Avatar m tn Duloxetine failed the US approval for stress urinary incontinence amidst the concerns about liver toxicity and suicidal events; however, it was approved for this indication in Europe and Canada. Duloxetine alleviates pain associated with diabetic neuropathy and fibromyalgia; however, its efficacy relative to the established treatments, such as anticonvulsants and tricyclic antidepressants, has not been established.

Avatar f tn I think my anxiety attacks are pretty much under control since I take the duloxetine, and I really think with me taking Duloxetine and me completely stopping the vyvanse was why I didn't have a harder time coming off the medication.
Avatar n tn I always recommend being on duloxetine for a solid 12 months at the right dose for you before you even consider reducing or think about coming off the drug, kind regards
5055866 tn?1362951481 Unfortunately smoking does affects the amount of duloxetine in your system and blood stream meaning that you will loose between 40 - 50% of the duloxetine dose you take. It is not uncommon for people to have their duloxetine prescription increased if they smoke. Unfortunately it is not uncommon if you miss a dose to be experiencing these problems if your on a high dose, my patients even at a dose of 30mg do experience brain zaps, nausea and vomiting even with just one day missed.

Avatar m tn I think i have UTI and stress incontinence. I have seen a doctor and was prescribed citralka syrup (2-3 times daily) and some tablets (2-3 times daily) for 10 days. Would this be enough to cure these problems?
Avatar n tn My view is that I have always had a psychological stress which I have held for years in my bladder. It is related to childhood trauma. The stress is putting my destrusor muscle into spasm and it doesn't empty properly. Since I have strong urine flow I don't believe that the bladder not emptying is due to the prostrate restriction of the urethra. Does this make any sense to you and what do you recommend I do from here?
Avatar f tn Neither a stent nor a ureteroscopy should cause stress incontinence. It has been at least six months so I would suggest seeing a urologist or gynecologist for further evaluation and consideration of a sling, which is a surgical procedure to correct stress incontinence.
5509293 tn?1428531475 If the muscles that keep your bladder closed are weak, you may have accidents when you sneeze, laugh or lift a heavy object. This is stress incontinence. If bladder muscles become too active, you may feel a strong urge to go to the bathroom when you have little urine in your bladder. This is urge incontinence or overactive bladder. There are other causes of incontinence, such as nerve damage and for this your neurologist may getting brain MRI’s done.

Avatar n tn I would not have recommend you to go onto duloxetine, in some, duloxetine can cause kidney and liver problems, drinking alcohol while taking this drug will unfortunately increase that risk and even more so with someone with your condition.
Avatar n tn Hi! To answer your question--yes, yes, and yes! It's also very weird when you only have half of the area down there with feeling and half without. Yes, it can and does happen in MS according to my neuro. He had another patient with the same symptom (numbness). As far as the stress incontinence goes . . . I have had babies before (and one was almost 9 pounds), so in the past I contributed the incontinance to stress incontinence because that is what my GYN said it was.
Avatar f tn Hi, I was just diagnosed with stress incontinence a few weeks ago. The incontinence started right after I had low back surgery for high-grade spondylolisthesis. The urologist thought it was from the nerves in my low back and is sending me back to my neurosurgeon. But I don't see how having surgery a year ago and then having incontinence 6 months after surgery can happen. I was not sure if it's possible that this is a separate issue then my back or not.
Avatar f tn One of the main ones is Duloxetine, which is a generic for Cymbalta. I take that for my neuropathy… It helps considerably, but doesn’t eliminate the pain. If you look it up, Cymbalta (Duloxetine) is listed as an anti-depressant, but it’s used “off label” quite often for pain. Check with your doctor and see if that might be possibility for you.
Avatar f tn I have been taking Celebrex (200 mg a day) for about five years for bone on bone knee osteoarthritis. It has worked well for controlling my pain (not perfect but pretty good). I also get some lower back pain (combination of osteoarthritis and nerve stuff) that only happens when I over-do (like trying to garden, etc.). I typically need a day or two of Vicodin for that as the Celebrex does not seem to work for that.
Avatar m tn My question is that for the past 3 or so years I have been taking Cymbalta for Fibro....which has been helpful. Then last year I started getting weird symptoms...My heart was racing, I felt like I the room was closing in on me, sweats, and gained about 30 lbs in the last yr. I thought maybe my dosage was off on the Cymbalta so my doctor increased it which I stopped as soon as I started...I felt it was not that.
