Avatar f tn Have 3 meals and one or two snacks. Try nuts like almonds or fruit for a snack, or raw veggies. Raw green beans are good, and so are raw sugar snap peas. Maybe a handful of raisins. Maybe you would like kale chips. Learn to cook using veggies, olive oil, herbs, fish. These things are real food, not junk.

Avatar m tn Thinking these things should be good for us. So if I eat beans, brockley, cabbage, fruits like peaches, prunes, apricots, ect, they cause massive gas. So the more healthy I eat the worst I feel. Does anyone know why healthy things cause so much gas?
Avatar f tn Random bit of info too, when my sister was pregnant she was ordering from a Thai place and she picked something from the menu and the Thai lady that served her said you shouldn't eat bamboo shoots because in her country women eat them to bring on labour! Also can't eat sprouts or beans (alfalfa, mung beans etc) not sure why? Can't eat soft serve ice cream due to raw eggs in mixture (risk of food born illness) etc can't eat deli meats...
Avatar n tn Let me give an example, however, while I'm at it -- take beans. A lot of people get smelly output when they eat them, but it's not because they're toxic; quite the contrary, they're really good for you. It's because they have complex fibers in them that are hard to digest.

Avatar f tn I wouldn't worry to much about it. I have absolutely no appetite and my doctor told me to try nuts. It worked for a while but my baby was small too. He told me around the 16th week mark I'm going to start eating everything so if I try shakes and just other things with alot of good stuff in it that by the time I do start eating I'll have a little extra room for weight gain without getting to big. Carrots have been working too.
Avatar f tn I get those dried beans, you can get what kind you like, I use a combo of pintos, black beans, lima beans, navy beans, red beans, black eyed peas, they are full of protein and no fat. When you buy the canned refried beans, those are cooked in LARD and are full of fat and sodium. You rinse the the dried beans through a colander and soak them in water over night. Then you cook them on the stove top for about two hours, adding water if necessary.
Avatar f tn You also need to make sure you get your proteins and fats (You need some sort of fat in your diet)- beans, nuts, cheeses, mushrooms, meats, avocado, etc. You can get most of what you need through veggies but just eating veggies isn't enough. Also, are these veggies raw, cooked, canned frozen? That really changes their values and their ability to keep you healthy. Just keep all of that in mind.
136956 tn?1688675680 Hi I hear your story on a raw foods level...as a 35yr old vegetarian of now 20yrs, the bloating, cramps, constipation (I think IBS-C) and pain/cramps in lower abdomen have gotten worse over age 30. The last 5yrs have seen my belly grow to the current stage of a 6month pregnant woman when I eat any beans and also recently, raw veggies without any carbs.
