Avatar n tn My doctor just told me that I am slightly hypertensive and borderline type II diabetic. She put me on the diet plan for daibetics and I like it. I've been losing weight and getting energy highs then I get the "munchies" for popcorn and BBQ chips. I can't drink fruit juices or anything else except diet soda, water, and diet teas or sugar free Kool Aid. But if I drink the sugar free stuff I get so "gassy" and diarrhea. This part ***** big time.
Avatar f tn It will be important to match your insulin dose with what you are eating so that you can avoid both high and low blood sugars. If you are having lows it may become necessary to eat small snacks between meals. To help control your blood sugar (aside from the insulin) you need to adopt the followign for diet and exercise:- 1. Ideally 30 minutes of exercise after each meal.
Avatar f tn I am freaking out to find that my blood type O has to do with me having manic episodes (I've been hospitalized five times). For about 4 years one of my friends has been talking about the EAT RIGHT FOR YOUR BLOOD TYPE book. I thought it was a bunch of non sense, but a couple of years ago I did try to find out my blood type and none of the nurses I asked could find it.
Avatar m tn Low 60's 2 hours after eating dinner is low and not normal. When was your last doctor visit?
Avatar f tn Things like pastries will raise his blood sugar quickly, and could cause him to go high if hes not careful, not to mention the other negative aspects of that style of eating. I would encourage him to eat fruits, vegetables and lean meats so that he may maintain a healthy diet, that will also be easier on his blood sugar response.
Avatar f tn If your baby has any positive blood type if your body senses the RH factor, what makes blood positive, your body will try to attack it, in turn attacking baby.
Avatar f tn Any woman who is a negative blood type has to get the shot if baby is positive blood type it's just normal
Avatar f tn Okay so my blood type is o-negative , I'll be 20 weeks tomorrow and everybody has been telling me that I'm suppose to get a shot twice so that my blood doesn't fight off the babies blood if he has a different type. Has anyone else ever had this problem? Should I call my Dr and ask?
Avatar f tn If your body senses babies blood and they have a positive blood type your body will try to get rid off the foreign body, the shot prevents this from happening. You and baby are fine now just be careful and they usually give the shot at 28 weeks. Luckily both my husband and I are positive. My mom was negative so she had to go through this with me.
Avatar f tn 1st pregnancy will be fine but will still get shots. There has to have been a crossover of a positive blood group baby into your system before your body starts to attack a positive baby this can be a miscarriage, birth or abortion that wasnt treated with the anti d.
2174396 tn?1337605170 Blood as in type alone, no. But you can have platelet problems or need to have blood transfusions in uterero. Trust me, I just delievered my baby yesterday at 31 weeks after going through hell. But, it is very rare. But can be checked.
Avatar f tn I'm 27 weeks pregnant and I was told I'm a negative for my blood type and I need to get a shot I was just wondering if any of y'all have gotten it and if so when is it necessary to get it?
Avatar f tn They only give you O type blood if they have to because its a neutral blood type and your body wont reject it.
Avatar f tn They will automatically give you the shot around 28 weeks since babies blood type is unknown. If they Abby has your blood type after delivery you won't need another shot. If baby has positive blood type they will give you the shot. Don't freak yourself out , I'm rh- as well and I'm pregnant with my third healthy babyboy.
Avatar f tn i have a neg blood type to...an if its the same shot my mom told me about its used bcuz ur body will fight off the baby like it would a cold No worries tho....
Avatar n tn My Doctor told me (Type II) that I needed to get my A1C under 7.0. I am currently at 6.5 and with my weight loss, he is slowly cutting me back from medications.
Avatar f tn My fiances mom is rh negative, as well as my mom. I've heard horrible rumors that women with this blood type either can't have children, or will have children with disabilities which is obviously not true :) this blood type ain't no Thang ;) just gotta get a shot around 28w, as well as after birth.
Avatar f tn Anything with carbs is going to spike your blood sugar. If your trying to stabilize blood sugar, I would recommend eating lots of protein and vegetables. As for carbs, choose the healthy carbs or brown rice and more slow digesting carbs. That way your blood sugar won't rise as high or fast. I'm type 1 diabetic and pregnant, so u have been testing blood sugar like crazy for a good amount of my life.
Avatar n tn her family should keep a tight control with her blood glucose. I know it is painful to see a 5 years old being pricked but it is for her own sake... please urge her parents to look for "free diabetes educator, support groups, etc" especially in her local hospitals... sometimes they offer free seminars that will help her family to cope with her diagnosis and help her to be her best helper!
Avatar n tn You need to get a blood test done pretty fast because it is manageable. Now she is type 1 and my Father is type 2 and even though its not funny we would laugh cause he would almost go right to sleep after eating anything sweet. Then he found out he was type 2 and doing good on the medications from his doctor. Get it checked out now do not wait.
Avatar n tn Is it widely the norm to have a healthy pregnancy/healthy baby if you have had type 1 diabetes since childhood? What are the biggest risks? What should be the biggest focus to maintain a healthy pregnancy/baby? Looking for opinions, suggestions, personal stories, resources like websites. I've already been doing some reading and have gone to my endocrinologist with this question. I am 32 years old, have had type 1 since I was 12 years old.

Avatar n tn For the past few weeks I have eaten nothing but sugar packets. Thanks to Halloween I have candy but my blood sugar continues to drop so quick. It use to 2 hours before my blood sugar drops now it is every 30 minutes. Candy nor sugar is keeping it up. I live off $7/mo. Any advice?
Avatar f tn The best way to know what works for YOU is to try a certain food and test your blood glucose two hours after eating and make sure you stay within target. If a certain food spikes you up say over 140 you might try a lesser amount of that food or just eliminate it from your diet. It is not really possible to make a list of foods to eat and not eat because we are all different. But a diet of protein and lots of fresh vegies, small amounts of fruit and small amounts of carbs should do best.
Avatar f tn I went to diabetes center for diet counseling, I walk and ride my bicycle 6 times a week, weather permitting and still may have to get pills to control this blood sugar problem. The diet modifications have not helped. I have no family history of diabetes. MCV is also out of range. I have been considered free of the Hep C virus for 2.5 years now. Had stage 3 plus liver damage with type 3 then was told it was type 1. Who knows? Any comments? Thanks.
