Avatar n tn What is the generic name, chemical name, classification and contraindications for Lyvoxil?
Avatar f tn I am in the pharmacy program that pays for my patched until i get my DSS and I cannot find the brandname anywhere due to the new DEA guidelines on sched 2 narcotics. Any ideas? none of the pharmacies in my county or surrounding counties have the name brand and I can't afford to buy my own generic right now.Does anyone know of a generic equivalent patch that the drug company will give me for free?
Avatar n tn I am using Alvogen 100 mcg patch x 4 (400 mcg total) every 48 hrs. I just switched from Duragesic brand name (I was getting these through Johnson & Johnson PAP now defunct as of 05/2020)to these this week. I noticed my kidneys were hurting right away. Has anyone had something similar happen?
Avatar n tn The most common anti-inflammatories (NSAIDS - Non-Steroidal Anti-INflammatory) are Motrin (Generic = Ibuprofen) or Aleve (Generic = Naproxen or Naproxen Sodium). I agree - use only one of these. If you use Aleve be careful if you are on Neurontin because is a small amount of cases Aleve will interact with Neurontin and cause a 12 - 15% increase in the absorption of the Neurontin (I know this from first hand experience).
374225 tn?1269899262 There are two types of generic Fentanyl and at least one of you claims that one is superior to the other. Which one is the better of the two? My doctor is probably going to let me try the patches over the methadone and I just want to be sure. It amazes me how much knowledge we all have accumulated and outside of these boards so much of it is wasted. I'm so glad this place exists and I found it.
Avatar n tn My 16 yr old son had a stent placed via catherter in his descending aorta to fix a coartation (restriction). He has also been diagnosed with a "mildly" dilated ascending aorta and bicuspid aortic valve (with a "trivial" gradient). One month after the stent procedure, he had a cardiac and head MRI which found nothing unusual. We await a stress test which will occur ~3 months out from the procedure, which we hope will allow him to return to competitive baseball.
Avatar f tn 80% chance that I will be worse off with more surgery. Followed protocol at PM clinic, graduated to Duragesic patches 100 and 25 mcg for TWO years/they are no longer working ( took them every 72 hrs until 1 month ago when dr. switched me to every 48 hrs.) Director of pain clinic (NOT my PM dr.
Avatar m tn Oh no I take it for chronic pain almost losty leg 6 surgeries if meant which was the cheapest haven't had a drink or drug other than what's presides in 8 years I take it very seriously methadone is a great pain killer and the safest thing for someone who has addiction in their past/present and future compared to all the others I'm in counseling still, have a pain contract still on physical therapy a year later I almost died, and I'm alive and have my leg and I take addiction very
1134609 tn?1269272200 It has been an interesting process, but I think I have finally figured out the medication issues. Here's the lay of the land: 1. I have always been sensitive to medications; they either work for me or the SEs are unbearable. 2. I have never had any luck when I have been placed on the generic brands of medications. Celexa especially; I was on it for 10 years, tried the generic several times and paid for it. 3. I have also been on Neurontin for the past 10 years.
1437229 tn?1296070020 I am so glad you got your Duragesic patch back! I have been on the generic for a long time now and it really helps. I never did get the real thing, but I have found that there is a huge difference in strength between different generic brands, and even from batch to batch within the same brand. Some months I have very little pain and no break through pain and then the next month wham, it only works a little and the pain is hard to bear.
Avatar f tn what is a generic drug?
Avatar n tn I had been on generic Levothyroxine for a while, went from 25 mil to 50 then 75, then 100's This all prescribed by a GP that even stated my Thyroid was not enlarged, I started to tell him that the Society of Endocrinology had set new standards for the THS, from what they deemed normal around 5.0 was now 3.
822153 tn?1333062995 s exactly what my Psychiatrist does. For example he has me on generic Lamictal and says that I were on the name brand Lamictal that he would only have me taking 150Mgs a day, but since I am on the Generic he moves it to 200Mgs a day. In your case you also need to look at how long you have been taking Prozac (fluxotine) because after many years of usage Prozac can lose it effectivness as the result of resistance built up by your body.
Avatar f tn Yes it's totally legal. If you want more information there's a guy on the internet who outlines the process, whether you travel abroad or order online. He actually wrote a book and started a blog on it. He also started a buyer's club but no need to go that route. His name is Greg Jefferys, google his name for more information.
Avatar m tn See I had no problem coming off duragesic. I was on 150 patch and I tapered off completely in one month with hardly any w/d symtpoms. My doc did a slow taper od I think 25 mcg every 6 days. Also the clonidine patch made a HUGE difference in helping to wean. No jitters, it was great. Also, he gave me 20 5 mg oxycodones to help if I did feel w/d's. I seriously had no problem whatsoever. Now, I have to take Oxycodone for my disease and I'm trying to wean down and it SUCKS!!!
Avatar f tn I forget what brand I was on initially but I didn't care for it. The patch itself was quite large and very noticeable. It also wouldn't stay flat and would buckle and peel back at the edges. At times, they'd fall off. The glue was nearly impossible to get off my skin and WAS impossible to get off my clothes. A member here mentioned the Duragesic patch and I asked for that. What a difference! I have had no problems with it at all.
Avatar f tn I have found that any of the brand names and the generic can make arrythmias worse. I have been on generic, Synthroid and Levoxyl at one time or another, and they all cause increased episodes of tachycardia. In my case, I think it's the actual medicine in the pills that causes the tachy, not the fillers. I'm also on a beta blocker to control the tachy. My guess is that it's your increase that has caused the PVCs, not the generic versus Synthroid.
Avatar n tn Yes, I know that Toprol XL is the brand name extended release version of metoprolol. However, there is a generic equivalent called metoprolol er, which I assume his doctor gave him. I have read many posts on this forum where users indicate that switching from Toprol XL to metoprolol er still report having problems. The generics are not always as good as the brand name ones.
538782 tn?1213809348 On brand name clomid I would produce two good follies and when I went to generic I produced one. So it was either the generic that did it, or my body getting used to the clomid (had been on it for 7 months then switched to generic the 8th month).
