Avatar m tn Ivory still has the sulfites in it. The commercial brands all do. I didn't start getting the eczema flare ups until I was an adult. I ate gluten my whole life up until that point, too. The elimination diet should help clarify if it's a food culprit. Not all eczema sufferers have the gluten issue, but it's still worth looking into.
Avatar n tn My right hand flares up bad so i use witch hazel starts clearing up with in two days!
Avatar n tn Anti-itch drugs, often antihistamine, may reduce the itch during a flare up of eczema, and the reduced scratching in turn reduces damage and irritation to the skin. For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone or desonide), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide). Eczema can be exacerbated by dryness of the skin. Moisturizing is one of the most important self-care treatments for sufferers of eczema.
Avatar n tn Hi I have a severe case of eczema. I flare up extremely bad on face and neck in the winter. Also when I sweat excessively I itch. Is there any help or products I could use to keep me from looking like a frosted flake in the winter months?
Avatar n tn You may also want to note when you see a flare up and keep a journal of the things you eat and are around- certain foods, stress levels, or other outside things we come in contact with can contribute to flare ups. If you can connect the dots to when you see a flare up and what has gone on in that week, you may be able to better avoid getting one.
Avatar f tn I also had eczema flare up during my first trimester.. to the point i had no sleep of itch and was depressed of how my skin looked like.. my dermatologist prescribed clobetasol propionate and it worked but i read steroidal meds are bad duging pregnancy, so i think you have to consult first although my baby is fine with all ultrasounds and congenital scan we had, im 33weeks in 2days... i feel sad about the scars it left me..
1731952 tn?1310179875 I have really great, smooth skin with one exception; I have patches of eczema that keep growing. I know I'm not supposed to scratch but sometimes its excruciating. I am currently on a steroid cream (triamcinalone) to clear it up and it does, but is there anything I can do to prevent future flair ups?

Avatar n tn I recently had a serious eczema flare up and it was also on my inner elbows. The redness has gone away but it is very dry and the creases on my inner elbows are dark in colour. This is on both of my elbows. I moisturize the skin 3 times a day (with aveeno dermexa moisturizing cream) but it is still very dry.
Avatar n tn I noticed afterwards that the surrounding skin of the Eczema flare up turned white. Now I have this pretty big white border around the flare up. Is this temporary? I am really worried. Thanks.
Avatar f tn I test negative for gluten intolerance/Celiac, yet not getting the eczema flare ups tells it like it really is. Conventional medicine doesn't usually recognize that diet has anything to do with eczema, but if you do a search online about anything to do with key words similar to "diet for eczema" you will find that gluten and dairy are the biggest culprits in eczema flare ups.

Avatar m tn It gets out of control if, for instance, I wear pants all day (I work at home, so wearing shorts is not a problem, but I do need to get out every now and then). And when I have sex, it will almost always flare up as well. The dermatologist said he would prescribe a stronger cream if I went back. I probably will, but I'm getting quite tired of this. It impacts my sex life, and, well, sometimes I need to wear big-boy pants as well. The redness is quite painful and itchy.
Avatar n tn I woke myself up a few nights ago because my hand had began to itch. When i woke up in the morning i looked at it and a rash, consisting of small, itchy, red bumps, had appeared on the knuckles of both my pointer fingers. It has been about 4 days now and the rash has spread up my pointer fingers, to the next knuckles, down the side of my hands and to my elbows. I have had a slight history of eczema, however, it was on my neck area and i have not had a flare up in about 3 years.

Avatar f tn ve had flare-ups my whole life. One can be free of flare-ups for a while, but then the flare-ups can show up again and can be tricky to find the root of the problem. Apparently, the eczema can be affected by allergies and intolerances, too. But, the tricky part is figuring out such allergies and sensitivities/intolerances. You will notice that the doctor who answered your post did agree with me about the B complex.

Avatar f tn I'm female and 22, and recently I have had a flare up of a pimple-like rash on my face. It starts as lots of little pimples all over my jawline and cheeks, all appears overnight. (I should also add that I have dry skin usually, and never get pimples) Then after the pimples are gone (1-2 days) it just turns into a warm, bright red patchy rash, which is shiny and swollen.
