Avatar n tn Some of the typical symptoms of eczema is itchy, flaky, dry skin. If you have these symptoms, it is possible you suffer from eczema. Unfortunately, there's not miracle cure because the flare-ups can be caused by so many things. If you have insurance or other means, see a dermatologist to confirm the skin condition and for prescription-strength corticosteroid creams or ointments. The dermatologist may even recommend a special light therapy for your skin.

Avatar m tn Hi my name is Samir. I have been suffering from an extremely itchy skin rash for at least 5 years. It started on my eyelids, and the doctor prescribed me a cortisone cream, but the problem is recurring to this day. Then 4 years ago, i developed a skin rash in my groin area around my testicles and on the inner thighs and around the anus. then this year, the problem has spread to my lower stomach, underneath the elbows, and the sides of my neck.

Avatar f tn I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be dyshidrotic eczema or contact dermatitis. It is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash). Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps. For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used (e.g.
Avatar m tn Now my family has a history of eczema and Psyoriasis. I have eczema all on my arms and psyroisis on my elbows and under my legs. Nothing serious but still there. Thinking forsure it was my eczema turning into pysriosis and or soemthing to due with my eczema I went and bought a whole bunch of eczema special creams and lotions. Then something weird happened.
Avatar n tn The rash is just on her arms. She is 11 years old. Our doctor said she was treating for scabies "just in case" as she cant understand why the eczema medicated lotion has not cleared it up. I dont think it is scabies because it has been going on since spring time and she is the only one that has the problem. And it is only on her arms, not the classic places scabies would be. She also does not have the unbearable itching that I read about scabies.
Avatar f tn Unprocessed organic virgin coconut oil soothes the area immediately and goes to work on healing eczema, dermatitis or just about any skin condition. The eczema creams on the market today can be used for both skin hydration and to reduce inflammation but coconut oil is a cheap reliable home remedy.
Avatar m tn approx 3 yrs ago had a body rash consisting of small red speckles. Covered my entire body. It was both prickly and inflamed. Infectious Disease doctor concluded it was a viral rash suggesting it had to run its course. Approx two weeks later it was gone. Now again the rash returned and two weeks later it is still with me. I visited my same doctor who suggested that the rash is consistent with likely a food allegen. The doctor took a blood sample this time.
Avatar n tn The dermatologist said he had no diagnosis. He said he was leaning towards eczema, but then said it could be some sort of cancer from within and he did a biopsy. I am 73. I have no other symtoms. No fevers, no night sweats, no weight loss, no loss of appetite. The rash is red, it is not purple and does not hurt. He really scared me. I am quite upset. He proscribed a cream for eczema and told me to see if that helped.
Avatar n tn In the arch of my right foot there is an itchy blotch that peels every so often (perhaps some of the "cures" I've tried. Sometimes it itches so bad I can hardly stand it. I've tried Oil of Oregano, Iodine, baking soda, vinegar, peroxide, campho phenique. Nothing has cured it but I was hoping for a more instant cure. How long do I need to doctor this foot and what IS the best remedy?
Avatar m tn I first started having small, clear, itchy blisters on my hands/ around my fingers and then they spread to my feet. They small under the skin at first and then seem to band together and get bigger and bigger. Ultimately, they got so big on my feet that I couldn't work for 3 weeks and they were protruding out from my feet about an inch. It was the most horrific experience ever. I was put on Prednisone and every other cream out there for this problem.
Avatar n tn I have a history of eczema, but it only is targeted in certain areas of my body and I have medication for it, which has not helped the areas of my itchiness. It is not chicken pox because I had it when I was little. These bumps are incredibly itchy and no matter what cream, prescribed or not, soap, etc..they are not going away. Some days are less and other days are incredibly swollen like rash, it seems to be spreading.
Avatar n tn I have a rash over most of my body. and at times it itches. it started just scattered spots on my arms and armpits. I get poison a lot so thats what the doctors first thought it was so they gave me Prednisone, after 2 prescriptions of that they gave me a shot of triamcinolone acetonide. neither did anything. then they thought it might be scabies so they gave me permethrin cream, I did that twice and for some reason after I used that, The rash really spread to cover most of my back and sides.
Avatar f tn http://itsan.org/ I still have the eczema blisters on my fingers, but I have been trying to keep it under control by covering it with cotton finger bandages, giving it occasional salt water cleaning, and occasionally applying a tiny bit of turmeric to stop the weeping/itching. I don't moisturize it because I noticed that any moisturizer I use (whether it's cetaphil or something more natural like olive oil, etc.) would cause irritation.
Avatar n tn Folliculitis is NOT contagious and has either a bacterial or fungal cause that is resident in the body of the sufferer. The best cure I've found is a topical solution of 97% rubbing alcohol with a cotton ball, twice daily to kill the bacteria. Follow this with a mild moisturizer so that your skin does not dry out. If the symptoms are really bad, do the treatment 3 times a day.
Avatar m tn Itchiness is a dominant factor. The itch scratch cycle may lead to a wet or weeping rash as in the case of eczema. Wash the area with a mild cleanser and keep the area dry always. Use Cetaphil cleanser to keep the area from being irritated. There is really no single definite medical treatment for eczema. Topical corticosteroids may help control the flare. Avoid using the gym equipment or at least keep your skin well covered when in the gym.
Avatar m tn To whoever is qualified to help me, I have noticed in the past few days that i am beginning to develop very strong body odor for reasons unexplained. i have determined that the smell originates in the armpit area, but i have no idea why. I use regular soap in the shower, i keep the armpits shaved, and i have increased my showers to three times a day. i am very scared that it is something serious but i don't know.
