eczema

Avatar f tn d just ask the doc about the possibility of a mild case of an immunodeficiency condition called Wiskott-Aldrich Syndrome. Just write that name down on the notebook that you always take with you to appointments. But keep in mind that immune conditions have a lot of variability within themselves and not every patient has the same symptoms. (Most with Wiskott-Aldrich Syndrome have low platelets, so that doesn't quite fit here.) Good luck tomorrow.
Avatar m tn They are divided into infections, neoplastic disorders, autoimmune disorders, neoplasms, congenital disorders, immune deficiencies (e.g., Wiskott-Aldrich, et cetera), poisonings (acute alcoholic hepatitis), and gastrointestinal diseases such as gluten enteropathy. Have you talked to any other physicians about this? Have you tried drinking Acidophillus milk or taken a pro-biotic, maybe your system needs some "friendly bacteria." Hope you feel better soon.
Avatar m tn Anti-itch drugs, often antihistamine, may reduce the itch during a flare up of eczema, and the reduced scratching in turn reduces damage and irritation to the skin. For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone or desonide), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide). Eczema can be exacerbated by dryness of the skin. Moisturizing is one of the most important self-care treatments for sufferers of eczema.
Avatar n tn Just last week i read about how apple cider vinegar helps in eczema itch relief. I gave it a try and it really works. I diluted the ACV in one part water and one part ACV and applied it with a cotton ball. Let it dry and apply Polisporin to areas that are starting to heal. I know everyone reacts differently but this is the only thing that worked for me for a long time. Im still in the healing stage from the scratching but the itch is gone.
Avatar f tn My 7 month son has eczema and has had a rattling in his breathing which gets worse at night for 4 weeks. The doctor has looked at him and says it's coming fro high up which means there's nothing wrong. However i'm worried it's asthma. My brother had it with eczema as a child so there's a family history. He's got an intolerance to cows milk so he only eats soya. He's had a permanent cold since he was about 2 weeks old.
Avatar f tn Treatment is with glucocorticoid (a corticosteroid steroid) ointments, creams or lotions. They do not cure eczema, but are highly effective in controlling or suppressing symptoms in most cases. Since Alcortin contains anti-bacterial, anti-fungal as well as steroid medications it would be safe to use this to treat the condition with this. ref:http://en.wikipedia.
Avatar n tn You probably have eczema in the groin area. Their are dozens of posts on this site and others concerning the same symptoms. My whole scrotum turns red and sometime the leg creases. None of the medication the doctors gave me do anything. I do not itch unless it turns really red. But when you read about eczema it usually itches and turns red after you scratch it. I never scratch, but it turns red sometimes within minuets. The area gets so dark in color it looks brown.

Avatar m tn I belive I have eczema in my genital area because I have it also on my chest. I've tried treating it with different types of lotions but lotions seem to make it worse. I tend to scrath the area because of the itchiness which then leads to breaking of the skin at the base of my penis. Never breaking of the skin anywhere else in the genital region, just at the crevase of the lower pubic area at the base of the penis.

Avatar f tn I went to the emergency room about bumps on the palm of my hand and the itchiness on my legs. He told me I had eczema and prescribed me antibiotic and steroid cream. I asked can eczema be found on the face because I have some bumps on my nose and cheeks and have had a small rash on my neck he replied no eczema is not common on the face. I have had two or three pimple like bumps one on penis and two spaced far apart around my penis..
Avatar n tn Hello, Without examination, confirmation of a diagnosis is tough but it sounds like eczema to me. It is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. Allergic reaction can occur to strong soaps, Solvents, chemicals, certain foods, food additives, plants, metals, cosmetics, even urine and faeces of some animals (dust mites). Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites.

For last 4-5 days I started using "Quadriderm" cream which contains Clotrimozole IP. Please suggest me what to do.
Avatar m tn Grace thanks a lot for your answer.. Can I ask something related to other STD's? In case you might know is there any STD that is related to eczema (penis skin is dry, redish and pealing)? Its very weird cause I have had eczema in the past but after I got the following treatment I was fine in 7 days: 1) "ketrozol 200" tablets and 2) combination of Mycoril Cream 1% in the evening and Nystalocal cream in the morning.
Avatar n tn Well my problem is that like from time to time this little red bumps come up on the skin of my penis and sometimes in the head. i dont know what is and, i had unprotected sex like almost a year from now and that was my first time, and i havent had sex since that time, but i remember i had a ringworm in my arm, and then on my leg before that.
Avatar m tn Hi! Yes, it can be eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, dry skin or even a rash that itches. Please consult a skin specialist and get this examined. Take care!
Avatar m tn Tinea versicolor in aggravated in humid locations, most often winter because we wear warmer clothes that hold in moisture. In summer, because it is hot and humid outside, which promotes the increase of itching. The Tenia is a fungus, which is not contagious. It happens on anyone, and is easily treated with Selson Shampoo. Or any dandruff shampoo that indicates on the bottle that it can be used for Tenia. You should speak with your doctor, to make sure this is what it is.
Avatar f tn Hello, One of the possibilities for your symptoms is atopic dermatitis or eczema skin. Eczema is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps.
666065 tn?1225300076 I have dry, rough, slightly reddened areas in the front of both ears. I also noticed that the sides of my neck feel a little rough and dry, however it is not as noticeable as the areas in front of my ears. My skin is normally dry, so I use a lot of lotion. However, lotion has no effect on these dry areas. Just for added info., I don't have psoriasis. My husband tried to take a picture, but the area is not visible in a photo. I have a slight sore throat and feel more tired than normal.
Avatar n tn Does eczema and psoriasis appear on the genitals. In my case, the penis?
Avatar m tn Hello, Eczema is characterised by red, dry patches which are itchy. If the rash is non itchy then it can be pityriasis alba. Pityriasis alba is a common skin condition mostly occurring in children and usually seen as dry, fine-scaled, pale patches on the face. No treatment is required and the patches in time will settle in due course of time. The redness, scale and itch if present may be managed with simple emollients and sometimes hydrocortisone, a weak steroid, is also used.
Avatar n tn t ordinary run of the mill tiny but annoying eczema blisters either. They were giant blisters an inch or two in diameter and miserable that were doing what your body eczema is doing. The secondary infections are so bad. I don't know of anything else that really helps that is going to be like a quick relief. Like I said, I'm familiar with the problem of all those various eczema steroid creams and ointments not really helping.
