Common Questions and Answers about Eczema bleach cure

eczema

Avatar m tn I read an article about a woman who bathe in bleach in an attempt to cure eczema and burned 90 plus percent of her skin. It was horrible! I do hope that someone more knowledgeable than I would be able to read your post. Just don't lose hope as help will eventually comes along.
Avatar m tn Plus she told me to take warm baths 3x weekly with 2 TBS bleach in the water. Plus put on Aveeno Eczema cream over top the Clobetasol 2x daily. I also purchased a whole house humidifier to keep the humidity at 40-45%. The condition began to improve immediately and I thought I was on my way to a cure. I did get a reaction to the meds (antibiotics?) which produced another milder rash. I went back to her for a follow up exam 2 weeks later and was told that people sometimes get this reaction.
Avatar m tn Paller recently completed the first study to rigorously test bleach baths against eczema, and she said the results, not yet published, were promising". This method was prescribed by a qualified Dermatologist to treat eczema, point being this is a bona fide recommendation, worthy of serious consideration, and seemly an effect symptomatic treatment for certain skin conditions, other then eczema.
1559007 tn?1294715408 What treatment plan is your son on for the eczema? My daughter has it. As long as she is using her ointment, she doesn't have a problem. If she stops using it and flares, she cannot tolerate even mildly warm water. We have found that sun exposure helps her very much. She only flares in the fall and winter when she doesn't get outside as much. This could be related to vitamin D levels. You may want to take you son to a dermatologist or allergist to find an effective treatment plan.
Avatar m tn I don't know how itchy arms happens but I found something that made the super itchiness in my arms stop. A friend who's had a life-time of eczema told me about bleach baths. So I did as he advised, I took a cup of bleach (Clorox) and poured it in a bath tub of warm/hot water and got in it for 10 minutes. The first time I did this ended all of the itching. Four days later I did this bleach bath again because I thought I felt the itch returning and again it worked.
Avatar n tn My 8 year old son has what is believed to be eczema we have done a biopsy which one pathologist read as psoriasis and another read as eczema and his dermatologist thought he had skin lupus. We are currently treating it as eczema and he is on elidel and triamcinolone cream, we have tried tanning beds and bleach baths. No relieve, this has been going since last Nov. The dermatologist wants to put him on methotraxate (sp?) (chemo drug). I am nervous, any advice????
Avatar m tn But I also clean our house and use bleach for bathrooms. Please let me know if you have found a cure as my doc just keeps prescribing different creams each time it is getting expensive none has helped and I have lot of half empty tubes of creams now. Feeling really worried.
Avatar f tn My four year old daughters eczema keeps flaring up and is constantly unwell. Who would be able to test the mould to see if its toxic? So I could rule this out as a cause or contributory factor.
1205562 tn?1554747006 t about pregnancy but I also know a lot of you ladies have other children. My daughter has eczema, and i was wondering if anyone knew of any remedies or creams that help??? My poor baby's wrists and certain area's of her legs are really bad!!
Avatar n tn I have severe eczema. I recently broke out with a rash in between my fingers. The skin has become raw and bruised. In some areas cracked causing it to bleed. I have also noticed my right index finger is sore and it feels almost like the nail is detaching. I don't have insurance because I was recently laid off. Is there anything over the counter I could use?
Avatar f tn If it's a type of eczema, what he eats will make a difference. I have a different type of eczema, but the strategies will be the same. Google "eczema diet" or "what not to eat with eczema". Also, it matters what the skin comes into contact with. He may be allergic to sulfites. Check out the allergy community and look for the thread called "what else contains sulfites". There are some links within the thread for you to consider.
Avatar n tn Anti-itch drugs, often antihistamine, may reduce the itch during a flare up of eczema, and the reduced scratching in turn reduces damage and irritation to the skin. For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone or desonide), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide). Do discuss these with your doctor and exclude any possible causes in your case.
Avatar n tn We have all been exposed to bleach at one time or another and experienced similar symptoms. Bleach should be applied in a five percent solution. That is the military standard for bacteriological decontamination. It is not necessary to use undiluted bleach.
Avatar n tn Their is no cure for eczema. I also work in construction and have it between my legs. Not the same type that you have and the doctors are still debating over what my skin problem is. But I have read a lot about eczema and their is no cure. But it does go away on it's own and is treatable. I would definitely start wearing gloves as washing your hands causes more problems.

Avatar m tn i have the herpes virus in my eczema, i was wondering if you could tell me what is the best things to use other than my medication ?
Avatar n tn I have dealt with a rash on my ankle for over a year now, and I have been to several doctors and tried several products in the hopes of getting it to go away with no success. I first noticed it after a camping trip, and I have tried the following products - Caladryl, Tea Tree Oil, Foot fungus sprays, calamine lotion, antibiotic ointments and even (only for 2 days and no, I won't be trying it again) bleach. Nothing can touch it. And it itches fiercely.
Avatar n tn If I expose my hands to bleach or detergents for too long I get a rough sensation when my fingers move together because the skin on my hands is flaking off. Is it like that? If it is, can I recommend that you minimise contact with such products and scrupulously rinse your hands clean after coming into contact with them. Also, try a different lotion that is suitable for very sensitive skin (handcreams often aren't). I find plain old petroleum jelly is the kindest. Hope that helps.
Avatar n tn It will come and go for the rest of your life. Balantis is just eczema on the penis. Do you have eczema any where else? Cortisone cream should clear it up. Apply twice a day for a week. If you came in contact with something that you are allergic to it will clear up as long as you don't come in contact with the substance again.
Avatar n tn It could take a week or so. But if you are still in contact with the cause, it won't help. Change your laundry detergent to an allergen free detergent. Don't use bleach, fabric softener or dryer pads. They cause a lot of problems. Try changing your soap to an all natural fragrance free soap. This could also be eczema or fungal.
Avatar m tn Hello, Eczema is characterised by red, dry patches which are itchy. If the rash is non itchy then it can be pityriasis alba. Pityriasis alba is a common skin condition mostly occurring in children and usually seen as dry, fine-scaled, pale patches on the face. No treatment is required and the patches in time will settle in due course of time. The redness, scale and itch if present may be managed with simple emollients and sometimes hydrocortisone, a weak steroid, is also used.
Avatar f tn ve had reddish little red bumps on my upper arms since late childhood and a less severe version on my lower arms as well. My doctor finally told me what it was. Not eczema, not psoriosis, but a genetic condition that affects around 40% of caucasian people to varying degrees. It is essentially a perpetually clogged hair follicle/dry skin condition. I got a great product for it from PCA called the "dry skin relief bar" and it is doing a great job so far.
Avatar m tn my daughter has a horrible skin rash on the top of her foot, and right on the bone of her elbow - it is super itchy and unfortunately she scratches it to the point of bleeding. We have tried every manner of cortizone's, antibiotics, bleach baths, etc all recommended by her pediatrician and a dermatologist but nothing is curing it. One Dr says it eczema one says its impetigo but so far no treatment works. It does not look like classic eczema as her skin is just not dry?
