczema anyway so dry itchy skin is quite normal. But i usually only get it on the inside of my elbow and its a lot better than it used to be. But then i started getting itchy around my neck, then at my collar bone, then (i can't describe the location well) the skin next to your arm pits. But now my nipples are mega itchy. Like some times it's so unbearable i just have to scratch them. They look dry, flaky and sore.
Avatar f tn One night when I was 14 I shaved my stomach and cut it by mistake, over night I remember itching it and waking up to a rash that gotten worse over a week, I never went to go get it treated because it eventually went away on its. I'm 18 now and I have had the same rash is the same location about 5 to 6 times since then, the rash is located a little below my belly button the skin there is darker and shiny.
Avatar f tn I cook for him and he is in the office kitchen with me eating etc daily. Could I have caught it from him, esp if I have eczema (the eczema is not severe at all) Am pretty alone in a new town, trying to get into doctors and this is a little of a wild goose chase. So, your advice is certainly appreciated and very helpful. Thank you so much!
Avatar m tn I noticed this http://imgur.com/aIH58uV on my boyfriend (21M) tonight. It's on his upper-middle back... he didn't see it due to the location, and he thought it was a swollen pimple because the area is raised. I drew a circle around it to monitor if it grows and put Neosporin on it. He is prone to eczema, but it usually just looks like hives and is itchy when he gets it.
Avatar m tn Hello, It would had been really helpful if you had shared detailed information about these spots and any associated symptoms like itching, location of the spots etc.It is very difficult to confirm anything without an external examination. These spots can be anything from a normal anatomical variation in your skin or conditions like eczema, allergies, urticaria, and petechiae etc. This is merely an opinion. It cannot substitute a complete examination and professional diagnosis.
2199483 tn?1338594436 From the description given by you there are a few possibilities. It could be eczema, intertrigo, dermatitis, impetigo, lichen planus or psoriasis. Dermatitis is usually caused by allergens causing redness swelling and blisters. It happens in response to allergens. Eczema can affect neck, knees, and elbows and causes oozing, bleeding blisters and thick patches caused by climate, allergens and illness.
Avatar m tn hi, I'm a 32 male. Recently i have a skin condition on my penis shaft. It's a itchy dry scaly skin around 1/2" X 1/4" in size. Its only located in a location. at night i can peel of the dry skin but in the morning the dry rough skin is back.
Avatar n tn I have the same thing. I doubt that it's eczema. The doctors just don't know. I know a few people with eczema and even though everyone is different, this isn't close. For one thing eczema always comes and goes. It always gets scaly dry and itchy. Itching is the worse part according to the thousands of people that talk about their condition. I haven't found one person that has a chronic red burning feeling.

Avatar n tn Hello, I have this recurring rash on my neck. It comes whenever my menses is to start. I was wondering if it could come from having oral herpes. Recently I have had a sore throat twice in one month two weeks apart. The rash on my neck is very painful. My doctor seems to think that it is some type of fungus. The dermatologists suggest that it is eczema. But I don't think that is the case. This discussion is related to <a href='http://www.medhelp.
Avatar m tn The spots are spread out and are not really clustered in any location. They are not noticeably painful. I have been diagnosed with eczema on my penis before, so my foreskin and the head of my penis are irritated fairly frequently, but not usually with spots like this. Based on my understanding of the incubation period for HSV-2, it would seem the symptoms came too soon to be Herpes, but I am concerned. Please advise. Thank you very much.
Avatar m tn It might not be eczema but for someone who's hd eczema for years and years I recommend hydrocortisone ointment. Not that 1% over the counter garbage that claims to be "maximum strength," ask your doctor for a prescription, you'll get a 2.5% hydrocortisone ointment which should bring the swelling down. If that doesn't work try for a cream that helps treat ringworm. Best of wishes.
Avatar n tn Hi You have noted that the rash usually recurs at a certain time of the year and also on the exact same location. This may be a case of fungal infection or tinea versicolor. Tinea versicolor may appear as a whitish patch which may not be noticeable in fair skinned individuals. Given the right conditions like humidity , sweating, and weather changes the rash may be reddish with a well defined ring. They may also itch. I suggest that you have this assessed by a pediatric dermatologist.
