579670 tn?1218213544 Hi, i am doing Food technology GCSE and my coursework is to design and make a range of products suitable for a diabetic that could be sold in the healthy eating section of a supermarket. Part of my research is to produce a diabetic questionnaire asking relevant questions which would help me with my coursework. Since i do not know anybody with diabetes it would be very helpful if anyone with diabetes could complete the questionnaire. Many Thanks x 1. What type of dish do you enjoy most?
Evillady I went the easy way. I just removed from my diet, anything "white". Rice, potatoes, pasta, products made with flour. I also took out peas, and many beans as well. I replaced them with cheese, olives, nuts, meats, and lots of eggs. At one time, I was consuming nearly 18 eggs per week. I've dialed that back to half that now. Eating "Paleo" works for me.

Avatar f tn Anyone know of any good websites with diabetic friendly recipes? My mom has diabetes and I'm trying to help her out with a few meals.
645800 tn?1466860955 Went to that same restaurant I did last week. Who ever comes up with the recipes for the place sure does think outside the box. Tonight I had a boneless pork chop dish and normally you would think of apples sauce as a side for it. But not this place. IT was a Cajun pork chop served with rice and sauteed peaches. The Cajun spices would have over powered apple, but not the peaches. And then add in the slight taste of nutmeg to add even a little more spark to it. Yummy.

Avatar f tn How do you guys calculate the amount calories in a homemade dish? For example my parents will sometimes cook a meal and I'm just lost to how many calories are in it. Also its not really possible to have my mom or whoever makes it record all ingredients and their caloric content. Any suggestions?
