Avatar f tn Why not ask a doctor on the Doctor's Forum on Medhelp? They are more knowledgeable than us laypeople. I have dysthymia, which is a low level depression. I don't know if that's the same things a melancholic depression. As I said, I would go on Medhelp's Doctor Forum, and ask a doctor under the heading of mental health. Good luck.
Avatar m tn Definitely you should get professional help. This sounds like pretty severe (melancholic) depression, which is a severe medical condition that requires expert treatment but which can be expected to completely resolve itself if you get that treatment.

Avatar f tn Cymbalta is for depression (mild to severe) anxiety and other conditions. Why were you put on it? I think you need to take a step back for one second and think about what do you want. Are you depressed? Do you want another child? Is cymbalta working for you? Put it all together for yourself. Why are you scared to talk to the DR? Is it because you want another child? or do you fear that you will be blamned for not being able to have another child?
962875 tn?1314210036 As many of you know or have experienced, the AIs ( Arimidex, Femara, Aromasin), which are used to treat hormone-receptor positve breast cancer, often produce joint or muscle pain as a side effect. For about 20% of women, the side effects are so severe that they stop taking their medicine, which increases the risk that their breast cancer will recur.
905463 tn?1243526062 I do take antidepressants for my depression and PTS. I take Duloxetine 2xd. I am on muscle relaxers as well. I went to my neurologist and he said that he thinks my spinal cord is tethered again and that I have to have a leg nerve test done. I have no clue what that is. He said it has to do with glue and needles. Thank you so much for responding!
Avatar m tn First thing to note, Unfortunately smoking does affects the amount of duloxetine in your system and blood stream meaning that you will loose between 40 - 50% of the duloxetine dose you take. It is not uncommon for people to have their duloxetine prescription increased if they smoke.

410475 tn?1262942367 i was on effexor for depression and bi-polar, for about 4 yrs. the first two were great. but, as with any drug, your tolerance builds up after awhile and you need your dose adjusted. my doctor had me on 300mg a day for a longtime. i believe that i was too medicated,( because he had me on wellbutrin also.) the only thing that i have bad to say about being on it, was the withdrawl from coming off of it. i was physically ill for a few weeks.
480448 tn?1426948538 One thing i can tell you is that whith Cymbalta, healthy diet and exercise my anxiety and depression is gone. Not that effective for the occipital neuralgia tho. When i started it i had the common nausea side-effect and it was gone after 1 week. Then after taking it for a month i stopped it cold turkey to see what happens ( yeah I'm a tester lol ) and i had no withdrawal effects but after 1.
Avatar f tn I have been taking Celebrex (200 mg a day) for about five years for bone on bone knee osteoarthritis. It has worked well for controlling my pain (not perfect but pretty good). I also get some lower back pain (combination of osteoarthritis and nerve stuff) that only happens when I over-do (like trying to garden, etc.). I typically need a day or two of Vicodin for that as the Celebrex does not seem to work for that.

Avatar f tn I think my anxiety attacks are pretty much under control since I take the duloxetine, and I really think with me taking Duloxetine and me completely stopping the vyvanse was why I didn't have a harder time coming off the medication.
Avatar f tn I have been taking Prozac at 20 mg for about a month. It seemed to help my depression pretty fast within a couple days, now it has been over a month and now I am starting to feel depression again. I thought these type of medications the person was suppose to improve in about a month? My depression is more mild, I don't have extreme agitation or irritability like I did, I just have this apathetic feeling were I don't want to get out of bed. I feel kind of slow like I am in a fog.
Avatar f tn m also taking Celebrex as needed Duloxetine 60 mg at night and Tizanidine 4mg twice a day, as needed, Xanax as needed. In the last month i started experiencing severe depression, insomnia, memory issues, mind fog and libido issues. My orthopedic specialist tried switching me to Lyrica for 3 months back in 2014 with horrible immediate side effects. Switched back to Gabapentin. I am asking if there is another neuropathic pain medication to use as an alternative to Gabapentin.
Avatar f tn I just downloaded the chart suggested of all ADHD meds, helpful but not specific enough. Thanks.
Avatar n tn I always recommend being on duloxetine for a solid 12 months at the right dose for you before you even consider reducing or think about coming off the drug, kind regards

It is not uncommon for people to have their duloxetine prescription increased if they smoke. Unfortunately it is not uncommon if you miss a dose to be experiencing these problems if your on a high dose, my patients even at a dose of 30mg do experience brain zaps, nausea and vomiting even with just one day missed.
Avatar m tn I actually prefer Zoloft, but for me, the first couple of weeks I experienced an actual increase in anxiety and felt really jittery. Remember, SSRIs like Zoloft can take a good couple of weeks before you start to feel the benefit of them. As far as the Ativan, in my opinion, many doctors will prescribe a benzo like this especially when starting a med like Zoloft.
Avatar m tn Benzodiazepines can definitely cause a secondary depression in people, now whether your depression is related would be impossible for anyone to say. I just think your doc is going about things a little atypically. Any symptom that inivolves a fever should be more thoroughly investigated. Same goes for a new onset of pain. Sounds like both docs were quick to atrtribute everything to depression and/or your mental/emotional history.
