1154065 tn?1262184706 Are you on any medications? Do you go to Therapy? Breathing excersizes really help. I have the health anxiety, any little ache or pain is always something major, I feel your pain and I am sorry you are going threw this. Hope you feel better soon.
Avatar m tn I have heard of this. It is a fear of strange people watching you eat. People can fear alot of different unrealistic things. I am afraid of spiders. Even little ones and ones that cannot hurt me even if they tried. I do my best to stay away from places that spiders are likely to be. That's just how I handle it. I think you need a different approach. Try sitting in a corner table, or a section with very few people in it. Sit with your back to strangers.
Avatar n tn If its not too severe to cause physical injury and/or its not hampering the child socially and/or it does not bother the child, then its probably just a habit -- If any of these other conditions exist, then the anxiety is a bit more serious, and you should take your child for a psychological evaluation to see if anything can be done to help with the anxiety.
Avatar f tn t eat enough, then you might ask the doctor for a referral to someone experienced with eating disorders. Eating disorders are no fun at all and they only get worse. But the good news is that at your age you could get better with a little help because it hasn't been going on too long.
Avatar f tn t done this already to see a doctor. While this could very well be anxiety, you do need to rule out physiological causes to know for sure. If you haven't the ability to get to a doctor or natural practitioner who understands nutrition well just try stopping wheat and dairy for a couple weeks and see what happens, as they're the two most common problematic foods.
Avatar m tn t worry too much. I was around your age when I began to have issues with anxiety. Try to do something you enjoy and start eating smalls meals throughout the day. Also, be sure to stay hydrated.
Avatar n tn Nevertheless she continues to eat it. I have no idea where to begin to solve this problem but we know it needs to be resolved soon.
Avatar f tn s totally random (which is starting to make me nervous when I do have to eat, that it going to trigger a reaction). I tried buspar n it took me down a few pegs but I noticed I was agitated- didn't really work. I saw an endocrinologist (when I was on the fluoxetine n topamax) and everything was spot on. Should I get rechecked now that I'm off the other meds or is the Wellbutrin just not the right med and maybe see a pdoc? Any ideas on what could be going on? Thanks for your help!
Avatar f tn You clearly don't understand how severe this phobia is or don't suffer from a phobia that is a true phobia if you can easily say something like this to me. I'm aware there are people out there without food but that isn't something I'm able to help is it? I'd love to help them if I could but this is something my mind has been made to see as a threat. It's absolutely petrifying to be emetophobic and it is hard to handle.
Avatar n tn you should go to ya doctor, and tell him whats been going on..
Avatar f tn Firt of all I want to say I appriciate the efforts to help people here its fantastic! My problem is: I had protected sex with a woman at 6th of june and I am worried that because I fingered her and because I had a scub now I might have HIV from her. Then I checked the reassuring archives of this site and learned its very low risk. The thing that has stuck on my mind is we grinded totally naked for about 5 minutes.
Avatar m tn Does eating help with anxiety when it rears its ugly head also exercise?? Very curious what others think about this.

Avatar m tn I think you're probably weak from not eating and the anxiety. I went through something almost exactly the same and I'm still recovering from it. Everytime I ate I would have diarrhea (sorry to be so graphic) and so I became terrified to eat. I would go like 3 days at a time without eating. I would get incredibly nauseous after eating because I would think about getting sick and so I would feel sick.
3166043 tn?1514260018 Now its to the point where im sure im not eating enough and im worrying about that which leads to anxiety which leads to my appetite disappearing and the gagging feeling when I think about food. I see every meal as a challenge and then when I eat it I say "well until the next time I have to eat" everytime I eat I worry i'll have a loose BM and it's like now im scared to eat. It's never been this bad but since the hard gagging i'm scared.

Avatar f tn There is a wide range of treatments for anxiety disorders available that could help you learn how to cope with the problem and control over anxious situations. The type of anxiety treatment you need will depend on the severity of the problem. Usually, health professionals suggest lifestyle changes; eating a healthy diet and doing physical and mental exercises to improve activity levels and reduce stress levels.
Avatar n tn Thank you for your help. I feel like the only thing I can do is talk to someone about it. But I've never been one to go and seek help from other people for things. I was more interested if there was anything I could do on my own. I've started forcing food down my throat even though it makes me gag. I'm just trying to get my stomach used to having normal meals in there but it's hard. Is there anything else I can do? I don't feel comfortable going to someone.
794366 tn?1418009395 I binge eat when I get severely depressed, but lately that has not helped me, but still I cannot help myself. I have been to overeaters anonymous, therapists, counselors, nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any new coping skills?
Avatar m tn Have you choked on something in the past to create this anxiety? To only have anxiety for such a short period of time, I really feel therapy would greatly benefit you. Your anxiety has manifested itself in this one particular fear and with help you can over come this. My anxiety used to make me feel like I was choking on my food and I had to calm myself down, and then continue to eat. But I felt better eating smaller bites and before long this never happened again.
Avatar f tn hey there..I think we have something in common but just that I'm thin and can't seem to eat in public too. I do feel like vomiting when I'm eating out. I'm here to seek some help too. But when I'm with certain friends I tend to eat fine and eat quite a lot too.
Avatar f tn My son had a huge panic attack almost two weeks ago and has had a couple more since. All occurred after eating. I'm going to suggest to him the Tums before eating and I'm also going to investigate the gluten angle. He's in college therefore not eating healthy and , of course plenty of beer involved as well. Has had anxiety issues for a long time but never anything like these past two weeks.
Avatar f tn Because when my dr put me on them for a month straight, I really had to be careful because all I wanted to do was eat! I gained 8 lbs in that month and I was trying to watch what I ate. As a child it would be harder to watch what you eat, all you know is that you are hungry and want food now! lol If she is not on steroids, then i have no idea what would cause this unless it is just a growth spurt. I know my 10 yr old is going thru one now and eats all the time but not that much at once.
Avatar f tn So can other things, though. Very often anxious people turn to comfort eating and eating too quickly and not chewing their food properly and get digestive problems. Medication for anxiety and depression also often causes digestive problems. Reflux, if you have it, is usually caused by incomplete digestion and laying down too soon after eating so that the gas goes up instead of staying in the abdomen.
