Avatar n tn In infants the cheek seems to be the most common area involved. Infantile eczema may have variable appearances .They do not have a definite characteristic. So ,this is still a likely differential here. I suggest you seek second opinion with another dermatologist .A pediatric dermatologist, if there is one in the area may be able to help. Psoriasis or seborrheic dermatitis are also differentials but psoriasis is rare in infants and young children.
1486289 tn?1315842255 ve found the aveeno line of products to be EXTREMELY helpful and it has helped us to minimize the use of topical steroids. Aveeno does make a line of products for infants. There is also an infant eczema cream tho I'm not sure of the brand..it's in a pale green and white tube though.
Avatar n tn I have a 7 month old with severe eczema--we have tried a lot of things. We are currently doing the "soak & seal" (aquafore & cereva) and avoiding his food allergies, but he is still extremely itchy. He is taking xyzal 1cc every 8 hours. It seems to come and go on his own. Is there any safe product for infants to help with the itching. Is Sarna Sensitive safe? some drs say it is ok, some say it isn't safe for babies. Thanks so much.
Avatar f tn ve read many scary things regarding this condition and its causes. Shortly after my diagnosis my wife also developed the condition I believe on/around her nose only. Mine was on my scalp and forehead. Now I am starting to see redness on my school age child that resembles this condition as well as dry skin in the ear lobe. It seems like a rare condition from what I have read. Ive been told its not contagious but now they've started getting this on their face and their scalp is fine.
1395422 tn?1308016251 I have never experienced any type of eczema until now. It does run in my family, my mom has asthma and my baby has eczema. It is now to the point that I cringe when I have to feed him on that side. Can somebody tell me what to do to help ease the pain and/or make this go away. Also if anyone on here could share their experience with this, that would be nice. Thanks so much.
