Avatar n tn First thing to note, Unfortunately smoking does affects the amount of duloxetine in your system and blood stream meaning that you will loose between 40 - 50% of the duloxetine dose you take. It is not uncommon for people to have their duloxetine prescription increased if they smoke.

Unfortunately it is not uncommon if you miss a dose to be experiencing these problems if your on a high dose, my patients even at a dose of 30mg do experience brain zaps, nausea and vomiting even with just one day missed.

Avatar n tn I would not have recommend you to go onto duloxetine, in some, duloxetine can cause kidney and liver problems, drinking alcohol while taking this drug will unfortunately increase that risk and even more so with someone with your condition.
Avatar n tn I took Buspirone together with Paxil for a long time. I'm certainly not a doctor but when I stopped taking them both, the Paxil I had to wean off of because it's an SSRI but the Buspirone I just stopped and didn't have any problems. BUT, I would definitely consult with your doctor first to see what he/she recommends because everyone is different and certain medications you cannot just stop cold turkey. Good luck!! I put some sites below regarding the medication...hope it helps.
Avatar f tn The only thing I have found in the literature so far that I can try is combining Gabapentin with Duloxetine. I did take Duloxetine previously for pain (adjunct to the Celebrex) and it did help, but my GP is skeptical that Gabapentin would help even if combined with Duloxetine. Does anyone else have Osteoarthritis and is unable to take NSAIDS and have you found a medication that works? Thanks in advance for your replies.
Avatar f tn I think my anxiety attacks are pretty much under control since I take the duloxetine, and I really think with me taking Duloxetine and me completely stopping the vyvanse was why I didn't have a harder time coming off the medication.
573569 tn?1278629655 ok the doctor took me off of paxil because of some bad experiences, now he gave me buspirone 10mg once a day. im just wondering if anyone have ever took this, and how did it help. im now afraid of meds, due to the bad experience with the paxil, so if anyone can tell me about this med i would feel alot better. i know some of you will say just try it, but i realy dont want what happen before to happen again.
Avatar f tn i suffer from severe anxiety and panic attacks lately i would say the past few months and its just getting worse and worse.. my dr. gave me buspirone its a low dose and really not doing much for me. i wanted to know if anyone else has taken this and if its helping.
Avatar f tn does buspirone make anyone else feel high when it first kicks in?
1187044 tn?1295362044 I'm currently on buspirone for anxiety, and all it seems to do is make me extra nervous and jumpy, i feel weak, restless, and my anxiety is still here. Sometimes I get over excited too and cant stop laughing at something that isnt even that funny. I'm not really a fan of this medication so far and am thinking of going back on celexa because i also have ocd and depression too.
6861995 tn?1385501475 I went to go see the doctor 4 weeks ago for my anxiety, and she prescribed me buspirone (7.5mg 2x a day). I felt a difference in how I was feeling a couple weeks ago. I don't feel like my anxiety is gone though... but I do feel happier. My social anxiety is still through the roof, and all the physical symptoms of my anxiety are still occurring. So I'm just not really if the prescription is doing anything? Or if it's the SJW that's making me feel happier?
Avatar m tn t work for you after giving it a month to take effect try a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRI) like Duloxetine (Cymbalta, Yentreve). It acts a bit differently than the common selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) like Zoloft you are taking. So if Zoloft really don't work i would realy sugest the Cymbalta. Some info on Cymbalta Duloxetine (Cymbalta, Yentreve) is a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor manufactured and marketed by Eli Lilly.
Avatar n tn I work in a forensic hospital and have seen a number of patients who snort buspirone. The drug is traded for sexual favors here and aside from the obvious high some patients report it provides an aphrodesic effect. This is new information..there any data to evidence this side effect?

Avatar f tn i am taking 80 mg fluoxetine plus 45 - 60 mg buspirone and i was wondering if there is reason for concern about serotonin syndrome with such a cocktail at those dosages. if it's a bad idea to be taking so much of the both of them, it's not necessarily a big deal for me to d/c them as i still lay in bed all day! -- but what's next? thanks...
Avatar m tn I am currently on 20mg of Paroxetine (Paxil) once a day and 10mg of Buspirone (Buspar) twice a day. I am also on Nexium and Amoxicillin (3 more days). I have been taking my pills like this: Morning/Breakfast: Paroxetine, Buspirone, and Amoxicillin Lunch: Nexium Dinner: Buspirone and Amoxicillin. I read today that both Paxil and Peroxetine taken together could cause problems. I have read otherwise somewhere else. After I read this I felt extremely dizzy and faint feeling.
Avatar f tn There are medications that can help alleviate the burning/pain. One of the main ones is Duloxetine, which is a generic for Cymbalta. I take that for my neuropathy… It helps considerably, but doesn’t eliminate the pain. If you look it up, Cymbalta (Duloxetine) is listed as an anti-depressant, but it’s used “off label” quite often for pain. Check with your doctor and see if that might be possibility for you.
Avatar f tn I'm taking Prozac 30 mg and I've been prescribed Buspirone 15 mg for anxiety. I'm super paranoid about medication in general, but I also have vistaril 50 mg for anxiety. I've scared myself silly looking up medicine interactions. The chance of getting seratonin syndrome is absolutely horrifying to me. How rare is it? Should I cut the buspirone in half? Or should I just take the vistaril and forget the buspirone all together?
Avatar f tn I was on Zoloft for 15 years and I stopped for two years in the past year I've been taking buspirone 10 mg and gabapentin 300 mg twice a day it wasn't working very well so I got on trintellix 10 mg for 3 weeks causes serious anxiety,OCD and lethargy and depression. I want to get back on the Zoloft I'm still taking the buspirone in the Gabapentin but it's been 3 days since I've taken the trintellix what do I do? Taper ? Switch?
Avatar f tn I had a severe allergic reaction to Citalapram and was taken off and had to wait for my appointment with the psychiatrist which was a week and a half ago. He perscription for Buspirone and Paroxetine. I didn't start taking the medicine right off the bat because of fear that i was going to have another bad reaction and ended up having another attack last night. I started taking the Buspirone this afternoon and was wondering how i should take it and the Paroxetine.
Avatar n tn Hello. Stem cell transplant is still at an initial phase. There are reports of its effective use, but it is difficult to say how much it will help with the Olivo-Ponto-Cerebellar atrophy. But if you have the facilities, there is no reason why you should not try it. Buspirone helps only mild to moderate cerebellar ataxia cases. Your mother appears to have at least a moderate level of cerebellar ataxia. You may try Buspirone.
