Avatar f tn For perhaps 15 yrs, I have had an ongoing problem. Every doctor that I have told, looks at me, trying not to say 'you're crazy.' The space between my two front teeth and the line that runs to connect to my lip itch constantly, non stop.
Avatar n tn Hello, Without examination,it is very difficult to confirm a diagnosis but it can be contact dermatitis(allergic or irritant),eczema(atopic dermatitis) or perioral dermatitis. Allergic contact dermatitis is an inflammation of the skin caused by an allergy to a substance. In irritant contact dermatitis there is skin irritation, including inflammation, swelling of the area, and warmth. The rash will be confined to the specific area that came into contact with the offending agent.
Avatar n tn It started with just a patch of skin on his face hear the nose and mouth. We applied hydrocortisone cream to see if it was just an allergic rash. The redness has gone away, but spread over his face. It is like rough skin, almost sandpaper feeling, that you can't see till you are up close to him. He is perfectly fine, no fever, no complaint of sore throat. Please tell me your take on this. Thank you for your time.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have always had "issues" with my lips. Every since I can remember, I've had on and off "cuts" in the corners of my mouth, someones on one side, sometimes on both-- when I was younger I used to call it "clown mouth." I also have very very dry, flaky lips. When i put creams, etc on it, it just seems to help maybe while it's still on, but once the cream dries/ gets wiped off etc my lips are back to how they were.
Avatar f tn I was using the cream for a patch of eczema by my mouth, so when the rash appeared I thought it was the eczema and continued to apply the cream to the spreading rash. I continued to use the cream daily for 5 months because it was the only thing that kept what I thought to be eczema at bay. After realizing what I was doing to my skin I stopped using the steroid cream and I am not using make up or face wash, just warm water. I was wondering if I can use a moisterizer or not?
Avatar f tn Anti-itch drugs, often antihistamine, may reduce the itch during a flare up of eczema, and the reduced scratching in turn reduces damage and irritation to the skin. For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone or desonide), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide). Eczema can be exacerbated by dryness of the skin. Moisturizing is one of the most important self-care treatments for sufferers of eczema.
Avatar m tn Also the best treatment of eczema is use of moisturizers which should be applied in a thin layer on the eczematous patch. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar n tn Neck lymph nodes can be the result of tonsillitis, pharyngitis (infection of upper throat), infection in mouth, caries in tooth, internal ear infection, outer ear infection, eczema, dermatitis, dandruff, breast cancer, fungal infection, other cancers like lymphoma etc. If you had flu like symptoms initially then it could be due to infectious mononucleosis too. Please discuss this with your doctor. Hope this helps. Do let me know if there is any thing else and keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar f tn I have frequent outbreaks of eczema on my hand, and the insides of my arms. In addition to all this, my upper lip has spots on it, and I have a dark ring around my mouth. I think the spots are from sun damage, as my lips were a very light pink when I was younger. The dark ring around my mouth goes away depending on what I eat. Its very irritating to be itchy and dry all the time, and I need a change. What recommendations do you have for very dry skin and sun damaged lips?
Avatar n tn How did the rash form around your mouth? Did it form in clusters? Did it form to the sides of the mouth, or on the lower chin? Did any of the rash have heads or were they flat to the skin? Lastly, do they itch or just hurt?
Avatar f tn It is symetrical all the way round my mouth about 2 inches out both sides form my mouth, all around my chin, up to the bottom of my nose. Doctors said he doesnt know, and never got back to me. I very rarely eat carrots, have stopped eating ketchup, i drink 5 pints of water a day now, to flush my system out. I have A-Z vitamins (started a month ago) and nothing is working. I cant use fake tan, as it builds up on my yellow skin and makes it even more darker, foundation does the same.
Avatar f tn I have eczema on the skin around my mouth and even on my lips. Nothing seems to work. I recently noticed that after eating anything with tomatoes, even ketchup, causes my eczema around my mouth to get worse than it already is. So I have eliminated it from my diet for almost a year now. I have even started using organic toothpaste without fluoride and sodium lauryl sulfate.
Avatar f tn I've had eczema on my hands and around my mouth for nearly four years now, what has also developed is a serious itch around my pubic area. Starts of like little water blisters then with scratching in my sleep wake up with bloodied nails and a very sore vagina. Also very flaky skin. I've tried almost everything the doctor can think of.

Avatar m tn For a really long time now Ive had marks around my mouth. Ive been treated by previous dermatologist for eczema on my face around my eyes back of my ears and even on my body but they could never help with the marks around my mouth. A previous dermatologist gave me bleaching creame and pretty much told me that because my top lip is bigger than my botton lip I may have saliva coming out the sides of my mouth even though it doesnt feel like it causing a reaction.
Avatar f tn Hello, I'm a seventeen-year-old female, very prone to atopical dermatitis, and I've had problems with what I assume is perioral dermatitis for almost two years. One doctor told me that it MIGHT be perioral because then it seemed mild, though he never prescribed me antibiotics just gave me one cream that didn't really help.
Avatar n tn Hi, I am a 19 yr old male. Several months ago, I noticed the corners of my mouth becoming dry and cracked. Almost at the same time I noticed a yeast infection on my genitals. Fast forward a couple of months, the dry cracked corners of my mouth seem to have spread downwards towards my chin and are larger and redder now. Also, there is redness that is slightly flaky on either side of my nose extending down to the top of my mouth.
Avatar f tn Okay so about a week ago I noticed that my lips were getting chapped from the corners of my mouth. Thinking that it was happening due to the weather (it's constantly cold & snowy) I just applied regular ChapStick. Just this week I noticed that it started to spreas on my bottom lip and corners of mouth. Now I have very painful red patches around my lips that ooze out liquid and are extremely dry and itchy.
Avatar m tn Is this rough white skin (that appears to be dead skin by the way) part of the eczema that is affecting the part of my lips on the inside of my mouth? And if so, I should I expect to treat it? Should I try to treat it with Protopic?
Avatar f tn is this a bad case of rosacea i have no facial flushing in that area.? is this eczema or some form of dermatitis. normal emollient creams are not moisturising enough and i find only lanolin will take the dryness away. at first i thought it was rosacea as i have had this in the same area but metrogel did not work to get rid of this. i then tried hydracortisone 1% and this takes some inflammation down but is not clearing it.

Avatar f tn I had dishydrotic eczema on the palms of my hands and then palmoplantar psoriasis. I could literally poke the dishydrotic eczema bubbles on my hand with a sterilized sewing pin and felt nothing (except and explosion of the clear fluid inside.). I don't think it's dishydrotic eczema as they shouldn't be in a row. It could be many other things. It could be hand, foot mouth disease or palmoplatar psoriasis, but if you have no other symptoms, I'd discount both.
Avatar f tn I got rid of the aerosol can and used a mild cleanser and a hypoallergenic moisturizer, like you said and my skin has improved so much. It is still very dry when I wake up in the mornings but both the eczema and redness are gone without having to use a steroid :) I got an appointment at my dermatologist in about a month and will be doing an allergy test then. I have another question concerning my acne; since I have sensitive skin I cannot use the anti-acne drugstore products.
Avatar m tn Its itchy at first then it spreads all over my face and sometime even my neck and elbow.I can barely open my mouth or eye because its so dry. It last about a week then the red patchy rash start to get extremely dry and starts peeling off. i've had this problem about 9 times now and getting very frustrated.
