Avatar m tn It then turned into a small dry patch of skin, until it flaked off and cleared away. I used some hydrocortisone cream on it. Then a few weeks later I noticed another spot on my torso. I immediately used hydro cream on it and it didn't get any bigger than a pencil erasure and cleared up much more quickly. I then got another on my chest which remained even smaller and now I think I see one beginning on my forearm. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar n tn I have rough itchy dry skin on my ankle nothing has helped. What is it and what can I do to get rid of it?
Avatar m tn Hello, I cannot confirm anything without examination, but it can be due to seborrheic dermatitis. Seborrheic dermatitis is a common skin condition that causes flaky, dry, white to yellowish scales to form on oily areas esp under the nose or anywhere on face. You can treat flaking and dryness with over-the-counter dandruff or medicated shampoos. Shampoo the hair vigorously and frequently (preferably daily).

Avatar m tn I also have slightly distinguishable vertical ridges on my finger nails and hair loss combined with dry brittle looking hair and occasionally dry itchy elbows. Avatar n tn I have a question and it is rather embarassing. I have very dry skin. I can't really afford to go to a dermatologist and if I could I'd be much to embarassed to show my face. I have under my arm pits skin irratation that I believe coems from the type of deodorant I use and scratching. The skin is breaking and it's showing the pink meat of my skin. I'm very embarssed to wear sleaveless or get undressed because of it.
Avatar f tn I wash my face with warm water to wash off the dead skin cells , then mosturise , but i dont know if this is just dry skin or an actual skin condition that requires medical advice. After i wash my face the area above my eyebrow leaks and is sticky? I dont know if this is my natural oils or not. Even after i moistuise it , it leaks and looks like little water droplets on my skin? I do not use things like face washes that aggravate my skin , its just really dry.

Avatar f tn I have had itchy, dry patches all over my upper chest, neck, and upper back, with a few extending to my underarms, lower back, and lower abdomen for over a month, almost a month and a half now. They were very red when they started, a few of them tan-ish, and not near as itchy as they are now. Now they are smaller patches, pinkish, and very itchy. They change a little very day. I have tried antihistamines and cortisone ointment, but that didn't help at all, so it isn't an allergy.
Avatar n tn I had sand like particles on my scalp and mine is dry skin. Previously, my hair was so thick but now, its heavy hair loss and no growth. Currently, am going through some medication, going with KZ lotion and some others. Can anyone suggest about the problem i had and any kind of home remedies...what not, to avoid the hair loss.
Avatar f tn I have extremely dry scalp all over that flakes and itches so bad. I've tried Head 'n' Shoulders, Selsen Blue, Green Tea Tree Oil...everything...when I initially wash my hair it works. But by that evening or the next morning it's back. When I try to use conditioners to help, my hair gets so oily I can't stand it. I don't blow dry my hair anymore because it makes it worse faster. I'm just at a loss of what to else to do to make it go away!!
Avatar m tn At the same time I also have chronic dermatitis which causes scaling, dry, itchy skin all over my face and back. It stings, burns, itches constantly, and acne lesions crust and bleed. Avatar f tn Hello, Without examination, confirmation of a diagnosis is tough but it can be contact dermatitis, rash due to friction rub with clothes, dry skin or xerosis, dermatitis (atopic, contact, allergic), heat rash or excessive sweating causing sweat dermatitis. You may try calamine lotion on the rash. You should also maintain hygiene and try to keep the area clean and dry, wear loose-fitting cotton clothing. Also use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove.Avoid deodorant / cosmetics.
Avatar n tn Thinking nothing of it, I looked in my medicine cabinet and found a Zinc Oxide Ointment to treat minor skin irritations. I applied it once or twice and the rash was gone within a few days. But after that, I noticed that the area I had applied the ointment to had changed color, to a pale white/red blotch, almost like a scar.
Avatar n tn t appear dry. Also, I have developed a burning, itchy and sometimes red skin under my arms, breasts, and groin. These areas have an unpleasant odor and are often sticky. I must bath every day to keep the burning to a reasonable level. I wonder if these might have something to do with the meds I am taking for high blood pressure.
Avatar n tn I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend 2 months ago. Recently, the skin all around my vagina has become very dry, and itchy, especially near the perineum. I’ve always had some dry skin in the area, but it has gotten exponentially worse. I don’t know if this to do with an STD, or more in relation to the change in weather. (I’m prone to dry skin, and the heater and winter conditions do not help.) The itching and dryness go away, temporarily, with the application of Vagisil.
Avatar f tn The skin under my eyebrow and above my upper lip has become very dry and flaky.I have never had this problem before, and none of my immediate family has any Eczema or bad skin problems.I'm not sure what to treat it with, because some creams/lotions have only irritated it and made a burning sensation.I'm not sure what to do at all.Any help?? Oh and I'm only 13 years old.
Avatar n tn Do not share towels or flannels and pat the skin dry instead of rubbing it. Wear cotton underwear not silk or nylon and wear no underwear at night. Bathe in a general solution such as Eucerin or Oiltum bath and shower oil. Apply Sudocrem or Zinc & castor oil cream to affected areas and avoid highly fragranced products.

Avatar n tn I have dry, flaking, itching, irritated, tender & red skin on my left inner (upper) thigh. I have had this for a few weeks now and today it's kind of red. It seems to feel worse at night when I am trying to sleep. I try to pat it dry after showering and I do change underwear every day. I haven't discussed this with a doctor. I would like to be able to treat this on my own at home and get rid of this ugly & uncomfortable problem. What could this be?
