Avatar m tn First thing to note, Unfortunately smoking does affects the amount of duloxetine in your system and blood stream meaning that you will loose between 40 - 50% of the duloxetine dose you take. It is not uncommon for people to have their duloxetine prescription increased if they smoke.
Avatar m tn I actually prefer Zoloft, but for me, the first couple of weeks I experienced an actual increase in anxiety and felt really jittery. Remember, SSRIs like Zoloft can take a good couple of weeks before you start to feel the benefit of them. As far as the Ativan, in my opinion, many doctors will prescribe a benzo like this especially when starting a med like Zoloft.

Avatar n tn I would not have recommend you to go onto duloxetine, in some, duloxetine can cause kidney and liver problems, drinking alcohol while taking this drug will unfortunately increase that risk and even more so with someone with your condition.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone! Hopefully someone may be able to provide some insight/direction. I'm a 27 y/o F with weird symptoms that have led to 5 ER visits and 2 admissions since March 6. My symptoms have been nearly constant, but they definitely fluctuate in severity. At my worst, I was convinced I had a PE, or even a pheo, but obviously those have both been ruled out.
Avatar f tn There are medications that can help alleviate the burning/pain. One of the main ones is Duloxetine, which is a generic for Cymbalta. I take that for my neuropathy… It helps considerably, but doesn’t eliminate the pain. If you look it up, Cymbalta (Duloxetine) is listed as an anti-depressant, but it’s used “off label” quite often for pain. Check with your doctor and see if that might be possibility for you.
Avatar m tn I need answers!, i swallowed 56 x 10mg oxycontin, 56 x 20mg oxycontin, 84 x 30mg clonazepam, and roughly 60 x 30mg duloxetine, this was on aug 13th 2010.....i'm still here...wtf !....how can my body deal with such a high amount of drugs......my doc seems to think they stuck in my gullet and did not get absorbed........this is an insult to my intelligence !.......can you please provide answers please.
Avatar f tn The only thing I have found in the literature so far that I can try is combining Gabapentin with Duloxetine. I did take Duloxetine previously for pain (adjunct to the Celebrex) and it did help, but my GP is skeptical that Gabapentin would help even if combined with Duloxetine. Does anyone else have Osteoarthritis and is unable to take NSAIDS and have you found a medication that works? Thanks in advance for your replies.
Avatar f tn I think my anxiety attacks are pretty much under control since I take the duloxetine, and I really think with me taking Duloxetine and me completely stopping the vyvanse was why I didn't have a harder time coming off the medication.
Avatar m tn I am a 47 year old male. For 8 years I have been getting a number of symptoms that have grown both in number and severity. I get an extremely sharp pain shooting down my left arm from the armpit to the end of my thumb and forefinger which could last up to about 10 secs (I call it the stinger) I still get this but less frequently. To this day, I have an increasing number of all sorts of shooting, stabbing, gnawing & aching pains all over my body along with stiff painful joints.
Avatar f tn Without the ability to examine and obtain a history, I can not tell you what the exact cause of the symptoms is. However I will try to provide you with some useful information. Cymbalta (i.e., duloxetine) has a combination mechanism of action involving serotonin and norepinephrine making it useful in depression and also neuropathic pain. When a peripheral nerve is injured there is an increase in pain sensitive fibers leading to increase pain recognition. This causes a change in central (i.
Avatar m tn My question is that for the past 3 or so years I have been taking Cymbalta for Fibro....which has been helpful. Then last year I started getting weird symptoms...My heart was racing, I felt like I the room was closing in on me, sweats, and gained about 30 lbs in the last yr. I thought maybe my dosage was off on the Cymbalta so my doctor increased it which I stopped as soon as I started...I felt it was not that.
Avatar f tn Post spinal cord surgery symptoms are not easy to treat. A combination of PREGABALIN with DULOXETINE are effective in the last months of my personal trials in Lebanon the country of practice. I use it in such cases where typical classical treatment are no more effective.

910342 tn?1242748243 This seems even worse at nite, I constantly have roll side to side to ease the pain, and laying on my stomach is a death wish. Other symptoms are extreme fatigue, I feel exausted with the smallest of tasks. I also have massive heartburn and have had loose bowels for about 2yrs.Been taking prolosec repeatedly. My ankles kill after extended periods of time on my feet. Also it seems weird that my stomach is so hard when it appears I am about 20lbs overweight..shouldn't that fat be soft?
Avatar f tn Duloxetine normally has the other effect of actually switching off the hunger levels in the body unlike sertaline so you should be fine
Avatar n tn , Symptom onset is usually rapid, often occurring within minutes after self-poisoning or a change in medication. Serotonin syndrome encompasses a wide range of clinical findings. Mild symptoms may only consist of tachycardia, shivering, diaphoresis (sweating), mydriasis (dilated pupils), myoclonus (intermittent tremor or twitching), as well as overresponsive reflexes.
1245842 tn?1287830051 Hi Everybody, I was wonderin if anyone else with Fibromyalgia was like me and was in horrific pain constantly without NO BREAKS from Head to Toes(Everywhere)?.
Avatar f tn I just ordered more Cymbalta from Canada who in turn orders it from India. I always get the generic duloxetine from them but this time I also got duvanta.
Avatar f tn Talk to your doctor before using FLUoxetine together with DULoxetine. Combining these medications can increase the risk of a rare but serious condition called the serotonin syndrome, which may include symptoms such as confusion, hallucination, seizure, extreme changes in blood pressure, increased heart rate, fever, excessive sweating, shivering or shaking, blurred vision, muscle spasm or stiffness, tremor, incoordination, stomach cramp, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
Avatar f tn s hard to imagine that anxiety could cause such real physical symptoms, but it absolutely can and does. I suspect a good bit of your symptoms are anxiety related, and the good news there is, once you start addressing the anxiety, the symptoms will start to improve. Hang in there!!
