Avatar m tn Do you have any skip problems if you simply jog or run slowly for 3 to 5 miles, or is it only when you go for what, 10 miles? I have no idea how to train for a marathon, nor do most of the people who will read our post on this Community. I'll try to check back to see if I have any ideas given more information.
Avatar f tn Assuming this to be the initial part of training I would suggest continuing to train for a few more weeks before you are able to set a target for your weight. You may also consider consulting a physical trainer and a dietician to chalk out a training programme for you. Hope this is helpful. Take care!
Avatar m tn This past year has been really rough. in January I choose to be a vegetarian and train for a half marathon. Around April I lost my period, and haven't had it since. I lost a lot of weight (25 lbs) and weighed 100 during the summer and consider my eating habits to have been mildly anorexic. I now weigh in my healthy range, but i suffer bulimia and have been cycling and running for excessive amounts of time (2-4 hours almost every day). I don't know how to get my period back.

This time it's the Melbourne Ironman in March 2013. 3.8km Swim / 180km Bike Ride / 42.2km Marathon to finish.
Avatar f tn Congratulations on your pregnancy! If you were not active before this is not the time to train for a marathon. Your best options are swimming and walking. Drink lots of fluids and reduce the added sugar products on your diet. How? Read the label and every 4 grams is the equivalent to 1 teaspoon of sugar. This is an eye opening way to protect your baby from harmful sugar. Don't get discouraged if you gain wait cause you're having a baby after all.
Avatar n tn 03 marathon almost one year to date and last December began a rapid, almost abrupt inability to run/train. Since beginning the medication my joints and muscles have felt much improved. I'm picking up speed....though no where near my former racing self. The doctor believes there may be other issues, including an imbalance between estrogen/progesterone and testosterone levels that might be at play. I will locate my old test results and share.
6867745 tn?1398948987 Just pay attention to your body and do t get too crazy...dont want to train for a marathon or anything but you should be fine. Talk to your doc just to be certain but I was very active and have friends that have continued their running several miles daily and been just fine.
Avatar f tn at first i begin to run at 10 mins,,and now for almost a 1 and a half month i can able to run at 20 or 30 min without stopping for a speed of 6.5mph..it slowly but this is just the best as i can for now...and i have noticed that while i am running or exrciseing i dont feel any uncomfortable feeling of my body especially my stomach...but after a feww hrs or get in home i hve had this stomach ache issue....i have a dream to join in marathon even in short race..

15695260 tn?1549593113 I look for shoes where I have a little extra space in the toes (toes not near touching the front of the shoe), and some shoes are wider in the forefoot than others. A lot of people need some room for the toes to spread out a bit when they run, and for me it has been trial and error finding what works. (Error ends up with damaged toenails and other misfortunes on 20 mile plus runs).

Avatar n tn If you do enter, you should probably carry a cell phone in case you need to call for a ride back. Another precaution is to take aspirin daily as strokes can occur from clots formed during a-fib if it goes on for a while. Best to have your blood already thinned. As for future marathons there is hope. I think that for endurance athletes one of the best cases of complete recovery is pro cyclist Bobby Julich formally with Team CSC who retired last year at 36.
Avatar f tn It isn't a good idea to diet while pregnant. But, a lot of women that start heavier actually lose weight while pregnant. It is pretty common. Either way...don't worry about it too much. Your doctor will give you a weight range they want you to stay in and tips on nutrition. Follow that but do not diet. On exercise....the rule is you can maintain the level of activity that you are already doing. But it isn't a good time to train for a marathon.
473883 tn?1322853038 The other thing that helps is knowing the right times to take the puppy outside or to its place to do business. A puppy will poop and pee shortly after eating, drinking, playing hard, or sleeping. If you leave food out and the puppy is constantly nibbling and drinking, it will be much harder to predict the potty times. Feed on a schedule and you will be that much farther ahead of the game!
Avatar n tn I had various leg pains off and on and finally a severe groin pain during a half marathon. Turned out I had a broken hip. Had surgery last week and now I can't run for 6 weeks or more. Now I'm a lot older than you, so probably you don't have anything like that, but you could have stress fractures and they take forever to heal. I know, I've had 5 of them. They take about 6 weeks to heal, but that's with no running. Can you bike instead?
Avatar f tn Hiya @ golightly thanks .. my doctor is worst person to talk to lol I gad to mk an appointment to get midwifes number .. ha ha dt was funny.. na I didnt hv ny problems with suger levels befor just suddenly mostly in the eve I need something to keep it normal or ill b sitting here half mad.. .. @ auberi.. I knw wt u mean bless I think v have very hungry babys inside us.. mine is hungry al the time but very fussy like its dad who is very picky on food..

He had the nerve to suggest high protein intake and I looked him directly in the eye and said, "That's totally wrong." (I didn't tell him my HCV forum was my source of expertise.) Anyway, I bought lots of perfect goodies and they're all on target for the marathon, according to your advice.
