Early period on birth control pill

Common Questions and Answers about Early period on birth control pill

period

Avatar f tn I'm on birth control and I started my period almost a week early, is this normal? I'm sexually active & I've been on birth control for about a year now and this has never happened.
Avatar f tn There's always a small risk of getting pregnant having unprotected sex while on birth control, and even more of a risk if your partner ejaculates inside of you. Putting this small risk aside to answer your question -- you will not get pregnant during the placebo pills if you have been taking your birth control continuously the entire month. There is a chance of pregnancy if you miss any of the white pills. You should take the one you missed with your second pill as soon as possible.
Avatar f tn I need to get on a birth control pill to help with period symptoms. If I go to the doctor will they make me get an exam? Even if they give it to me will I have to go back 3 months later? I'm not sexually active and don't plan on being.
Avatar m tn Because I have been on the same pills for a few years now and I am older, they put me on the higher dose of the birth control I am currently on. This change in my period has been gradual and I did switch my diet significantly in the past 2 months. My doctor was almost positive the problem was the lack of hormones, thus increasing them. But I am having an exam on Monday with my Gyno. Will keep posted!
Avatar m tn So I've been on birth control for about 3 or so months. I take the pill on a regular basis(sometimes a few hours early or late) And I honestly have a missed a couple but I always take them the next day, I am sexually active but he has been wearing a condom. I've never been late since I've been on birth control. Is there any way im pregnant, or am I late?
Avatar f tn I have not personally tried the patch. I believe it lasts for one week, so you use one a week for three weeks, and then have an off week. It's odd that a 21 day pill pack messed up your periods, since the usual effect is to make them super regular. Were you taking them at the same time every day? It's possible that that brand of birth control just wasn't right for you, and that's why it was screwy.
Avatar f tn Hi I just had my baby girl 2 weeks ago via emergency csection and was curious to when I could resume birth control my doctor has already gave me the new prescription so I can before my 6 week visit but curious to when.you ladies have? Thank you.
Avatar f tn I am on Trinessa birth control pills. I was wondering if I could use my birth control pills to start my period about a week early, only because my boy friend is coming home from the military the week that I am supposed to start my period and I don't really want this to happen. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn If I take my birth control pill close to the date of when my next period supposed to start will it delay my period ?
Avatar n tn I took the 1st Gedarel 30 pill on the 2nd day of my period (but it was my 2nd birth control pill in that cycle as I had taken micgrogynon the night before as above) . I have taken gedarel 30 regularly since then at 10pm everyday.
Avatar n tn I just started taking my birth control pills and i am on the "sugar" pills now. I havent started my period yet do i still keep taking the pills??
Avatar n tn I tried to delay my period with birth control after I had already been on it for a couple months. Didn't work at all - I ended up having my period for the entire month including the time I wanted it to be gone. Don't take birth control if you're pregnant!!
1181036 tn?1367368640 ve originally started the new pack (sorry if confusing). To sum it up I went about 4 days with no birth control until I started the new pack on Sunday, only problem is I forgot to run to the Pharmacy to pick it up so didn't take it til Monday night (and late at that). Did good for rest of week until Saturday I missed because out w/family and pills at home (stupid, I know). So I was about 4 days late starting and missed 2 pills in 1st active week.
Avatar n tn The first birth control pill I was on, my periods were regular at the same time every month. I never missed a period. My doctor switched my pill and I didn't have a period for 3 months. When I went back to the doctor they said that maybe the new pill was too strong for me, and they switched it again. I had a period for the first two months on this third pill and now I have stopped getting my period again. I took three pregnancy tests and they have all came up negative.
Avatar f tn I was on the pill for about 8 years. Took it religiously. I ended up pregnant with my first (born May 2014) started taking bc again afterwards and I was breastfeeding. I ended up pregnant again. (Now 16 weeks) let me say, I too have only one ovary and the other is tact. Doctors dont have a clue. They say my husband has power swimmers.
Avatar n tn He is going to be back a month from now, and I need to get on the birth control but going off of it in the first place has messed my system up. Would it be okay for me to just start taking the pill anyways? It says to start on the sunday of or the 5 day after your period, but I feel as though if I'm going to be sexually active I should be on it.... is it safe to take the pill before my period?
192270 tn?1216261777 As you will see below my period comes every month, but twice every other month. I have never experience this on other birth control pills (period were once a month) 2/5 to 2/10 3/2 to 3/5 3/9 to 3/12 4/6 to 4/9 5/5 to 5/8 5/24 to 5/28 6/1 to 6/6 7/1 to 7/6 My concern is I had unprotected sex with boyfriend yesterday and this morning I had a lot of discharge, not smelly, yet thick and stretchy. We always have unprotected sex, he loves cumming inside.
5047208 tn?1366038174 Well im not sure but when i was on birth control it never did it to me..but since we all have different bodies it can delay it, come early, or sometimes not come.

Avatar f tn i have been on the pill, just had my period july 2nd. It was a regular period, as always, but then i stopped taking the pill for 3 weeks. I am back on the pill and have been for 2 weeks. I have not yet started my period, and always have one every month. I have had all the signs of starting, cramps and all but no period, and have taken 2 pregnancy tests that were negative.
Avatar n tn i am on the birth control pill and skipped my last period. a week before i came to the next section of inactive tablets my period started which i thought was normal considering i skipped my last, but now i have been having cramps ever since aswell as bleeding and it is still going strong. im really worried and the pain is quite intense at times. it has now been the rest of that week plus 3 days of inactive tablets, im wondering what does this mean? what is going to happen?
1533382 tn?1357962152 I just had my second daughter in sept, and I go in the morning on Monday for my 6 week exam to get released back to work and get back on birth control. I don't want anymore kids but my doctor and basically all the drs at the hospital in my city won't tie your tubes when your my age because they say you're too young and the reversal can cause more problems should you choose to have more later (I'm 23 btw).
Avatar f tn So I have the 28 day pack of the pill.. I started it two Sundays after my period because I had forgotten. My period was regulate from it. But this time I got my period while I was still taking the pill, and it was almost over. Then I finished the pack and my period became heavy again. So I've had my period for 8 days. Would this have to do with starting the pack late?
Avatar f tn I got pregnant while on birth control... It's not always 100% effective, nothing is 100% effective except abstinence but I know that could be hard sometimes.
Avatar f tn I was on depo before and hated it. The mini and the regular birth control pill were pretty good just a lot of nausea in the beginning but it eventually goes away.
Avatar m tn Usually it takes me three to four days after finishing the last active pill to begin my period. Hopefully the sex was protected. Depending which pill she is on, back-up birth control is necessary the first month. Sometimes it is less, depending again on the pill.
1123945 tn?1259615216 I just went through IVF, they put you on the pill to regulate you so you are on a cycle they can control...at least that is what I gathered from it - I was on it for five weeks (with no period between doses) - they want all your eggs compressed as much as possible.
Avatar m tn Thanks for the reply really helped me out, I did miss one pill at the start of my second pill. I am on my sugar pills now and it seems I still have my period. Is the normal? Thanks again for the info!
Avatar f tn hey everyone, i have a question i just switched from the depo shot to the pill. i received the shot the day after i had my daughter april 1 2013, and three months later i switched to the pill. i took the pill on a tuesday three or four days before i had too. so that i wouldnt have a break in birth control. im on the placebo part of the pack i actually have four days left and haven't received my period. meaning i have four days til i take a new pack. im a tuesday start, if that makes sense.
