I HAVE BEEN ON DURAGESIC FOR 6 YEARS, I WAS AT 100 4 MONTHS AGO THEN DRPPED IT TO 75 AND NOW AFTER 3-4 MONTHS I AM ON 50MCH PATCH... I CAN'T WAIT TO GET OFF THIS POISON.. ITS BEEN A 6 YEAR NIGHTMARE AND I AM DOING EVERYTHING I CAN TO MAKE IT END.. HAVE A HIP PROBLEM AND USED IT TO BUY MORE TIME UNTIL TOTAL REPLACEMENT.. THIS PATCH HAS BECOME MY WORSE DISABILITY.. ANYONE KNOW OF A DETOX OR WEAN OFF DRUG FOM HERE.. THE DROP ON THESE PATCHES ARE HORRIBLE..

t afford to buy my own generic right now.Does anyone know of a generic equivalent patch that the drug company will give me for free?

There are so many drug assistance programs out there for us in the US who are not on medicare/medicaid or live in Massachussetts. I'm thinking it might be helpful to start a thread of some of these so everyone is taking full advantage of the drug companies' generosity. Ok, you know I'm being facetious with that comment - they want us to take their drug and are bribing us to do so by helping with the copay.

Fentanyl, or one brand name of Duragesic, is quite close to the street drug heroin as far as this is concerned. It is very hard to come off of because a patch, as you know, is designed to last roughly 72 hours, and then it stays in your system after removal for about 12 hours or so. I had a hell of a time, for sure. I am now, at 12:14 a.m., 40 days off. I swore I would not live through the w/d, and stared at a .45 readily available to me during part of that time.

there had me on a medication called Temgesic. When I came back to usa I went on Duragesic Patch after a year or so.. I think this Temgesic is the detox meds you guys are talking about. I have a old box here and they were 2mg sublingal. Its buprenorfina (sp).. Brand as I say was Temgesic. Its a great medication for pain and I can never remember having the side effect of it that I have with this patch. I can't wait for the day I have none of this medication in my body.

I have chronic pain from Tarlov Disease and Interstial Cystitis. My pain has been well managed for 2 1/2 years using tramadol (ultram) for maintenance and lortab for break through pain. I have developed chronic kidney disease and my doctors are pushing me to get some exercise. I have found that with every exercise form I have tried I quickly get beyond the pain control offered bu tramadol and lortab so i can't exercise.

Does anyone have longterm experience on the Duragesic Patch? I'd like to speak with any long time users.

My pain specialist has me taking Duragesic 75 mcq for pain and temezapam for what little sleep I sometimes get.I have been on this same drug regiman since2002.I dont seem to grt near the releif I achived in 02.I am still on worker comp,but have been fired from my job of 30yrs due to the restrictions the doctor placed on me.Now I have been informed that the medicare setaside fund is suggesting I be dropped from the Duragesic and placed on Ultram for pain and meletonin for sleep.

my dr would drug test me and give me a script+ a refill, he done tht for 2 years...now all of a sudden when he drug test me; he will give me my scripts but no refill, bc he drug teste d me..tht seems odd...any advice as to why he wiuld change within a month...its like hes finding ways to get me in there every month now....i need serious abswers.

I once walked in a room as a nurse, found a patient who had taken off his patch and chewed it...he coded and died...there is alot of medication concentrated in the patch to be released over a 24 hour period...not all at once...if you cut them you would have no way of knowing the amount your wife would be absorbing..

I've been on the Duragesic 100 for almost 18 years. I've had 3 cervical fusions & 1 lumbar laminectomy. The Duragesic 100 has controlled my constant, chronic pain & while I've never been pain free, the Duragesic certainty helped. However in the last 2 months, its as if the patches are no longer working. I've always had additional breakthrough meds, but now its as if I'm going through withdrawals.

Sorry to hear that, did you take a recent drug test? didhe give you a reason as to why? Most Dr's will give you a 30 day supply if they chose to discharge you for no reason.

Hey, is it possible to collect the fumes using some fan and duct system and bubble it through water , thus allowing the fumes to dissolve in water and then send the water sample for drug test? What I would suspect is, if you do not take any drug yourselves,could some one else be drugging you with out your knowledge?, take care.

At least its not heroin but you should have tapered and then he runs a secret drug test on me. Am I just being oversensitive or is this inappropriate behavior from a doctor? I don't want to have to reestablish care with a new ob because I'm so far along but I feel uncomfortable in the office.

depends on how many and how long you've been taking it.......lots of water exercise, metabolism are all factors........stays in the system for a few days......a good week and you should be fine......I hope. When is your test and how many and how long? Nauty............
