564735 tn?1263943526 I was just wondering if anyone has used duragesic pain patches. My oncologist is recommending I use these patches from ongoing pain from tumors. I am a little nervous about using the patches but I am also over the pain. The pain has restricted my lifestyle. Going to go the grocery store or running errands has become difficult and I am no longer able to go to the gym. Has anyone had problems with these patches? If you used the patches, how long did you use them?
Avatar n tn Also recently there was a recall on the fentanyl patch for releasing too much of the med too quickly and causing breathing problems among other things.

Avatar n tn Using damaged or cut DURAGESIC® patches can lead to the rapid release of the contents of the DURAGESIC® patch and absorption of a potentially fatal dose of fentanyl. I once walked in a room as a nurse, found a patient who had taken off his patch and chewed it...he coded and died...there is alot of medication concentrated in the patch to be released over a 24 hour period...not all at once...if you cut them you would have no way of knowing the amount your wife would be absorbing..
Avatar m tn m new on here I just switched from fentanyl to methadone and I was wondering which generic was the best, when it came to my fentanyl Duragesic was far and away the best, just trying to get the biggest bang for my buck
Avatar f tn I've been on the Duragesic 100 for almost 18 years. I've had 3 cervical fusions & 1 lumbar laminectomy. The Duragesic 100 has controlled my constant, chronic pain & while I've never been pain free, the Duragesic certainty helped. However in the last 2 months, its as if the patches are no longer working. I've always had additional breakthrough meds, but now its as if I'm going through withdrawals.
233616 tn?1312787196 The Procrit recall involves approximately 44,292 vials of lot P114942A distributed between April 15, 2008 and July 17, 2008.
5190613 tn?1364918188 I am a 53 year old female who has lived with horrible back pain since about 2008. I had an MRI back in 2008 that showed some stenosis, but I cannot remember the rest of the information. The pain has progressed to the point that I have to wear a 100 mcg. Duragesic fentanyl patch and take breakthrough oral medication just to have some sort of quality of life. My pain management doctor saw the findings of the MRI and the first words out of his mouth were that I needed surgery.
268356 tn?1236002604 Fri, Sep 19, 2008 (BabyCenter News) — Simplicity has announced a recall of about 600,000 drop-side cribs in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). Due to sizing problems with the crib's hardware, the drop side — the side of the crib that lowers — can come off the tracks, creating a hazardous gap. If this happens, a child could get caught in the gap and suffocate.

Avatar m tn I have chronic pain from Tarlov Disease and Interstial Cystitis. My pain has been well managed for 2 1/2 years using tramadol (ultram) for maintenance and lortab for break through pain. I have developed chronic kidney disease and my doctors are pushing me to get some exercise. I have found that with every exercise form I have tried I quickly get beyond the pain control offered bu tramadol and lortab so i can't exercise.
Avatar n tn I have been on the Duragesic Patch 74 mcg for about 3 1/2 years. During the last 6 months, I have become extremely depressed. I notice that it is worse after the second day any given patch is on. I have been treated for the depression with different antidepressants and so far have not found one that works. I am so desperate for help as the depression has taken over my life. Has anyone out there experienced this? Any input would be appreciated. I feel as though I am running out of time.
Avatar f tn m not a doctor), but I would think that if you are on duragesic (the most powerful painkiller on the planet), you don't have to take the solpadeine, and, if the amitriptyline is just to help you sleep, you probably don't need it, either, if you find the duragesic to be sedating. And in fact, you might not need the lyrica. Of course, that's assuming you are getting them all from one doctor. If you have more than one doctor, make sure they *all* know what you are taking.
Avatar m tn there had me on a medication called Temgesic. When I came back to usa I went on Duragesic Patch after a year or so.. I think this Temgesic is the detox meds you guys are talking about. I have a old box here and they were 2mg sublingal. Its buprenorfina (sp).. Brand as I say was Temgesic. Its a great medication for pain and I can never remember having the side effect of it that I have with this patch. I can't wait for the day I have none of this medication in my body.
Avatar m tn Hi, I have this question because recently I need to take a blood test and I haven't done that for more than 12 years. I always had protected sex but I didn't have an partner after 2008. Back in 2007, or 2008, I fingered my partner and I don't remember if I had any cuts or not. I don't recall to have any flu or swollen lymph after that and I have been completely normal since.
Avatar f tn I have been in pain management since December 2008, the injections and pain meds helped me put off back surgery off until September 2009, ( I was able to give my Mom the care she deserved until she passed on March 13, 2009) my fusion was between L1 and L2, so a year recovery, well pain relief really never did come, some ways got worse.
