Avatar m tn Eczema has nothing to do with HIV. It's two different issues. There is a dermatology forum here on MedHelp where you can ask questions about your skin problems or go area dermatologist.
Avatar n tn Okay, it does have its similarities to eczema in looks. But why only my face? Usually its on arms and legs. It doesnt get dry like eczema either. I just use a regular bar of soap on my face just like I always have.
Avatar n tn I have a rash on my face it is quite itchy, it is a light pinkish red. Could you tell me what it could be and what things i can do to make it less itchy?
Avatar m tn My 3 year old daughter has had 2 spots on her face for a couple of months now. Whilst they have faded, they have not gone away. At the end of last year, we went to the doctor as she had a rash in the creases of her legs and arms, as well as a bit of a body rash. The doctor at the time said is was either interior/impetigo (I cannot remember which now) in any case those rashes went away, leaving just these two spots on her face. There is a slight indentation on one on the spots.
Avatar n tn i have eczema on the area of face ,how can i look after ? i mean calming and moisturizing creams , can i use cosmetic?
Avatar n tn Hello, I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be contact dermatitis or eczema. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps. For mild-moderate symptoms a weak steroid may be used (e.g.

Avatar n tn Hello, Without examination, confirmation of a diagnosis is tough but it can be perioral dermatitis, angular cheilitis, eczema or fungal infection. P typically affects the nasolabial folds, perioral area or perioccular area. Eczema is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema.Angular cheilitis is due to bacterial infection of the corners of mouth.
1415174 tn?1453243103 Hi, everyone, I asked this question on another forum but thought it would good to ask it here too. I have dyshydrotic eczema on my shins, then it spread to my hands. I have used the Eucerin Plus product for hands and I use it on my legs and it has really kept it at bay. I also use nitrile gloves to prevent extra hand washing so most of that has cleared up. One thing I noticed after a bad breakout on my legs though the eczema didn't return the skin is still red there.
Avatar m tn I am thirteen, and have many allergies (and a slight case of hand eczema), and I have started allergy shots beginning last month. I need these spots gone in 1 month, if that is possible. thanks!
Avatar f tn Hi, welcome to the forum, Eczema, or atopic dermatitis, is a type of skin rash characterized by itchiness, redness, and scaliness. Food allergies are among several triggers that can cause or worsen eczema in susceptible people. In eczema patients respond to food triggers. Eczema can make allergy testing difficult. In people with eczema and food allergies, strictly avoiding food allergens may help reduce or, occasionally, eliminate symptoms.
Avatar f tn and spread, throughout my face... The thing is, you can only see the majority of it when it comes into contact with water - it gets horribly red and has spread over my face over time.. It now has a small place on my neck as well.. Now, it is always slightly visible (even moreso these days) on my cheeks.. and for added info when a dermatology place that came to a health fair was checking "sun damage" underneath a UV light.. you could see the rash discoloration of my face (malar)..
Avatar n tn the past 3 months i have experienced uncomfortable tight, dry facial skin. Even using emu oil does not relieve it. My face feels like it is on fire but looks normal. Body skin is fine. Recently diagnosed w diabetes 2. i am thin and fit with heriditarily good causian skin of average texture. Very nice skin. antihistamines do not relieve. what could it be?
Avatar m tn Hi, This could be an eczema or atopic dermatitis. The term eczema is broadly applied to a range of persistent skin conditions. These include dryness and recurring skin rashes which are characterized by one or more of these symptoms: redness, skin edema (swelling), itching and dryness, crusting, flaking, blistering, cracking, oozing, or bleeding. It is basically a skin inflammation which is caused due to genetic predisposition and environmental factors, allergy being the most important factor.
Avatar m tn For the past 2 summers, summers only, I have dry skin patches on my face, eyebrows, beside nose, and above the corners of my mouth. Any ideas on what this could be?
Avatar n tn Hi, welcome to the forum, her symptoms are suggestive of eczema or allergic dermatitis, secondary to exposure to allergen and mediated by IgE antibodies. Her body is known to hypersensitive to certain things. You need to rule out the triggering factor like particular clothes she wears, any chemical agent like soap, detergent she is exposed to etc. This triggering factor should be identified and should be avoided. A skin allergy test can be useful.
Avatar n tn Most likely,it loks like a case of eczema but other possibilities also have to be ruled out. Eczema is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. Avatar f tn Now why would eczema break your face out with red bumps? eczema doesn't break out in bumps. Actually has no bumps. 99% of doctors mistake another thing for eczema. Now if you had ACD, then that would explain much more. Allergic contact dermatitis, and not to be confused with contact dermatitis, which doctors do mention. Contact dermatitis is from a contact with chemicals.
Avatar n tn Anti-itch drugs, often antihistamine, may reduce the itch during a flare up of eczema, and the reduced scratching in turn reduces damage and irritation to the skin. For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone or desonide), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide). Moisturizing is one of the most important self-care treatments for sufferers of eczema.

Avatar m tn There is a sharp line on both cheeks demarcating the normal area from the affected area. I wash with cetaphil face wash and afterwards the areas are extremely dry and flaky. I'm thinking its either eczema or seborrheic dermatitis? Any advice would help! I have seen my GP and he advised me to stop using anything for a week and to come back and see him. He hasn't made a diagnosis yet.
Avatar f tn What has caused this? All of a sudden, my face became beet red and swollen blistered looking. With steroids it has dried up, not red, but still itchy. Very dry because they told me not to use moisturizer or anything on face. I just want know what happened, what caused this?
