4715985 tn?1371582997 My mom says its easier to give birth if u keep a good steady weight gain and dont gain too much and its much easier to go back to ur original body state after baby is born. Im hoping it stops at the third trimester too then lol plus i go threw milk like crazy! Does anyone know if theres such a thing as too much milk?
Avatar n tn Congrats on your little baby. And trust me that is completely normal to not have much appetite at that stage ..most people actually lose weight because of throwing up and loss of appetite and I was one of them, just the thought of food made me sick . It made me so nervous that I wasn't eating enough to nurture my baby but he was A OK.. I'm now 18 weeks and still barely eating much. So I wouldn't stress too much over it. Just made sure you are keeping hydrated.
Avatar f tn I went from being a vegan for 40 years to eating red meat in the last year. Everyone is different. I do much better eating red meat. My hemoglobin has been boosted by it. I'm within range now and that's a miracle. I seem to process it just fine at stage3/4. Not as weak as I was. Lentils have tons of protein and natural iron. 35% to be exact. Trail and error to see what works best for you may be the thing.
Avatar f tn There are as many theories (and books) on how much protein to consume as there are ants in your back yard. Nobody knows the answer to this, as people are different, and it depends on what you're trying to accomplish. Too much protein is bad for your kidneys, too little is bad for growth and recovery from exercise.
Avatar m tn What are the side effects of taking protein shakes? And how much protein is safe to take a day bot in shakes and total protein intake?
Avatar n tn Protein won't necessarily be your friend. It depends on the protein. The reason athletes love it is because they work out a lot and turn the protein into muscle. They also tend to eat lean meat. Eating fatty meat will cause weight gain, but in the form of fat, but high protein diets in the short run will cause weight loss, though it's not healthy to eat too much protein.
1415174 tn?1453243103 I am vegan and use a vegan protein powder to supplement 20 grams extra a day. So my total protein is about 75-80 grams (not 95g). I read that you can get too much growth hormone (which is good for building muscle) but it creates insulin like growth factor (ILGF). Too much ILGF can potentially cause cancer. So that is what I am asking. What has anyone read about this.
Avatar f tn That's probably because you need to detox your body. I have the same. Fresh fruits veggies and jello that's all I can eat during my first trimester. No need to worry they have all the nutrients we need.
Avatar f tn Make sure you eat enough at meal times to keep you from wanting to snack - center your meals around lean protein and veggies that contain a lot of fiber; both protein and fiber full you up and keep you fuller longer. Protein is also the building block for muscle and muscle burns fat. Here's an article by Dr James Beckerman that might help you. http://www.medhelp.org/healthy-living/articles/10-Ways-to-Lose-10-Pounds/101?page=2 And don't forget exercise.
4592444 tn?1362029703 Are u feeling like u have to vomit or does your bones hurt ? Your baby is taking alot of nutrients from you so u have to take vitamins somehow...I have only gained like 7 pounds and im 22 weeks and 1 day and im 112...
Avatar n tn My nutritionist, who I do like, wants me to drink whey protein shakes (1 per day) to get my protein levels up. A friend of mine with hypo told me to STOP drinking them, and considering I am on new medication (Armour-2 grains) and gaining weight with recurring hypo symptoms (please, do not tell me to eat less, I am eating under 1300 calories a day), she may be right. Does anyone have information as to whether whey is good for a hashimoto's hypothyroid patient or bad?
Avatar f tn Enjoy it while you can! I was eating so much my first few weeks. I could eat anything, now at 11+6 I haven't been able to eat anything, all food is displeasing. This last week has been a challenge for me. I literally force myself to eat and then vomit later. I buy something to eat and almost immediately regret it because the smell tortures me. Not fun, wishing I could go back to eating whatever I want, or fast forward to eating what/when ever I want lol.
Avatar n tn Try protein shakes, I add frozen fruit to them to thicken them up. Its easier for me to drink my calories. You can also get ready made drinks like ensure or boost they have a lot of nutrition in them!

Avatar m tn i was told i have too much protein and also microscopic blood in my urine,my dr wants me to work on getting the protein numbers down what do i eat ,do i stay away from foods with high protein am i allowed to eat low amounts i have mild chronic kidney disease.
Avatar f tn Just a few weeks ago, living on only egg whites and plant protein I have started to have all symptoms of B12 deficiency and not enough protein intake. I am now waiting for that result and have started on B supplements. I started to increase intake of protein via plant based protein powder. My problem is that now I seem to be having the same reaction to this soy-free plant-based protein. I've seen so many doctors and specialists I can't count.
425312 tn?1279966179 Are you going thru withdrawels? If so, yes that can be pretty common. But you must make sure you eat and push fluids or you can make the w/d's worse. Try to find something that you can get down, soup , crackers, fruit. Try getting Boost with protein, they have alot of vitamins and don't taste to bad. You need extra protein and amino acids. good luck and hang in there.
1496456 tn?1288877552 hi i am 19 years old guy. having 130 lbs weight ,175 cm height ..problem is that i am very skinny..i want to gain weight but my Metabolism rate is very High, eating much doesn't work for me because after a few hours i feel hungry...and it is a big problem for me... someone plz give me some suggestions. i will be very thankful!!
Avatar n tn I have a 4 yr old daughter that never wants to eat also. At first she didn't wanna eat but was always hungry. Then we tried the whole splitting the plate and you eat this half and u can be done. Then she would start gaging and throwing up at the table because she didn't want to eat. I talked to her doctor they said it was a phase and wern't worried because her weight and everything was fine. They gave me a packet on other ideas to try and get her to eat. We tryed those.
Avatar n tn You can try drinking a herbal ginger tea to help settle the nausea. Helped abit for me. Also try snacking on saltine crackers so your stomach doesn't stay completely empty... I lost about 20lbs when I first got pregnant, and am having a healthy pregnancy now at 29wks. Small sips of water to keep hydrated is also a good idea. Pedialyte is another good one to boost your electrolytes or watered down gatorade. hope you feel better soon!
Avatar f tn I've decided to try to handle my acid reflux by eating more easy to digest foods, staying off fried foods and adding lots more green vegetables and celery to my diet to alkalize my body (as well as taking Aciphex). I usually have yogurt and a green drink in the morning. I added whey protein to the mix today and now my heartburn is back. Whey is supposed to be super easy to digest. Has anyone else had problems with whey protein?
Avatar f tn That's an awful lot of protein... my doctor has me on a high protein diet, 108 grams/day and most days I can't make that, even with a couple of shakes. Are shakes and water all you plan to consume? If so, that's not good or sustainable. In addition, weight lost too and not in a healthy manner will most likely be regained as soon as you start eating normally again, even if maintaining a healthy diet.
