Avatar f tn Unfortunately something went horribly wrong and he could not swallow food afterwards! So a feeding tube was used and then removed after three long years. He can eat but very very slowly cause he chokes soooo severly on everything! He can only swallow with his head tilted to the right also. His appetite still has never returned, so wanting to eat is almost gone! Is there anything that can help with this?
Avatar f tn If you have extreme hunger and are overeating during the day as well, and are concerned about your weight perhaps I would consider an eating disorder, but it sounds more medical or nutritional to me.

Avatar m tn Are they referring to people with active eating disorders who are in a compromised medical state and more prone to seizing, or will anyone who has ever had an eating disorder be denied this med? I am not asking for Wellbutrin because of the weight loss side effects- 100% honest!!- but instead for its apparent success rate. Finally, do I simply ask my doctor to prescribe it for me? Or would they have to recommend it?

Avatar f tn The facility also specialized in treating eating disorders. My rehab roomate struggled with anorexia and bulimia. I sure learned alot about eating disorders in that time. I'm so glad you are posting about this. It sounds like you are being swept up in a cross addiction. This is a serious addiction that does kill many young women and men. A few of the girls I met had heart attacks and now live with pacemakers.
1238036 tn?1457315447 I relate, eating disorders and emotions are very closely linked, in fact the underlying problem of eating disorders is emotional. Its sounds like when you feel bad you divert it to your body, something you can actively do something about ie not eat for instance. It can make you feel more in control of things when in reality youre not dealing with what upset you in the first place....
Avatar f tn Some options are to talk to your family doctor, seek a therapist (one experienced in eating disorders) and/or attend meetings of Overeater's Anonymous (OA). Don't let the name scare you away; it is for people with various types of eating disorders. Good luck to you. Just to let you know it's possible, I have been in recovery from my eating disorder for 15 years.
Avatar f tn / I always go a while where I'm really sick but then I start eating again. Never normal though but healthy enough to get through the days and usually get a small menstrual cycle still. I had my blood checked last week to see if anorexia was effecting me my levels were all fine right now I'm smoking marijuana once or twice a day basically medically but then I lose control and feel so hungry and binge 2,000 calories or more at once and feel so awful.
Avatar f tn s friend Emily sees me at my skinniest and suddenly starts to lose a noticeable amount of weight. Is this subconscious for Emily? I have done a lot of research on eating disorders and this issue is glossed over completely without fail. Does anyone in the healthcare industry have any info on this or opinion.....I am writing a book.

Avatar n tn Dear Marie, You mentioned nothing of an eating disorder or history of an eating disorder. In any event, you need to see your gynecologist and ask these questions. Seeing your gynecologist would best answer your questions. If you would like further information about eating disorders, visit the bella vita website.
877379 tn?1259664623 I am use to seeing the people who go into treatment facilities being very underweight. I am not underweight at all but I feel like I have lost control to my eating disorder. I am seeing a therapist but she is not trained in treating eating disorders (but I would not leave her because she is an amazing therapist). Does anyone think a treatment facility would be a good idea for me? I personally feel I am too fat to be in one and if I asked to be admitted to one, people would laugh in my face.
1479003 tn?1287429481 Ask your doctor for a referral to a therapist who works with eating disorders and start working on your issues. Since you suffer anxiety as well, the therapist may recommend some medication. You might also try going to meetings of OA, look in the phonebook under Overeater's Anonymous; it is for all kinds of eating disorders and there are meetings in all large towns. Best of luck to you, and good for you for recognizing you need help!
